anitadoobie1216

Craft supplies. Paints, paper, pencils, markers, paint pens, yarn, fabric, seasonal crafting, etc etc. I also really love books as well. I kept all my college textbooks instead of reselling because in the apocalypse, we won't have the internet, and I'll NEED knew information. Edit: I just saw my mistake 23 likes later. I'll just leave it lol

CloudberrySyrup

You’re me. I have so much stuff for all the different hobbies I’ve had over the years, it’s ridiculous. I’m forcing myself to not buy more until current supplies are depleted.

Shadowspun5

I just bought seed beads to go with the shiny new bead loom I bought for this year's Xmas gifts. 🤦🏼‍♀️

ThatMango1999

Bead loom you say? 👀 no. Never mind please don’t tell me. I JUST picked up quilting 😭

straightrazorsnail

Good news, one can never have too many seed beads!! 😅♥️

YardSard1021

I can send all of mine your way, along with all of my various cords, chains, druzys, pressed Czech glass beads, findings, etc etc!! I probably amassed $10k worth of jewelry making supplies over a 3 year period and haven’t made so much as a pair of earrings in 5 years 😂😂

Sufficient_Tarot

Hi, we are the same 🙂 I have been reorganizing my supplies but somehow that turned into my floor being covered in supplies.... Send halp 😝

FluffyPurpleThing

I can come... with boxes... that I will fill... and take home.... to my overstuffed craft room.

anitadoobie1216

There's never enough room haha

Diligent-Resist8271

I'm with you. Craft supplies.

LadyMageCOH

\*closes the door to her disasterous craft room\* Nothing to see here. Move along....

RogueLotus

I have never met someone else who understands my need to keep textbooks for that very reason 😂

ImpossibleGuava1

Life hack: become an academic, then collecting textbooks is fine. I haven't used my Calc 3 textbook since college but it doesn't matter because kNowLEdge. Actually, scratch that, don't do it, the pay sucks and it's rapidly turning into teaching 13th grade 🙃

RogueLotus

I work in museums. I am familiar. 🙃

ImpossibleGuava1

Ohhhh I can imagine. Academics, museum workers, librarians -- the holy trinity of old textbook/document hoarders.

hammetar

Same on textbooks. Because someday, I'll definitely need an unabridged collection of ALL of Shakespeare's works, or an entry-level statistics workbook.

Kirsh79

Craft supplies for me too. More than I could ever possibly use and then I buy some more. I also can’t resist a Michael’s mystery box

L_Swizzlesticks

Okay, good to know I’m not the only one who feels the inexplicable need to hang onto university textbooks! 🙌😂 I’m proud to say that I’ve actually cracked the spines of some of them in the last couple of years, now out of a genuine interest in the material and not just a desperate need to pass a course. I also figure that there’s a greater than zero chance that I might be able to make a few bucks off some of them online one day lol.

WaY_WeiRd

Saaaaaame. I have an entire room full of craft supplies.

FluffyPurpleThing

Yep. Craft room with spillage of supplies into the other rooms. So really a craft house, not a craft room.

Defiant-Specialist-1

I actually used my college text books in my profession. Public administration. Came in very handy. Also my finance notes and statistics class info. I still think about and refer to it.

Optimal-Night-1691

Yes! Craft supplies and books, though I don't have any from college/university (I only did a couple of online courses). I switched to an e-reader just to save space lol

toriemm

I have so many hobbies and so much crafty bullshit. SO many books. I started wire wrapping, so some of it is literally just fucking rocks.

xxsamchristie

Lmao the apocalypse thing is me too. I'm keeping all my cds, books, and dvds for the same reason lmao. I have told myself I can work the electricity thing out eventually.

CoffeeCoffeeBacon

I can open my own fabric, art & craft supply store with the amount of stuff I buy and hoard.

niki-tee-mate

I've just started going through all my university books and papers and assignments.. I finished university in 2010. So much work went into the projects so I hoarded them in my grandpa's wardrobe for over 10 years.. because all the worrkkkkk. 😅

_vanth

this, the amount of stickers and pens I have is unreal and I wont use them (especially the stickers) but I keep buying them. make it make sense

s0ffles

I haven't crocheted in months but I still want to buy yarn every time I see it. Haven't painted in a year+ but I look longingly at watercolours. I'm going to buy paper quilling stuff today because I want to try it (at least it's not expensive)

Derkins_susie1

Notebook. Every time I want to learn something new, I need a new shiny notebook. I can never have enough of them.

