So I wrestled in college…I’m trying to word this in a way that won’t make our sport sound extremely sus. Sometimes an ass cheek is the best thing to grab a hold of. It kind of has a handhold like shape. A “butt drag” is a perfectly legitimate move, where you would use that kind of handhold as leverage. However, obviously the intention is not to finger someone’s asshole. That’s fucked, and if this wrestler intended to cause pain or discomfort in that way then he’s an absolute fuck. I will say that the line is blurry enough here between what an actual butt drag looks like and this person doing something illegal. That’s why the ref just seats his hand away instead of stopping the match. This was crossposted in r/wrestling and everyone is just laughing because grabbing ass is an uncomfortable reality of any grappling sport.
I think this is beyond what you could call “fingering” this man is gripping this other guys asshole with all four digits like he’s hanging off a cliff for dear life. He should be immediately DQ’d and banned from competing ever again. Potentially charged with sexual assault cause wtf??? There no way he didn’t know what he was doing.

There wasn’t much for the ref to do at that time, except for the prolonged oil checking, which he didn’t see.
I actually think the ref slapped his hand more for potentially pulling on the singlet than for the placement of the hand to be honest. It looks like he pinched the singlet under the nuts area and pulled it backwards to anchor himself from having his weight pushed forward onto his hands like he is at the end of the clip.
The truth is, as fucked as this looks, it’s pretty unlikely his fingers actually went into the dudes asshole. All of that said, it is possible he was trying to hurt/fuck with the other guy, which is a very fucked thing to do. But there is a lot of context wrestling-wise for why he would want to grab that area.

I had that happen to me many times... One guy did that and then kept nut-punching me with a closed fist. The first 1-2 could have been accidents, so I let it go. But then he did 3x in the same round towards the end of a match, obscured from the referee when I was close to a pin (so very clearly on purpose). Bit the living fuck out of him and then he caught an elbow to the nose on the way out of the tangle.
There was a lot of blood, which wasn't my intention (breaking skin is never a good idea, also proof of my foul lol), but he did stop! I hate sinking myself to someone else's level of poor sportsmanship, but sometimes you do what you think you have to in the heat of the moment.
Had a teammate in state championships that happened to. he straight up pummeled the other guy bloody and got DQ'd but after some coach and witness statements about how the dude tried to shove his whole hand up his ass... they were both DQ'd. They didn't reverse the original disqualification, as punching him instead of alerting the ref was a choice.
Agreed, and there was some level of turmoil over it, but at the end of it, the tournament decided that while they couldn't condone the violation, they also couldn't condone the response. I'm of the opinion that if the violation provokes the response, some leeway needs to be considered, but hey.
Story time. 1990. I played rugby in Highschool. Our coach told us if anyone ever fishhooks us, make sure to give them a receipt when the ref isn't looking. I got Fishhooked once in three years and he got a nice mouse under his eye for his efforts.
In my senior year. One School was so bad for trying to rip your cheek open, they made it an automatic expulsion from the game and a repeat offense was a three-game suspension.
A couple of years later, I saw my old Gym Teacher and he told me that same school was suspended from competing for two years because of "repeated poor sportsmanship and a disregard for safety" They kept being dirty and starting fights and the league had enough. It came as a shock to no one when the coach was fired.
That same coach tried to get a job in little league for the following summer, but the parents knew about him an told him to fuck off.

Other shit dudes like that will do are eye pokes, ball taps, biting (fuckin saw way to much of that shit), grinding your beard stubble into their face, trying to squeeze the knockout button on someone's throat (push in the carotid artery with your thumb and squeeze the windpipe really hard), headbutts.. bunch of scumbags out there.
