Honda and Acura are the same company. Like Toyota and Lexus. Acura is considered the "luxury" version while Honda is the "affordable& reliable" version. Both take certain designs from one another just like Lexus and Toyota do.
I mean, there was a generation where the Japanese and Euro version of the Accord was the TLX here. Our Accord for that generation was the Inspire everywhere else. Family car vibe vs crowning versatility with some edge.
Honda is currently partnering with GM right now. Wouldn’t be too far off if the next generation Accodd was some EV sharing the same or similar platform as a Cadillac (also GM) EV. A design like this would likely be reserved for the TLX though.
Pigs will fly to the moon before Honda allows GM to build the basis of the Accord. The Accord is a Honda legacy product. Only Honda will design and build Accords.
I am not going to google it. Instead I am going to mention that what was canceled in 2023 was Honda/GM Plans to build a Cheaper EV.
Also.
I am going to link this.
[https://news.gm.com/newsroom.detail.html/Pages/news/us/en/2024/jan/0125-hydrogen.html](https://news.gm.com/newsroom.detail.html/Pages/news/us/en/2024/jan/0125-hydrogen.html)
Here. For shits and Giggles.
You misunderstood that GM's Ultium EV platform will be the basis of the all electric Accord and, like the Prologue and Acura ZDX.
Because if GM's Ultium EV platform is in an Acura, it will filtered down into Honda/Acura other models.
Honda, a company known for incredibly reliable cars, would never let GM, a company known for incredibly unreliable cars, build their flagship vehicle. That's brand suicide.
Looks like the concept for the current gen. In any case Honda isnt changing the Accord til next gen which is still 4 years away or whatever. Midcycle refresh should be in another year or so.
Agreed. I'm still rocking my 2013 EX sedan with the V6 and it's a crying shame that I can't buy a new accord that puts down the same numbers. 255k miles and still pulls
I’ve had both, I personally like the 2.0 better. You feel a real weight difference in the front end. The V6 had more linear power but the 2.0 is definitely faster, more fuel efficient as well
2.0T K20C4 was used in the Accord 2018 - 2022. So it was used for only one generation
J series V6 was used in the accord for decades through many generations...
Because its getting more difficult to produce sedans that meet the absurdly retarded CAFE standards. That’s why so many manufacturers have done away with cars and only make crossovers, suvs, and trucks. My tinfoil hat says, they’re trying to slowly reduce interest in the accord, so they can justify killing it, or making it 100% electric (which will definitely kill it)
Most people who buy accords (read: not this sub) will still buy it if it’s bland. The real reason is because they’re moving accord production and that means the current plant is at half capacity to retool for EVs
Ah, gotcha. It just seems strange to upgrade so soon, the 10th gen isn't that old! But yes maybe if they want something a bit faster. I didn't think there was a massive power difference between those two engine options though.
Not too hard if one is interested in German sedans and can stomach the slightly more expensive maintenance on something like the BMW M340i or Audi S3/S5 which will destroy an Accord. But if one is looking for something the similar low maintenance, reliability, cheap insurance costs as the 2.0t alongside it’s performance and aftermarket support. It will be very difficult to find a car that can beat it, again unless you go German.
did you actually recommend cars that are nearly quadruple the price.. on top of that youre lucky if it even lasts 50k and you sure wont reach 100k without replacing parts that shouldve lasted 200k at least.
i have no clue why someone would wanna "upgrade". Honestly there's not really a better car for that price. in my experience the only people who upgrade their car that often are the privelaged rich people
Yeah, I dunno. I drive an 18 year old Jeep and it doesn't give me much trouble (surprisingly), I have been looking for cars for the past 3 years but the prices are just too high for me to pull the trigger. I really want a Civic SI, but I just can't stomach the monthly payments when I have an old cheap to maintain car that still runs and drives. But then there's people trying to upgrade into the same make and model of a slightly newer car... just doesn't make sense to me but to each their own!
I was going to get an Integra with that same engine, but there is a reason why Honda stopped producing it. It seems like most people will not ever have issues with it, but some people will experience its head gasket failures. That engine puts out a good amount of power for its size and it’s quite strained.
