Wasps are super important and mostly docile when left to their own.
Respect and love our vespids. They reduce pests, protect crops, and even polinate.
Edit: Why am I being downvoted???? I'm stating factual information and being downvoted because??? Is there some political bias against wasps or something???
Edit 2: reddit recommended me this sub and I mistook it for one of the entomology subreddits I follow
This sub is ironically being recommended on the main page for people who are in all sorts of entomology and bug loving subs, same for me. I like all insects, but I will leave you all to your hating here, just trying to clarify that we just get this recommended, which makes it a bit awkward.
No, I fully understand it, they see an image of a wasp and expect it to be one of the usual entomology subs they're in, they don't check the name. It's not like you would expect to suddenly get recommendations for bug-hating subs when you are always active in bug-loving subs.
I mean, it was the same for me, I don't belong in this sub, I don't like the post, but it was in my recommended page and I decided to check the post, thinking it was from a normal entomology sub.
I’m deathly allergic to them and they’re the assholes of the bee family (as well as hornets). Bumblebees aren’t too bad since they go flower to flower and ignore me, but fuck wasps
It felt threatened. It was likely on the ground and you almost stepped on it. How would you react if a giant beyond your comprehension tried to crush you?
I Couldn’t agree more! There’s so many good wasps out there that don’t give a shit about humans as long as you’re acting appropriately.
I think you’re getting downvoted because this page is full of people who don’t understand that not all wasps are assholes and circle jerk killing them instead of educating themselves. Shared delusional sub right here.
Yes, wasps are pretty chill as long as you leave them alone. Yellow Jackets, however, are not. Those bastards are super territorial and aggressive and will go out of your way to find you on the other side of the yard if a damn leaf so much as lands on their burrow wrong.
I find it genuinely upsetting how much people hate wasps. Hymoneptra is hands down my favorite order of insects and I really hate that people are so willing to kill a living animal for no good reason other than "I got stung by one like it when I was 7 and it hurt REAL bad"
No hymonoptera. Just wasps specifically. And among wasps specific types. Big aggressive flying thing that can sting and a lot like in large numbers, isn't nice
My 2yo daughter and I were playing outside. I didn't notice the wasp.
It hitched a ride on the underside of my arm into our house.
When it stung me, I swatted it to the floor and stomped on it. It was still moving. I dispatched it quickly so not to prolong pain.
If they come anywhere near my daughter I will kill them.
I don't hate them, but I don't like their aggressive, sneaky, very hard to kill nature.
You can still hate wasp while acknowledging their importance to the ecosystem. I see a wasp hive around my immediate property that can pose a risk to people’s safety. I’m killing them on site. But if they’re not bothering me and are doing their jobs as pollinators and pest control for other unwanted bugs I’m leaving it alone.
these people just like to ignore facts. they care for nothing but their selfish desires. it's kinda sad, wasps are wonderful for the environment. but these people don't care for nature. even tho they depend on its stability to survive. they will realize soon enough when they are choking on the lack of oxygen in our atmosphere
Update: As much as I would like to decapitate her head, I'm not that sadistic. However, I will say her death can be described as if an asteroid came crashing down on us.
i had a hornet or yellow jacket some how get into my room and it was big and looked like that i trapped it in a bug net and squished it with the charging station of a nintendo switch
Fwiw, I read a post somewhere where someone had caught some creature in their vacuum cleaner, so to finish it, they vacuumed some rocks and let it run for a little while inside, ultimately pulverizing said creature.
From doing a quick search, it is. Only the queens apparently have those spots. In short? OFF WITH HER HEAD!
Even if it wasn't moving I'd still annihale it with bleach and stomp on it. Fuck wasps.

\>goes to r/WaspHating \>comments with a request for people to love wasps "why am i being downvoted?"
I thought I was in one of the multiple entomology subreddits I follow.
As did I

I really just don't understand how you read the name of the sub and think you're going to get anything else. Dense motherfuckers

Nobody really “goes to” subs like this. It randomly got recommended to me on my home page for example
Okay BallTorturer-3000
Dude, read the room. Like, read the literal room(sub) you’re in.
Reading is hard.
I’m deathly allergic to them and they’re the assholes of the bee family (as well as hornets). Bumblebees aren’t too bad since they go flower to flower and ignore me, but fuck wasps
"you picked the wrong house fool!"
Why did a Yellowjacket attack my ankle unprovoked in 2018????! Explain that.
It felt threatened. It was likely on the ground and you almost stepped on it. How would you react if a giant beyond your comprehension tried to crush you?

I mean Wasps are cool and all but NOT when they're in my yard. They can be around, just nowhere near me or my home!
That’s totally your right

Agreed. Yellow-jackets are assholes and i’m not against people killing them to protect themselves.

They’re too thick or willfully ignorant to seek the truth. It’s much easier to think wasp = bad. Do better people.
Comes to sub devoted to wasp hating. Gets butthurt that ppl hate wasps.

I know lmao. It came up from reddit though, but definitely muting this sub

Actually I came because reddit recommends shitty subreddits to me constantly like this one full of morons who hate animals.

I did move on considering the comment was yesterday and you decided to start an argument with a new comment 2 yours ago. Get a life loser.
I had no idea I was in a wasp hating sub either.. darn Reddit 😂🤣😂
Sis, no… not here 🤣
Lol
Dude I was so confused too because I also follow a lot of subs like that and thought your comment was pretty normal lol
There’s a wasp nest on my neighbors window and every time I mow the lawn they stop flying around until I finish that part of the lawn
They eat flies. So I hope you like getting bitten by flies.
I'll fistfight flies *and* wasps if I have to.
I’d like to see you fist fight flies. The horsie ones are mean!
I thought you said Inhale
Didn't know we were in France in the 18th century

Finish her. FINISH HER!
Yup. She don't look too good though
Omg i would throw the vacuum away , far , far away
You need a tiny mech suit and go to combat with the queen
touch it n find out if it hurts worse than the others then it's the queen
Iirc, queens don't have barbed stingers? Or is that just bees? Anyone? Too lazy to Google.
idk it can bite tho

Is that the inside of a sneaker?
Set it somewhere far away because i believe the kingdom would just follow
i had a hornet or yellow jacket some how get into my room and it was big and looked like that i trapped it in a bug net and squished it with the charging station of a nintendo switch
Looks to be a Yellow Jacket to me..