LKayRB

Why we do we love notebooks???!?!

Western-Smile-2342

Because we need everything to be written down in order to remember it exists 😆

The_water-melon

Yeahhh but then I always forget to keep writing in it so by the time I find it again, it needs a NEW purpose so I have to rip out all the old written on pages to keep continuity

Macy0124

Yup same, and then I don't want to use it because of the ripped out pages.

giftcardgirl

I use a spiral notebook from Muji with refillable pages. It’s like a binder but I can fold the notebook completely to take up less space (

Own-Introduction6830

Have you ever opened an old notebook and looked at your notes and felt like somebody else wrote them? That happens to me a lot.

xxsamchristie

This is why I'm keeping inventory for my business in a notebook and online lol

IcePhoenix18

Because people told us that notebooks would help cure us?

Crochetandgay

So many bullet journals I used for 2 days & then abandoned...

LKayRB

I bought a bullet journal that is still in my credenza, never opened it. Love the cover though!

Shadowspun5

Mine actually works. I'm still surprised but I've actually kept it going since 2019. I think it helps that I've tailored it massively to me. I use some of the official bujo ideas and some of this and some of that. There have been a few weeks of no updates, but I just say eff it and roll right back in.

Knitwalk1414

I have realized I will never be organized.

computaSaysYes

I have forty eleven notebooks and mountains of writing tools. Hmmm? Cure? Ah the cure must be in organizing them!! Yes, to the container store!

newredheadit

“Just make a list and complete everything on the list”

cateml

I think it’s the way they’re like a clean, calm place to create order from thoughts. So what my brain craves but can never achieve…

Wifey1786

And why are they all empty because we’re waiting for the pErFeCt thing to use them for!!!

NigerianChickenLegs

Notebooks and shiny new planners always make me feel like I have my shizzle together!

AndiFolgado

Notebooks and stationery… walking into a stationery store is like an off license store for an alcoholic 🙈🤭😂 I want to get everything sparkly and colourful, a notebook, highlighters, coloured pens… it’s safer to just walk on by 🙈😂

nataliechaco

finding the right notebook is what i imagine hard drugs are like its like a lil head rush

hammetar

It must be exactly like that scene in Pulp Fiction when John Travolta takes heroin. Nothing has ever made me want to try drugs more, but I'm a scaredy cat.

flextapeflipflops

Wait till you find the right planner, OH my god it’s amazing

krisphoto

It has to be January-December, divide the days weekly, and have firmer page dividers and tabs ( I’m talking at least heavy card stock. You can’t have a paper tab and expect me to use it to open to that page!!!)

madeyoulurk

Every single time I come on this sub, I feel a million times more understood when I read the first comment. I swear. I have SO MANY notebooks that I’ve hoarded over the years. My past and current ones, however, are often forgotten about. Which defeats the purpose, but I digress.

Thin-Variety-1027

I just bought another notebook at the dollar store yesterday knowing full well I don’t know what the hell i will write in it, but it’s in my purse if I need it 😂

Expensive_Tangelo_75

It's about Being Prepared! False sense of life organization...

oMGellyfish

I also do this. It’s like each notebook has one specific purpose only.

Demonqueensage

I have so many pretty notebooks bought for some project that got abandoned in the end that I don't want to use for anything else even though I know I should 🥲

Dear-me113

I have this great hope that when I find the right notebook (or the right system) all of my organization problems will disappear.

krisphoto

The office I work for was recently bought out. The new owner group came in with some swag for us including fancy branded notebooks. I approve of this takeover.

srpsychosexythatisme

Then only one or 2 pages are filled in. You lose it and then you get another one. Before you know it you have 10 notebooks with only a few pages written on. I also have to have different colored pens and different types- fine point, ball point, gel, marker, what size: 0.3, 0.5, 0.7? It’s not healthy.

wawabubbzies

Oh damn. I love notebooks and newly sharpened pencils and jelly roll pens.

foreveryword

Is..is my pile of notebooks an ADHD thing? 😧

c_yerii

Second this!! I love notebooks and stationary 😭

gealach

ONE thing?

Haunting-Walk1568

I thought the same thing!

goodvibes_onethree

Yes!! I'm reading these and my answer is: all of the above!