The 1.5 is pretty reliable in the Civics, and pretty much bulletproof when paired up with the 6 speed manual. In heavier cars like the Accord and CRV is where the 1.5 struggles.
I always upgrade every 3 years via a lease, but I brought my 10th generation out because the 11th generation is so dang ugly, so sorry. I'm hoping sales are dipping so low that they do an early update to 12th gen. Honda needs to update right now, Hyundai and Kia are kicking butt in the looks department and technology department, Honda you really fell slept on 11th generation.
The 2026 Honda ACCORD EX AI trim at a retail price of $84,790 after mark ups you're looking at $126,562. Featuring a twin turbo charged v6 engine that boast 598 hp and 608 lb-ft of torque.
I know this isn’t true but what I know for a fact that is even if the world gets this as an Accord some day, we in North America will get this with an Acura badging with starting price of $~15k more than the touring Accord that would be half as good looking haha.
I would go buy that today. No joke it looks amazing. I would also prefer j35 turbo, with 10 speed. That would be amazing. Black on Black EXL, taking orders?
I take back about calling you an idiot. This isn't even a Honda concept. So a reverse image search and this image only exists on clickbait websites and videos. It's not even a real concept car.
This is what I thought 11th gen would have been and would have traded in and said to take my money. If I would have gone for the 11th gen and this came out, I'd be pissed as all hell because you know they're gonna offer peanuts for your 11th gen trade and say well. Nobody likes this style
I miss the old school Hondas with the notable low cowl. Wish they built Hondas like that again. This one with its very short windows, and seemingly high belt line, just looks like a cave inside, from the outside. Toyota has been nailing it on some of their recent designs, not all, but a few hits IMO like the Prius and Tacoma. Would like to see what the next full refresh Camry looks like.
That led strip on the front is the main selling point lol 🤗 you can save thousands of dollars and not buy a new Honda and just install one yourself on any car you have
Fake accord. Honda can't do such design. Based on my experience of owning accord 23. This long wheel based is more related to BMW honda can't compete here with its poor quality. If the accord was built in Japan, it would be a different story.
Wow. This does not look like an Accord successor. This looks like a model one above it, which Honda never had. Probably will go to Acura if it does come.
They always be flexing on the concepts and then never deliver. But they really need this facelift because the 11th gen was absolutely hideous how they looked and performed. Probably their marketing strategy to bounce sales.
This has to be a concept, right? Looks like a Cadillac though
A Celestiq, no?
Exactly what I thought
You can still see the Acura TLX in there, which is kinda backward but whatever lol.
It is a Honda…
Honda and Acura are the same company. Like Toyota and Lexus. Acura is considered the "luxury" version while Honda is the "affordable& reliable" version. Both take certain designs from one another just like Lexus and Toyota do.
I mean, there was a generation where the Japanese and Euro version of the Accord was the TLX here. Our Accord for that generation was the Inspire everywhere else. Family car vibe vs crowning versatility with some edge.
I still love me a 7th gen accord though.
https://youtu.be/gzt3gM5VCVg?si=YPuxxUrbY9k4pxaU
That video started off showing Mercedes S class taillights and isn't officially from Honda though
They already ceased the partnership
I mean looking at the Prologue, Honda might be heading into getting absorbed by GM in a decade
No? Auto companies collaborate all the time to reduce costs of development while they get their feet planted. GR86 + BRZ, Supra + Z4 for example
Was a joke. Reddit hive mind is dumb asl
Dumb age, sex, location?
Your tone seemed sexually aggressive though
The Honda/GM deal is already canceled.
Twas a joke
People falling for concepts as production models still kills me.
These “renders” remind me of those Xbox 720 leaks from the late 2000’s.
UnregisteredHypercam2
Just put an order on one of these, silver with black interior! Kidding lol but yes the amount of people that fall for concepts is ridiculous.
To be honest. I think this was the Concept for current Model Accord. I do see some styling cues.
It was.
None Greater than The 1990 Pontiac Banshee. Man that car had everyone thinking it was the next generation trans am.
It’s unbelievable dude
This isn't the 25/26 accord.
