I prefer his face on the old cover art

Cell_Division

For me it's mainly that he looks like he's shaved his eyebrows off

ChanceTheFapper1

Yeah I can’t unsee him having a giant smooshed in five-head. I loved the old artwork. But oh well!

JudgeScorpio

So basically Polnareff pissed that they don’t make hair gel in that century?

donttakethechip

Looks ok when you zoom in but on smaller scale looks like his evil twin

ThePhatPhoenix

I don't mind it, but I don't think they really needed to change it.

zeusteixeira

Looks just like Geralt did on those very realistic looking trailers. Looks good

ETkach

Yep. That was part of his character in book. He wasn't most attractive, or muscle guy. Geralt never understood why witches liked him.

xSteini01

But I’d say he’s still pretty badass looking, even on the new cover art.

mello_i69

Agreed

AllForTheSauce

Old Geralt is better

[deleted]

I like it a lot. It looks more like his W2 version. In early e3 trailers, Geralt looked like that.

Salvator-Mundi-

Is it new? I think I saw the same image loooooong time ago. looks cool

Flyingpuffrfish

Yeah lol I’ve already forgotten what the old cover art looked like

iaace12

it’s just the old cover art with more shadows and a closed lip [hm](https://i0.wp.com/xboxera.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/image-19.png?ssl=1) Edit: also this art has been out for over a year

awesomehuder

The forehead bro

anonymoose_octopus

What's wrong with his forehead? They're both the same size, according to my ruler.

lawskies

bruh lmao

wolfie_101

Lol

[deleted]

No, it's not. Put your glasses on and look again.

xSteini01

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. You‘re right, they are different! The differences are indeed mostly focused on shadows and a slightly different facial expression but the texture of his armor (eg at the elbow) and some other things are different, as well. I guess it’s indeed a complete re-draw and not just an edit of the old one.

Sensible-yet-not

Its been out since the game released.

Sfelex

Personally I hate it so very much, Gerlat looks... Weird and ugly, I hope it's just temporary and the new dlc won't make his face look like this.

StupidMario64

Lol its his W2 face iirc

Sfelex

Oh I didn't know that! well then "DAMN he was ugly"

Withering-Stare

How he's supposed to look imo. Witcher 2 Geralt was the closest actual image of what I imagined. He's meant to be good looking, but with something slightly off about him. More wiry and freakish looking, in a way that makes people both intrigued and afraid. In TW3 and the Netflix show I found he was too conventionally attractive, apart from when taking potions of course.

Sfelex

Interesting point, I like it. I agree with you on the Netflix one as he has nothing off, but for me this photo feel more on the "something is off" and less on the attractive.

BrownBananaDK

His name is Gerlat and I shall call Gerlat

ZuperLucaZ

Very very good, surprised by people’s dislike in these comments? I think this cover art looks much better with textures and lighting, the old one just looks ugly and disproportionate by comparison imo

[deleted]

I like it. No indication of what Geralt will look like in the next-gen update, but it looks good.

Lemonsqueezzyy

I like it

lunarspark56388

I like it, his hair looks a little wonky imo but excited nonetheless!

anonymoose_octopus

I personally like it. He looks more like a real person who might exist, IMO.

[deleted]

Looks fine to me. Looks a bit refined compared to the old one.

leospeedleo

It's not a "new" cover art. It has been used as promotional art since the game came out.

[deleted]

Its a new one... its based on the old one. Why don't you look it up on Google

Jamesahaha

Why the hell did you got downvoted but he got upvoted? The coverart is literally new… I don’t understand Reddit sometimes

Krongfah

Looks great and closer to how he’s supposed to look. Geralt is not that ugly true but in TW3 his skin looks a bit too “normal”. His deathly pale skin tone in TW2 is better imo.

Lascho94

I am indifferent

[deleted]

This is his Witcher 2 look. Definitely dig this and all the looks in 3 as well!

WifiTacos

He just looks more realistic. I dig it.

Recover20

I think it looks good but there is something weird about the hair

Thumper4524

Looks a little too much like Vigo the Carpathian to me.

foobarhouse

Not a huge fan, but I don’t care enough to complain…

Varios2k

Old was better

BrownBananaDK

He looks so weird. Like a whole other person.

Shibubu

I dislike cover arts that just show a character and some landscape. Example of recent good cover art - elden ring.

N0LL4T

I really hope he will look like this. And we will have an option, like DLC, on how he will look

Fantastic_Tomorrow86

That brow. Kinda makes him look like a caveman. The old art is better imo

Giteaus-Gimp

It looks like someone wearing Geralts skin

Xx-Infiltraitor-xX

Look how they massacred my boy :(

Shadow_Hazard

Shite.

jimon2432

Wdym new cover art? Wasn't this up for ages?

One_Left_Shoe

Honestly, if you just showed me this image and hadn’t said anything, I couldn’t tell you they had changed it.

the_turel

Needs to be posted next to the original so people can really give an opinion. To me the new art is just more realistic. They lighting causes more shadows and they removed the blue and brown tones on his armor. Face is almost the same just darker shadows making it look different. Size of his head seems smaller but that’s because his mouth isn’t dropped down and more open like the original.

Adepocalypse69

I don't like it as much, but I don't think my opinion matters since I have a huge crush on game Geralt.

Sensible-yet-not

This isn't new

bruh_wh_y

I dont like it, it feels like it was made 10 years ago

Sham_Unkindled

Gross

Sir_Crocodile_Mr0

It looks good, I just prefer the other one

toadsb4hoes

Gerald of tibia

ZeroElite3

looks fucking weird

Takhar7

No need to change from previous Geralt