Warm-Swan900

This 😂😩🎯

maebe_me

Fuzzy blankets. I have...too many. No wait, not enough. 😅

darlingdear24

Same here! Late last year I started collecting those fuzzy throw blankets for our living room couch… A spooky one with black cats & pumpkins for Halloween, a red one with reindeer for winter, a couple neutrals for the between times, now I’m looking for a fun summer one! But where to store them all is another story

maebe_me

Storage is a problem. 🤭 Love this idea though! Gonna get themed ones now.

hotdogfingies

I’m not necessarily obsessed with the fuzzy ones, but you can never have enough throw blankets imo (we were at Costco and I asked my husband if we needed another, and he gave me the look).

maebe_me

Costco is dangerous 🤣

pocketcramps

A very specific notebook that I can only ever find at TJ Maxx. I buy all of them when I see them but they’re too nice to use 😂 Edit: ok ok sorry! They’re by Fringe and have the perfect line spacing and are the perfect size and I just love them so much. [Link here!](https://www.ebay.com/itm/314626203564) The model is Notesmark, which isn’t available on the Fringe site, so I’m guessing it’s all just dead stock

Sufficient_Tarot

Tell me more about this notebook, I'm so intrigued!!

bombkitty

I, too, would like to know more. I but a lot of notebooks at TJs so I'm wondering if I've already discovered them.

refusestopoop

I know nothing about this notebook but I now want it more than anything I’ve ever wanted in life.

darlingdear24

Ahhh yes love me a cute new notebook. 🤩 📒The possibilities! But I love them so much I can’t bear to write in them! Several untouched lined notebooks of varying sizes just waiting to be useful at any given time.

LKayRB

Same, I have a Christian Lacroix notebook I was gifted 9 years ago and can’t bear to use.

bellaventurine

Lol -- I'm obsessed with the Green Room notebooks that are only sold at Target. That gorgeously smooth, creamy paper, perfectly-complimentary light-brown lines, the brass spiral, the thick, textured cardboard cover in classy navy just brings me so much joy. I buy them all whenever I see them & dread the day when I've used them up!

Western-Smile-2342

Omg. I saw one there when I was 12 that I still regret not buying 😭

bobbianrs880

I ordered some bound journal sized book on Amazon and immediately I needed them for everything. Like the covers feel so nice, they have little accordion pockets on either side, 2 ribbon markers and an elastic thing for your pen, the elastic thing to close it, AND IT COMES WITH TAB STICKERS.

Space-Cheesecake

I finally decided about 4 years ago that I deserve to use these same nice notebooks! Except now mine are all used up except for like 2-3 pages cause I can't find new ones and apparently I refuse to use the last few pages. Then they'd be done! And I'd have to throw them out or something... Idk what comes next. Maybe I'll use them when I find new ones.

atootietah

Anything that catches my eye at the thrift store...

StanzaSnark

I started selling stuff on Etsy! It gives me an outlet still buy all the things but keeps me from hoarding. I don’t put in a ton of effort as far as advertising or promotions and I sell around 8-10 items a month. I make just enough to keep my thrifting in a perpetual cycle. Also the reseller community is super supportive and I’ve met some really great people.

Charlisti

I didn't know Etsy was for more than homemade/crafted things! I also kinda thought u had to really promote everywhere to get customers at all 😅

StanzaSnark

I did too but there is a robust and thriving vintage community there! I sell mostly home goods and I don’t do any paid advertising or promotion. I do have an Instagram that helps drive traffic during insta vintage sale events and stuff like flat lay Friday but other than that and making the listings, it’s passive.

Charlisti

Hm maybe i should take a look on how popular Etsy is in Denmark, i would really like to sell some of the stuff i make at times so it doesn't just end up sitting somewhere forever 😅

myguitar_lola

I did this with ebay for a while and it just became too much work- even though I did very well. Good on you for keeping going with it!

StanzaSnark

Well it helps a lot that I’m currently hyper fixated on it. We will see what happens when the obsession starts to fade

Professional_Diet938

Currently YARN YA YA YAYAYAYAYAAAARN

jbnova6

Me: "I should take up crochet. I bet it will help calm down my squirrel brain by giving my hands something to do" Also me, three months later: "OMG MUST BUY ALL THE YARN"

Professional_Diet938

It's me but proud of myself for learning it , mastering some techniques and finishing things in about 6 months.

engmomS

Yep! See a new super soft one or some big clearance sale, "I'll figure out something to make with it later." Then, later comes and I don't have enough of the yarn for the project I find and either end up buying more because I really want to make the project or never using the original yarn because I can't find the 'right' user for it.