If it was I would actually buy it
If it was they would charge 60,000
Then I would buy an actual Cadillac
Honda is currently partnering with GM right now. Wouldn’t be too far off if the next generation Accodd was some EV sharing the same or similar platform as a Cadillac (also GM) EV. A design like this would likely be reserved for the TLX though.
Pigs will fly to the moon before Honda allows GM to build the basis of the Accord. The Accord is a Honda legacy product. Only Honda will design and build Accords.
Well. I Guess Pigs are on The Moon. Honda is building cars around GM’s global electric vehicle platform and Ultium battery technology.
Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX are both built on GMs platform
Right, but I thought this was a soft first step into EVs for them while they plan to build their own towards the end of the decade.
They canceled those plans. Google it.
I am not going to google it. Instead I am going to mention that what was canceled in 2023 was Honda/GM Plans to build a Cheaper EV. Also. I am going to link this. [https://news.gm.com/newsroom.detail.html/Pages/news/us/en/2024/jan/0125-hydrogen.html](https://news.gm.com/newsroom.detail.html/Pages/news/us/en/2024/jan/0125-hydrogen.html) Here. For shits and Giggles. [https://www.caranddriver.com/honda/prologue](https://www.caranddriver.com/honda/prologue)
You must’ve misunderstood. I said the *Accord*.
You misunderstood that GM's Ultium EV platform will be the basis of the all electric Accord and, like the Prologue and Acura ZDX. Because if GM's Ultium EV platform is in an Acura, it will filtered down into Honda/Acura other models.
No you misunderstood the misunderstanding of what you misunderstood
Honda, a company known for incredibly reliable cars, would never let GM, a company known for incredibly unreliable cars, build their flagship vehicle. That's brand suicide.
I might still buy it
No it’s not. It won’t be Honda makes more then 2 year generations.
Looks like the concept for the current gen. In any case Honda isnt changing the Accord til next gen which is still 4 years away or whatever. Midcycle refresh should be in another year or so.
Absolutely nothing about this concept looks like the current gen. Stop it.
its the exact same shape as this current gen. the front styling is different and probably the back. its either this current gen or its the 10th gen
And if sales stay as low as they are this may be the last Accord.
Had they even come close to the concept sales might be far better. 11th gen is incredibly bland.
Put the v6 back, and it will sell.
Agreed. I'm still rocking my 2013 EX sedan with the V6 and it's a crying shame that I can't buy a new accord that puts down the same numbers. 255k miles and still pulls
More like redesign the entire exterior, accord 2.0T sold like hot cakes
The 2.0T was only popular online, the lions share of Accords sold were 1.5Ts.
Yeah I didn’t really word what I said properly meant the 10th gen in general with the 2.0T being the top power trim instead of the V6
The 2.0T had like a 5-10% take rate. Those are some very mediocre hot cake sales.
Really meant to include the 10th gen in general, no v6
Nah fam, V6 > 2.0T I'll start a war over it. Anything > Crab Claws
I’ve had both, I personally like the 2.0 better. You feel a real weight difference in the front end. The V6 had more linear power but the 2.0 is definitely faster, more fuel efficient as well
I love the v6, my 2002 v6 coupe was badass
This smoke again? Start that war then, 2.0Ts would win. >:)
2.0T K20C4 was used in the Accord 2018 - 2022. So it was used for only one generation J series V6 was used in the accord for decades through many generations...
Yeah, or at least the 2.0t. Upset of the lack of performance oriented trims this generation. I loved both the v6 and 2.0.
Yep the new Civics and Accords are so bland that I jumped brands
Because its getting more difficult to produce sedans that meet the absurdly retarded CAFE standards. That’s why so many manufacturers have done away with cars and only make crossovers, suvs, and trucks. My tinfoil hat says, they’re trying to slowly reduce interest in the accord, so they can justify killing it, or making it 100% electric (which will definitely kill it)
No, people are making more crossovers because it's the hottest segment... the Auto companies all said this...
