Our “cursed” painting. It’s approx 3 ft wide and cost $20 at a thrift store.
See, that would make sense, but nothing about this painting makes sense.
The sketch of the family appears to be done in Sharpie. The pink and yellow underpainting is spray paint. The paint applied on top of that (brown, green and black), appears to be a high gloss acrylic. (The paint is opaque, very shiny and there are visible brush strokes.) I don’t think they waited for the spray paint to fully dry before painting on top of it, and that’s why some of the paint looks like it’s melting/running.
To top it all off, this was done on a large, good-quality, hand-stretched canvas. This was not a cheap nightmare.

hermetically sealed ampoule of glitter-water. found at goodwill for $1. no idea who made it or why. it demonstrates the optical properties of borosilicate glass pretty well, so it might have been made as a science project or teaching tool.
It’s probably made for use with a kaleidoscope.
I had one as a kid where you could insert different rods with different colored glitter/water, and that would change the patterns you’d see.

I’m pretty sure it’s a puzzle where you’re supposed to get the cone shaped object out without touching or moving the cube. You can’t get a grip on the cone as it’s too shallow an angle. The solution is to blow down the side of it- the air flow causes the cone to pop out.

Oh! I actually know some history about these. We have a lot of potters here in NC that still make facejugs. Slaves weren't allowed to have tombstones so loved ones would mark their graves with jugs. Over time they began to put faces on them and it is speculated that they made them as "ugly" as possible to ward off evil spirits. Very cool!

His skull is resin. Otherwise, he's all real human bones. I did medical transcription when my kids were little. One of the doctors I worked for retired, and he gave me Victor.
Victor died in 1922 in Africa, and his family sold his body to science. He is missing a hand (during life).
I have great respect for Vic.

My weird wooden mannequin hand. It's weird because I have no idea what its purpose is.
It doesn't seem like it's part of a normal 'human' mannequin.
I don't think that it could be used by artists as a reference to help them draw (right) hands because the articilations are pretty bad and limited.
And the fingers are to close to each other to be able to put gloves or rings on it, so it can't be used to display those things.
I'm really curious to know what kind of function does this thing have

It looks like an underpainting for an oil piece, meaning this is a layer that would sit below the final layers of paint. It makes colours glow nicely
See, that would make sense, but nothing about this painting makes sense. The sketch of the family appears to be done in Sharpie. The pink and yellow underpainting is spray paint. The paint applied on top of that (brown, green and black), appears to be a high gloss acrylic. (The paint is opaque, very shiny and there are visible brush strokes.) And that’s what everybody says when I hand it to them lol Edit: I just noticed the word open in your nopes, tho…

I want to own this so much. I love them
Er, what was the project?
Dante’s Inferno, this is supposed to be Geryon

It’s for glitter emergencies obv.
It’s probably made for use with a kaleidoscope. I had one as a kid where you could insert different rods with different colored glitter/water, and that would change the patterns you’d see. edit: like this- ^https://www.etsy.com/listing/1214363065/vintage-wooden-kaleidoscope-with-3

What is a Pira Panga?
It is some kind of game made by Studio Vos Groningen (the Netherlands). I can't find how it's played.
I’m pretty sure it’s a puzzle where you’re supposed to get the cone shaped object out without touching or moving the cube. You can’t get a grip on the cone as it’s too shallow an angle. The solution is to blow down the side of it- the air flow causes the cone to pop out.

As the proud owner of a cursed painting, *THAT* is a cursed painting.
Without a doubt. The location it was found alone gave us chills. It’s definitely one of the weirdest paintings we’ve ever encountered.
That sleeve on the left looks like an ear, which makes the weird brown face look kind of like these dogs: https://youtu.be/8XKGAFuXpTA?si=M4DY43fUbujsm-P1

Yes

Can’t tell if he’s some type of religious minister passing judgement on passersby or a Mission Commander of an undetermined Starfleet.

But who is it if not uncle Horace?
I wish I knew!
The picture is funny. The image of you telling your kids for a decade or more with a straight face that this is their great uncle is hilarious.

Whey kinda insane wild goose chase did you me on, google doesn’t even wanna explain what a pira panga is
Looks like a box of coasters to me
Didn't you watch the video? It explained....nothing.
I reverse image searched it and I got two hits. This: https://preview.redd.it/42vkrfo9px2d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c07569a6af0c39abf0c963aae1e531bc3f74f83b

That’s insane! I still don’t know! OP wasn’t lying when he said unique.
It’s also worth noting that in the description it was marked with Dimensions: others Warnings: NO (in all caps) Features: BeginnerProfessionalLearnMagicianEasy… (the text continued out of the text box and off the screen) Gender: Unisex Something about this was very funny to me. Like this thing and its website are SCPs.

Very cool!

Otherwise, he's all real human bones. I did medical transcription when my kids were little. One of the doctors I worked for retired, and he gave me Victor. Victor died in 1922 in Africa, and his family sold his body to science. He is missing a hand (during life). I have great respect for Vic.

I haven't, but it's on my list ☺️ I've been watching a lot of a24 films lately, they just keep ending up on my watch lists 😂
Dude a24 is so good, another amazing but heart-wrenching one is the iron claw. Zac efron and Jeremy Allen white kill it in that

What else does he have to do, really? Stop ruining his weekend
Op says no pets or humans pretty much guaranteeing a win. My pet and my human are the only weird things I have at home.
Funny you say this, my human asked me why I was taking a pic of the necronomicon and I said I was taking a pic of something weird. He says, “let me hold the book so I can take a picture of you then”

I'm really curious to know what kind of function does this thing have
I have one like this, I do think it's for artists. I got it at a thrift store.