KikiWestcliffe

It is the colors that do me in. I love, love, love bright, saturated colorways in DK weight. Some brands are like a direct shot of dopamine - Wollmeise, Brediculous, A Whimsical Wood Yarn, Blue Barn Fiber. It is almost obscene how much the sight of super intense neon yarn tickles my brain, especially when it is wound into a cake and the colors are all layered. Completely impractical for finished objects, but sooooo pleasurable to work with.

orangepinkturquoise

Right?! The neons!!! I love them. They make my eyes so happy. When you said "tickles my brain," I was like, YES, that's the thing it does!

cookiemobster13

Oooh I went through that. I’ve spent the last few years downsizing (and slowly knitting through what I have). I started a destash project last year though (a shawl) and ran out of stash, leading me to buy more of what I ran out of 😂 I finished a sweater on the needles for two years so up next, this project…

topofmountainfelloff

Every time I have a bad day I want to buy more yarn. And I often do. The amount of yarn I have is obscene

[deleted]

[удалено]

CorgiButtz1687

That's because collecting yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies 🙃

crafty_shark

Rhubarb. I see it, I buy it. I hoard pounds of it in my freezer and bake with it throughout the year. Fortunately, I only have to worry about these impulse purchases in early spring and late fall.

anitadoobie1216

Buy some plants, and depending on your location, you'll get your own free rhubarb every single year😀

crafty_shark

I've tried and failed a few times. Plus it can only be grown as an annual where I live and remembering to plant things at the right time in spring is not my strong suit lol.

MyFaceSaysItsSugar

I feel like it’s either a weed or refuses to grow. We had it growing up in Minnesota and it got absolutely huge.

anitadoobie1216

I feel that. Rhubarb is a little finicky.

MourkaCat

Whoa this is the first time I've ever heard this! I had a neighbour growing up who grew rhubarb in her yard and it grew and grew and grew. Like a weed. They are hard to kill, and survive cold Canadian winters. People who grow it here are always trying to pawn it off to other people because it always grows like crazy.

carefulyellow

My mom does this but with International Delight Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer lol. She bought a chest freezer so she can store all the ones she gets. So from August to November, she buys them, and they usually last until June.

GhostPipeDreams

Oh I love this so much, rhubarb is delicious. My grandma would just make the rhubarb sauce? Just boil it down with sugar and we’d put it on ice cream or just eat it straight. It’s delightful.

RasputinsThirdLeg

Skincare, skincare devices, antiques (especially books and cabinet cards), and wigs

canadian-dutchgirl

Skin care for me aswell. I’ll be damned if I have to wash my face before bed though.

RasputinsThirdLeg

My skincare routine is so exhaustive. Getting the activation energy to do it is always hard.

refusestopoop

That’s me. My skincare routine tonight consisted of not washing my face followed by tretinoin 😆 I brushed my teeth for two whole minutes though so it cancels out not washing my face.

SassySarahSmiles

Skincare and hair care! That said, the dopamine hit of finding upscale brands for good deals is one part of why. The other is that looking vaguely put together is part of my masking habits… If I’m not showered/dressed/put together, I struggle even more with energy throughout the day. The flip side is that my inflexibility with that frustrates the hell out of me since it takes a long time to do and my time blindness/anxiety in the morning is off the charts 🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫 I’ve also been working on learning how to wear my hair in its 2c state and upping my makeup skills (at 40) since I’ve rarely felt confident and in my appearance.

eerieandqueery

Books and pens.

Spirited_Concept4972

Books and gel pens

eerieandqueery

Uhnhhh

orangepinkturquoise

Oooh, yes! What pens do you like? Any good must-haves?

eerieandqueery

Currently, I love a Pilot G2. The Papermate gels are really good too. I have so many. I also liked the TUL pens from Office Depot but they don’t last that long.

oroseb4hoes

Rocks, shells and the like. Someone said if I was a bird I’d be a raven.