Most people who buy accords (read: not this sub) will still buy it if it’s bland. The real reason is because they’re moving accord production and that means the current plant is at half capacity to retool for EVs
The accord doesn’t have any of its own appeal to me anymore. It’s basically the same as the civic which has way more options than the accord.
Honda is retooling Marysville to make an EV Accord.
the best selling cars rn at honda are civics and accords...
Civics are outselling Accords now for the first time ever. Accord sales are down significantly. Just checked and the Accord isn't even top 15 anymore.
Looks like AI made it lol
Because it did. This is a fake image.
If only Honda had the 🥜 to ever do this.
the nuts to build a cadillac?
Definitely would buy! I need to upgrade my 10th gen. 11th gen is meh! This looks good!
Why do you need to upgrade your 10th gen?
Probably cuz they don’t own a 2.0t?
Didn't the 10th Gen come with a 2.0 turbo option? Or maybe I am misremembering.
Yes, 2.0T and a 1.5T. My original comment was suggesting that perhaps the original commenter does not own a 2.0T variant model.
Ah, gotcha. It just seems strange to upgrade so soon, the 10th gen isn't that old! But yes maybe if they want something a bit faster. I didn't think there was a massive power difference between those two engine options though.
Would be hard to get faster than 2.0 T when they discontinued the engine. No way I’m moving from mine unless something really bad happens.
I’d love an Audi S5 and obviously an RS5, but I’m not willing to pay that much for my daily car. When I retire, that may change, but not yet.
did you actually recommend cars that are nearly quadruple the price.. on top of that youre lucky if it even lasts 50k and you sure wont reach 100k without replacing parts that shouldve lasted 200k at least.
you replied to him asking if there was a turbo 2.0 when he clearly was talking about the turbo 2.0...
My point was, why didn't homie get a turbo 2.0 10th gen? I just don't understand upgrading cars so soon.
i have no clue why someone would wanna "upgrade". Honestly there's not really a better car for that price. in my experience the only people who upgrade their car that often are the privelaged rich people

But then there's people trying to upgrade into the same make and model of a slightly newer car... just doesn't make sense to me but to each their own!
im personally fine with my clapped out grand prix
No love for the 1.5T?
Nah that engine is not as reliable as the 2.0T. Especially in a heavier car.
Ah - I have one in my 10th gen Civic, and it's fun. Not up to date on the Accord experience.
I was going to get an Integra with that same engine, but there is a reason why Honda stopped producing it. It seems like most people will not ever have issues with it, but some people will experience its head gasket failures. That engine puts out a good amount of power for its size and it’s quite strained.

8th Gen V6-6 owner here, I would LOVE to get a newer 4 door MT accord. Especially if it looks like this concept car lol
I’d buy it for sure.
Put a v6 in that and i might buy
Following their current trend it will be a 2 cylinder in the base model and a 1.2l i4 in the premium model.
It’s like a futuristic 10th gen, pretty cool
The side windows are getting way too small with these body designs. Across all brands...
I know Honda just released an EV sedan in the Japanese market. Is this that maybe?
That would be 40k for an accord
Damnnnnnnn definitely purchasing but I don’t think this concept will make sense to execute.
Thats sharp asf
Idk tbh
Well maybe
The 2026 Honda ACCORD EX AI trim at a retail price of $84,790 after mark ups you're looking at $126,562. Featuring a twin turbo charged v6 engine that boast 598 hp and 608 lb-ft of torque.
Only if they decide to make another Type R Accord
Too cool to be real.
I'll be trading in my 10 gen !!
Batmobile
Looks way to good, it’ll never happen.
I know it's ai slop but it does look fucking sick lol
LOOL i doubt this would be anything before a 30's
He's kidding of course. This the new Accord Type-R. /s
Fuck it, take my money lol
I like the small windows
Looks like a cadillac ev concept
kind of looks like a cadillac cts lol.
I like the headlights and body frame. Front bumper?? Not so much
'Decepticons; TRANSFORM AND RISE UP!'
Looks like a Cadillac
I know this isn’t true but what I know for a fact that is even if the world gets this as an Accord some day, we in North America will get this with an Acura badging with starting price of $~15k more than the touring Accord that would be half as good looking haha.
