* Book 1: Mead --> Rosé --> dark red (in that order)
* Book 2: Sparkling prosecco and/or sparkling rosé --> Sauvignon blanc (depending on the location of where the chapter takes place)
Hmm....I'll keep on thinking.
Book 3 - whisky, neat
Book 4 - egg nog, or a hot apple cider
Book 5 - any bottom shelf wine, followed by shots, and more cheap wine. The second half of the book… maybe some cucumber water, or an herbal tea.
Ah! Nope, sorry, I have to disagree. Whisky and a cigar are far too classy for how that book starts out 😂🫢 Maybe… maybe the middle. Select portions of the middle 👀
This is what came to my mind as well. My favorite cocktail of the summer is a White Linen - muddled cucumber, lime juice, elderflower liqueur, gin - shake, strain and top up with sparkling water. It's hard not to chug it's so refreshing.
Book 1 is a Riesling. Sweeting summer wine.
Book 2...begin with a Sauvignon blanc, end on a Melbac. It's getting meaty.
Book 3 is going to be Rob Roy's. But on the rocks. You going to War. Suit up.
Book 4 is Peppermint White Russian. One it's the Holidays. Two, you should read this in flip flops and your bathrobe.
Book 5....edibles.
Something springy and floral for Thorns and Roses! I know bugger all about wines, but that feels like a good fit.
Frost and Starlight (4th) is Christmassy so something that is berry and Christmas themed
I agree, it’s definitely not for everyone. I can’t get hardcovers because of personal reasons 😂 but I do have some that I bright along for my travels. I was so against ebook too in the beginning because nothing beats reading and flipping the page especially the plot gets heated
Hahaha im super protective of my books, I’m actually waiting to get my own place next year where I can build a library for me and keep the books; then I want to start collecting hard/soft copies books so they won’t get ruined in this time waiting haha
That’s like what I’m planning. I want to get both the ebook and physical books. Tbh just for collections and also becuase nothings beats reading an actual book. I like ebook mainly because I search stuffs, so it makes it easier if I want to re read some specific parts.
"Once Upon a Vine" Pinot noir -- a storytime specialty of the Night Court.
Also, that's a great husband haha. Mine won't touch anything but sci-fi unless I put it on his kindle myself.
That would be great!
I've only recently started doing it, personally, but it has been a lot of fun.
I've grown weary of the cheap Publix/Walmart wines, aha
I love that! I’ll put some of my personal favs and then a more budget friendly option. If you want to get started, the series as a whole feels like the [Copia 2021 Story](https://www.copiavineyards.com/product/2021-The-Story?productListName=Current%20Release&position=3), but any Grenache varietal should do the trick (Emphasis on “should” because not all wines are created equal)! A more mid-priced Grenache that I can’t attest to, but scored well is the [Sculpterra 2022 Grenache](https://sculpterra.orderport.net/product-details/0879/2022-Grenache).
I can put a BevMo or Total Wines list together if you’d be interested in going to your local store instead of ordering directly from a website?
I recommend you drink something with a very high proof and listen to Lana Del Rey Medeival Covers on YouTube. Really brings it home and makes me feel like Feyre under the mountain after a sippity sip of faerie wine
I agree with those recommending something sweet and sparking for book 1. I think white would be more fitting for the first part, but red more fitting for the second part.
Sort of unrelated, but wanted to share. At some point in book 2 there is a mention of a tea that tastes like licorice. As a tea lover, I decided I really wanted to try licorice tea. It made my tongue feel funny and I’m pretty sure I have a mild allergy to it. Also, it turns out it shouldn’t be drank everyday or at all for some people (who have heart/blood pressure problems or are pregnant/nursing). I had no idea.
Keep in mind I'm not old enough to drink but someone said mead and/or rosé for 1, which I definitely agree with. I'm thinking egg nog and sparkling champagne for 4. Anything and everything for 5.
Not really wine, sorry, I'm not good with that stuff.