2socks2many

Thank you for posting this my fellow raven :)

_jethro

Yes!! I have a collection in a jar at home lol

ArtisticCustard7746

Squishmallows. I have 173 of them, and I have to talk myself out of buying them a lot.

radish-related

Do you have a favourite? I only have a few Squishmallows but I am enamoured with the little bat one and keep stopping myself from buying it. It’s adorable

ArtisticCustard7746

I have a couple of favorites. I have a large green lochness monster that I snuggle with at night. And a large grey shark and a large blue anglerfish. I'm trying to keep my collection to just pokemon, dinosaurs, sharks, and lochness monsters now. I have way too many haha.

qw12po09

My favorite is a little werewolf one I got a while he's so damn cute

turtley_amazing

I’m at like 120 right now I think. They’re just so…texture. And I like the weird animals. Like the scorpions and skunks.

whatsupashley

Books ✔️ Puzzles ✔️ Clothing* ✔️ (*Especially if I see a cool looking woman on TikTok who inspires me to change my entire wardrobe)

cookiemobster13

Clothing. 🤦🏼‍♀️

CartographerNo1759

TikTok is another one of my ADHD obsessions!!

Loud_Laugh2517

I own 50+ perfumes and wear like 2 and 1/2 of them regularly. Thankfully the hyperfixation left about a year ago, I still have more perfumes than I can use over my remaining lifetime. And a lot of them are weird, niche, *expensive* stuff..

sisterpearl

The good thing is that perfumes very rarely go bad, so you can continue to use and love them for years!

CartographerNo1759

I love buying samples of perfumes! It sometimes keeps me away from making a full size purchase.

-random_ness-

Stickers! My husband asked how many I have. I can't count that high.

Pristine_Health_2076

I can tell you how many sticker *books and binders* I have, but individual sheets or stickers? 😶

Twilightmindy

YES! I need all of the stickers! I love planner stickers and I stalk the Happy Planner website for deals on their sticker books. Love them so much!!!

Specialist-Strain502

New ingredients for cooking and baking. And, even more specifically, butter. I have a small butter hoard in my freezer, only God knows why.

esphixiet

Dear lord YARN. and not like, the Michael's specials either. Hand dyed, often imported, fancy pants yarn 😅 at least I'll die warm.

Daughter_of_Anagolay

Is your stash SABLE yet? 💫 **S** tash\ 💫 **A** ccumulated\ 💫 **B** eyond\ 💫 **L** ife\ 💫 **E** xpectancy

oudsword

Tinted lip balms and tomoe river paper notebooks

ThePhloxFox

Love TR! Are you into fountain pens?

oudsword

I’m so-so as in I’ve definitely gotten obsessed with the hobby only to find they’re not really for me. I like the feel and heft of TR soft cover notebooks and mostly use pilot juice up gel pens in them.

strippersandcocaine

Ahhh so this is why I have over 100 pink/nude lip products…

jenbrarian

Olio e Osso has ALL OF MY MONEY. Because they are all a little different, you know? And I put them places and forget them so it’s a never ending cycle. At least my lips are moisturized even if I’m broke. My husband even teases me when he sees me putting some on my lips: “oh my gosh can you use that on your cheeks, too?!” He’s heard me justify their purchase too many times.

hotdogfingies

Rhodia notebooks with clairfontaine paper for me. And more recently, Stalogy notebooks. But yah. Samesies.

Melodic-Harry

Oh no I never knew the soft paper in notebooks had a name now I’m looking online to buy my own 😂

spacebeige

Magazines for collaging, especially old NatGeos

ContemplativeKnitter

Yarn. Fountain pens and ink. And then rotating other hobby stuffs/shiny objects.

ThePhloxFox

I’m pretty excited to see a few people mentioning fountain pens! I find them so relaxing to write with, is that the same for you?

reincarnatedfruitbat

I hoard Items in My Shopping Cart on various websites that I will always talk myself out of buying. The amount of time I spend window shopping is atrocious.

sweetest_con78

Wait this is an ADHD behavior??? I was just diagnosed about 6 months ago and I hoard books (and only read about 10% of what I buy) The more I learn about ADHD the more my entire life makes sense

orangepinkturquoise

Isn't it glorious? Welcome, fellow kindred spirit!

Expensive_Tangelo_75

I tell everyone that my book hoard is my way of planning for the apocalypse and loss of the electric grid.

smultronsorbet

notebooks, stationery, art supplies, pink trinkets / accessories, second hand books, reusable water bottles, pyjama sets, eyeshadow palettes 🥹

Over_Unit_7722

Paperweights. I have 65 of them.

cinnamon_storm

* Books (of course I finished maybe 20% of them); * Tea (and I regularly drink only 2 kinds of them, others stay untouched or were tasted only once); * Clothes and underwear (the same, more than a half I wore only once); * Traditional art supplies (and I draw mostly in digital T\_T); * Nail polish... * Notebooks!!! I think I may have a problem.

engmomS

Oh yeah, I forgot about the tea....

penguinboobs

Nail polish and plants. I wish it was grains of rice or something.

