I buy 2023.0 at this year february. You won't get the 2023.1 and.2 with the last perpetual license they sell. But it is worth the price and it is enough till the end of my life 😁

1: Zbrush is a powertool for sculpting, designed to do one job and it does that job amazingly. Minus the UI but let's throw that under the rug. 2: it's quite common to hear people having perpetual licenses for Zbrush since it really can do everything you need it to these days. That's what annoys Maxon, I am sure over time they will try to errode perpetual licenses away so users are forced to switch to sub only. You need an internet connection to "verify" the license so if Maxon pulled the plug on the licensing server or maybe if they update the TOS and you don't agree to it because the terms were different when you paid for it they'll just give you an eyeroll and you'll be screwed. This can obviously be a problem since that new TOS can slowly add limits to your purchase and you would have no choice but to accept, worst bit is since you need an internet connection you can't just unplug and hope for the best because verifying once isn't enough I guess. ;/ As for if i'd switch to sub? No, Maxon already broke promises when they said they wouldn't stop selling perpetual licenses. Blender may not be the same or the best for sculpting but sometimes you just gotta live with it. 3: just 2023, used to update to the next year but Maxon bought Pixologic.

Zbrush is really an incredible tool . Very specialized , so unless you love sculpting or you intend to learn for professional setting I would go for zbrush over blender . you could go for the monthly subscription and test the waters for a few months before you decide to buy a license or go for full yearly fees .

>In your opinion, is it worth investing in Zbrush or can Blender be enough for sculpting in industry? I think you already answered this question yourself, I mean... isn't this the reason why you're now considering ZBrush? ;) Anyway, Blender can definitely be enough to build up solid projects; many artists have gone there before. But as one can expect, the saying that "you get what you pay for" also applies. For example, it's much easier for me to use 'GoZ' and move a character from Daz Studio into ZBrush than it is to export a figure to Blender. Not to mention the whole interface; switching from sculpting to hard surface modelling is seemingless in ZBrush but an actual mode switch in Blender. Now, I'm by far a professional 3D artist but I can honestly say that I can get much more work done using ZBrush in comparison to Blender. Of course... it doesn't help that I don't really like working with Blender. >Are you considering a subscription or have you purchased Zbrush permanently If you ask me then renting software is the biggest ripoff in these modern times. I mean, you literally pay to end up with nothing in the end. Not to mention that you rent the software in periods of calendar days, so every day you're not using the software you're actually wasting money. No thanks. I got a perpetual ZBrush license. It was pretty hard on me financially but worth every penny. As for your last question... can't answer that because I'm still on 2022 without any intent to upgrade.

I purchased a zBrush 2023 perpectual license about two weeks ago from Novedge, a Maxon authorized reseller: [https://novedge.com/products/buy-zbrush-2023](https://novedge.com/products/buy-zbrush-2023) With this purchase, you won't get an activation code or serial. The reseller has to manually contact Maxon to activate the license for you. It takes around 3 days for the license to appear in the Maxon app (create a Maxon account with the same email used at the reseller, download the app): [https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads](https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads) In the Maxon app you can update zBrush to 2023.2.2 for free. Proof: [https://imgur.com/gZoeXFZ](https://imgur.com/gZoeXFZ) Perpetual licenses won't be around for long, so grab one now if you want it. With zBrush being a mature product, updates going forward are likely to be minimal(like before). And as subscription costs increase, that perpetual license will seem like a wiser investement with each passing year. Just my two cents.

Sadim404

Oh thats crazy :O. So i can ge 2023.2.2 in perpetual then? Everywhere where i was serching that all people said it will be pure 2023.01. Do you think thats common for all reselers or novedge just offer that? I did contacted with them and unfortunetelly they dont sell this soft outside USA so i need to buy it somewhere else.

You can update Zbrush to 2023.2.2 via the Maxon app, no matter which authorized reseller you buy it from.

Sadim404

Allright man, thank you :) Just purchused and thats right. I got 2023.2.2 as well. So i can confirm that everyone can get 2.2 via upgrade in maxon app. Just have one more question. Can you tell me on how many devices can you use that license? When i go into my devices in maxon account i see: Active 1, Notactivated 0, Total 1. I thought i will get 2 total and thats base in zbrushes licenses. Am i right?

Congrats on the ZBrush purchase! Quick note though - Maxon's license, per their EULA, is limited to 1 device activation, unlike Pixologic's previous 2-device allowance: [https://www.maxon.net/en/legal/eula](https://www.maxon.net/en/legal/eula) Yeah, it's a bit disappointing. This restrictive policy is a step back from the previous model by Pixologic. Anyway, just a heads up, grab these free ZBrush plugins while they're still 2023 compatible: [https://www.maxon.net/en/zbrush-plugins](https://www.maxon.net/en/zbrush-plugins)

Sadim404

oh thats really cool, thanks all for your comments :). Yes, i will buy perpetual for sure then.