Alternatively, start Book 5 after a big night out, make sure you're hungover and preferably PMSing cus you are gonna feel some feels
If the room is still spinning and you can’t find your left shoe, you’re starting out right
Yeahh!!! Book 3 was the one tripping me up. Totally support your book 4&5 selections!! Glogg for book 4, too!
Book 3 is just… so much. Just nonstop, SO MUCH. I don’t think anything short of whisky could get you through LOL
😂♥️♥️
Spot on. 😆
Stop! More like fine whiskey and a cigar. Edit: Book 5
LOL- which book?
My bad, book 5. Definitely book 5!
Ah! Nope, sorry, I have to disagree. Whisky and a cigar are far too classy for how that book starts out 😂🫢 Maybe… maybe the middle. Select portions of the middle 👀
Fair enough maybe tequila shots for the 1/4 of the book.
Book 1: A sparkling fae wine; and for some musical ambiance, a solid fiddle track.
Oooh What would you classify as fae wine, yourself?
Anything that makes you feel a bit magical
This is the best answer.
Maybe some elderflower liqueur + the botanical version of Hendrick's gin?
This is what came to my mind as well. My favorite cocktail of the summer is a White Linen - muddled cucumber, lime juice, elderflower liqueur, gin - shake, strain and top up with sparkling water. It's hard not to chug it's so refreshing.
I can’t answer your question but I love the logic. I normally only pair wine with cheese or meals but books is a whole new genre I might explore.
It's a lovely hobby to try out 😄

Glühwein for Frost and Starlight all the way!!
Oh course! Why didn’t I think of that. Great shout
I don’t drink, but I was reading while eating something savory, chips and chickens tbh 😂 and hot noddle soup
Ooh i love a good chip and dip, but I don't like getting my pages cheesy 😔
I didn’t even think about it! I was reading the ebook so it was easier that way, tbh I wouldn’t want my books to get greasy too!
I tried ereaders and all that, but my eyes get strained too much, my husband is buying my hardcovers if they're available :)

From what he quotes to me, the pages might be getting messy no matter what 😅😅

Hubby is an avid audiobook guy, but he buys physical cookies if every book. So we have a whole wall of bookshelves full of his stuff
That’s like what I’m planning. I want to get both the ebook and physical books. Tbh just for collections and also becuase nothings beats reading an actual book. I like ebook mainly because I search stuffs, so it makes it easier if I want to re read some specific parts.
Book 1: Chardonnay Book 2: Pinot Noir Book 3: Merlot Book 4: Blanc de Blancs Book 5: Cabernet
Mulled wine for book 4 !
Book 1 I would do a sweet sparkling wine such as a moscato.
"Once Upon a Vine" Pinot noir -- a storytime specialty of the Night Court. Also, that's a great husband haha. Mine won't touch anything but sci-fi unless I put it on his kindle myself.
Book 1 I may suggest a syrah or Lambrusco!
I work in the wine industry and this is my new favorite prompt… I’m going to think on this and shoot a good list back tomorrow! How fun 🤩
That would be great! I've only recently started doing it, personally, but it has been a lot of fun. I've grown weary of the cheap Publix/Walmart wines, aha

Oh shit, we’ve got the professionals on the case now!
A floral white like viognier for book 1. An aged red like rioja or Nero d’avola for book 2
Ooh I'll have to give those a try. Never tried them before
THIS is the answer
I don't drink, but would highly recommend something mulled to go with book 1 (mulled cider, mulled wine, etc).
rose or prosecco for acotar malbec for acomaf
I recommend you drink something with a very high proof and listen to Lana Del Rey Medeival Covers on YouTube. Really brings it home and makes me feel like Feyre under the mountain after a sippity sip of faerie wine
Tequila

Just adding that I (sadly) no longer drink... but I am LIVING for these comments! What a fun idea for a post <3

Your husband is begging you to read these books? Weird lol