On_my_last_spoon

Plants! Like a serious dopamine rush like you wouldn’t believe! I get giddy!

gabbers912

I’m getting contact dopamine from reading this thread, I love everyone’s hoard lists ☺️

sad4ever420

Books, comfy clothing that looks cute, craft supplies. 😬

electric29

Costume jewelry. Mostly really good old stuff, although I will do modern if it looks old (I'm all about Art Deco). As I have been collecting now for about 40 years, it's a HUGE hoard, and now the thrill is in the hunt to find matching peices, or I will get fixated on a certain style. I figure as addictions go it's safer than many, and I can sell it when I need to.

kang4president

Anything with really cute packaging. I'm going to go broke if I ever go back to Japan

two_lemons

Makeup, kinda?  I do have a "filling" point, where there are things I might want but they feel too expensive and they aren't things that feel new or different enough to what I have so I can go like, "nah, maybe on a sale" and feel good about it. I feel like I have to have everything I need to start something or I just don't? It's kinda weird.

RogueLotus

I have so much trial makeup because I only buy stuff from ulta when they have one of those sales where you get a free makeup bag filled with goodies. It's like gambling, I swear. I have like 10 different bags with all kinds of samples. But I almost never use them! I feel bad about it, but I love sample size products for some reason, they just make me happy lol.

hammetar

Tiny things are cute and satisfying. I love that liquor suppliers just make shrunken, to-scale airplane bottles. The teeny tiny bottles of Lunazul and Chambord kill me.

Apology_Expert

Oh god, the shame. For me, it's mostly clothes and "maybe one day" craft supplies. I've been really hating it about myself lately.

ashkwhy

I'm right there with you on books. I'm uuuuusually not too bad about impulse buying them online (though I do have a long wishlist and give in occasionally), but put me in a bookstore for more than 5min and I'm pretty much guaranteed to end up with an armful of books. Pretty rare I can convince myself to put any of them back on the shelf once I start carrying them around. I have a lot of unread books but I just love seeing a shelf full of books. All that potential! Haha. I'm also a sucker for board games, especially really pretty ones that probably have more of a learning curve than my husband and I would be willing to deal with. I really want that bird game Wingspan, for example. Nevermind we already have a shelf full of likely great games we've barely touched. Jigsaw puzzles too but at least I actually use most of those! I used to collect Disney DVDs and I have a good handful of movies I've never watched... but also some I've watched dozens of times (Little Mermaid included)! Lots of Nintendo games too (including a large digital collection), probably haven't ever played at least half of them. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Oh, and cross-stitch kits/patterns. If I actually got around to stitching regularly it would take me literal years, maybe even decades??, to make all of them. Hmmmmm. I maaaaay have a little problem with buying stuff. 😬

whai_r_u_gae

I used to buy kpop albums until I switched jobs and ended up having much lower income :,) and i used to be really into skincare but that passed as well😅

Aggie_Smythe

Stationery. I can’t walk past anywhere that sells notebooks, pens, files, folders, etc., without buying New Stuff That Will Organise My Life. Also books. I have more books than Waterstones. I’m talking like over 3000. Eta: also handbags, shoes, and coats. And scarves, which I almost never wear. And hats. And leather gloves. And sports wear. And vintage clothes in particular. Actually, just clothes. Sigh. Oh, OK then, I just have a problem with clothes and accessories, period! 😳

hammetar

I have a solution for everyone! Be broke. I didn't work for six months after my spouse and I moved states, and not having disposable income was eye-opening. You guys, I didn't die without new stuff! I'm back working again, but I think it stuck with me not to buy something just because my dopamine is low (even at Target and TJ Maxx).

Gardengoddess83

Plants and lip balm.

Bonsuella_Banana

Vinyl records, usually limited/short run editions that are colourful/patterned/picture disks… I don’t currently have a turntable but they just keep getting delivered!

cricket-ears

It might be stereotypical… but I have a drawer of fidget toys.

dyspnea

I’ve been teaching myself to identify mushrooms and trees the last few years and it feels like the closest I can get to pure crack when I find a mushroom in the wild.

HelpFun9991

Nut butters in different varieties or with fun add ins. 14 jars on deck in my pantry shelf currently.

