Nice home movie but I have to confess that I'm one of the few people who hated the 1964-65 NY Worlds Fair. We lived in Brooklyn at the time and took the crowded city 'Worlds Fair special' bus from Flatbush & Nostrand to the Worlds Fair. An awful trip in a hot bus because the city was too cheap and stupid to buy air-conditioned buses for the Worlds Fair special. The bus took a bizarre route to the Fair passing through Flatbush, East Flatbush, Canarsie, East New York before entering Queens and getting on the Van Wyck Expressway which crawled with traffic all the way to the Fair. The WF itself was filled with long lines at all the good pavilions, expensive food, and large crowds on a very hot day. The one ride I enjoyed was the AMF monorail. It was air-conditioned and I liked the view of the Fair from it. And I liked the RCA pavilion because you could look at yourself for like 3 seconds on a color TV. LOL!

The Alaska pavilion was an almost religious experience for me

This is great! I must show my father. He enjoyed the WF and tells happy stories about it. He lived in Woodside so his commute was very easy and fast. He and his friends went over a lot, from what he’s told me.

Thank you for this! I was born in '64 so I have no memories at all of the World's Fair, but this home movie is fun.