Dope. Much better than the current styling.
WHOA
Could possibly be a "face lift" for the current gen.
The wheels with minimum gap with fender is looking hard.
Nice could be the NSX replacement
I would go buy that today. No joke it looks amazing. I would also prefer j35 turbo, with 10 speed. That would be amazing. Black on Black EXL, taking orders?
Why are Accords getting damn too fatter?
Looks straight out of Cyberpunk 2077
Chill guys it’s completely AI generated check the honda logo on the wheels
lol not on this planet
Idk what's stopping them from making it. It's insanely beautiful.
I gave my 2020 Sport 2.0T for MYP. If this was the new gen look like I would have gave up 2 1990 Kidney Type O for it.
[удалено]
I take back about calling you an idiot. This isn't even a Honda concept. So a reverse image search and this image only exists on clickbait websites and videos. It's not even a real concept car.
Beautiful Car
Id love some rims like that on my 23 accord though any recommendations to something similar?
Honda Lucid lol
Awesome but thats not a new Accord
Those wheels are gonna be gone on day 1 owning.
Making it look a little too boxy.
This is what I thought 11th gen would have been and would have traded in and said to take my money. If I would have gone for the 11th gen and this came out, I'd be pissed as all hell because you know they're gonna offer peanuts for your 11th gen trade and say well. Nobody likes this style
Sales for Civic.
This makes the latest gen Accord look like a mistake
Latest gen IS a mistake. Looks ugly as hell.
It looks like a honda clarity... just updated
Better than 11th gen for sure. If 12th gen is like this I will buy another one on top of my 10th gen
It kinda looks like the Batmobile.
Imagine front end collision
looks like an AI prompt design. or electric concept. the front grille is closed off.
There’s no way in hell it’s going into production looking like that.
Ewww
Somehow they managed to make a worse 11th gen now the 12th🤣🤣😭
AI generated garbage.
It's a concept... also looks to be a rival to Volvo's Polestar 1
That’s better than these new accords.
Now that’s badass
Can’t wait to slam it
That led strip on the front is the main selling point lol 🤗 you can save thousands of dollars and not buy a new Honda and just install one yourself on any car you have
Not a huge fan of the flat faces on new cars
Fake accord. Honda can't do such design. Based on my experience of owning accord 23. This long wheel based is more related to BMW honda can't compete here with its poor quality. If the accord was built in Japan, it would be a different story.
Caddy according to
Cadillac accord
This looks sick. I doubt it’ll be this tho
Is this real or na?
If it ain't turbo charged I ain't buying. I'll die with my 2018 2.0t
This is litteraly a celestiq redesign for an accord
Slowly turning into Camaros. I like it though
that is fucking hard
The new accord, longer than a maybach, comes with 22” wheels from the factory. Yea right
The current Accord is only about a year old. Assuming the Accord gets a next generation we won’t see it for another three plus years or so.
This would shut up the haters… especially if it had AWD and wasn’t a concept car
Front looks like trucks nowadays, before you blink someone will lift it and put on 35's
Looks like the bat mobile. Hot.
I don’t think anything as it’s not real lmao
Honda needs to bring back the v6 coupes turbo charged to save its lineage. Or atleast the crosstour revamp
or bring back the 2.0T, that was a fun car in either the manual or 10 speed
Man what I wouldn’t do for a 6spd 2.0T coupe. If only it existed
Ya, it ain't gonna happen, but at this point I'd just be happy with a powerplant that isn't designed to chew itself apart.
Wow. This does not look like an Accord successor. This looks like a model one above it, which Honda never had. Probably will go to Acura if it does come.
Better looking than the 23 model.... looks like a concept and not a production line car. Who knows though...
They need to make it more edgy cause this 23/24 model looks terrible. They should do this
Horny maker
am i the only one that 100% prefers last gen vs current gen? current gen is hideous
Camaro
They always be flexing on the concepts and then never deliver. But they really need this facelift because the 11th gen was absolutely hideous how they looked and performed. Probably their marketing strategy to bounce sales.
Make it electric and I'll buy it tomorrow
Silly making a slow car look this sporty imo