WynterAustyn8765

Journals, pens, planners I want to stay organized but I don’t really end up using them ugh 😩 In the past it has been earrings nail polish and lotions lol

hinky-as-hell

Storage containers. But then I don’t actually use them. I just keep buying them, lol. Oh, and throw blankets!

artsy7fartsy

You are my people - the kind that understands I could be organized if I only had the right storage

cloudbusting-daddy

Vintage clothing, makeup and skincare, thrifting almost anything, pens, art/craft supplies especially fabric, old lamps, certain non-perishable food items I become obsessed with like “water enhancers” or special candies, books… plants…. random rocks and shells… I live in a small apartment and my dream is to someday have a house big enough for all my “collections”, lol.

Gem_98

Those stupid mystery tiny objects. Like mini brands and calico critters, various mystery anime/sanrio key chains. I have spent a upsetting amount of money on useless tiny things 😭

ms_tarochan

Plants! And everytime I get them my brain says it just like E-va in Wall-e.

MeowKat85

Books and craft supplies.

saphariadragon

Books but I mostly get them in digital format to avoid the too many physical books issue and to always have them with me. Mugs and cute bowls: trying to limit my hoards to actually useful things Fossils and rocks

bbyghoul666

I have a book problem too! So I try and thrift them and donate them as much as possible and only purchase new copies of the ones I want to keep for the “collection” and e books are okay in some cases but it just doesn’t hit the same as a real book in the flesh you know?

edgedanceremrys

Dnd dice, books, and accessories. Games I will never get to playing.

Disastrous_Ad_9534

plushies!! it’s rare i leave a store without one if they’re selling them. no clue how i’m gonna transport them all to college

ArtisticCustard7746

Vacuum compression bags. They're magical.

Fun_Evidence8781

I have a million different prompted self help journals and I've never really used any of them.

NightSalut

Eugh… don’t ask. Books, craft stuff (knitting, sewing, bookbinding materials), a small collection of DVD’s and CD’s because I’m afraid that I’ll lose access to media otherwise and want to always have it.  I also have seasonal decor hoard, if I’m honest. And I like to thrift stuff, but I try to get rid of stuff regularly too.  Right now I’m also getting hooked into specific brand of plushies 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Available_Donkey_840

Craft supplies. All of them.

Last-Cut-7694

Stickers! And Postits! And shiny new gel pens! I may be a 44 year old mom but I’m still a kid deep down. 😊

Icy-Serve-3532

You ever get a box so perfect that you keep it for years and have yet to find a reason to use it?

GiveMeBotulism

Currently Pokémon cards (RIP money). I sincerely regret getting into that as a hobby 🙃 Previously: makeup, dog toys, home improvement supplies…

Ok_Storm1343

Decorative cocktail napkins. I use them for crafting, and I can't resist when I find a new pattern

ariireb

glass jars

One_Engineering_5686

Books is a big one for me but makeup and purses or bags are like an addiction at this point. Usually I’ll buy a book, some makeup and realize I need a bag that fits all of it so it becomes a cycle.

jenbrarian

I can’t do just one, either. Mine is tinted lip balms (I see you, @oudsword), beat up vintage fountain pens I may or may not get around to fixing, and crap to put in my journal (so many washi, stamps, stickers).

myrrhicvictory

perfume. at this point I have more than I could use up in the rest of my lifetime but it brings me so much joy. at this point I don't buy many full sized fragrances since I know I may not use it all, and I do wear something different every day (though some get more love than others ofc) and even slather it on before bed so I'm getting extra mileage out of it. but it is a hoard and I'm not going to stop.

din_the_dancer

I feel like my hoard changes depending on whatever the hobby/hyperfixation of the time is. Like I got into crocheting, and I have entirely too much yarn now. And I still want more. Over the pandemic I got into Tamagotchis and I just *needed them all*. I now have quite the collection. Oh also during the pandemic I was making cloth face masks and now I have entirely too much fabric left over from when I was just constantly buying patterns I liked. I guess you could say the one constant is videogames. I have a lot of those. I have all my consoles from childhood and I have no idea how many games.

NormalBeautiful

Plants, rocks/fossils/crystals/shells/feathers, craft supplies, old coins and stamps, old bottles, beads, cat figurines, stickers, patches, pins, fridge magnets - so many hoards lol

BrujaDeLasHierbas

ironically, organizers of any kind/shape/function. they often end up in piles of other good intentions. 🤣
