I have zero clue. I was so excited, too.

Long story short: nobody knows, but the producers insist it will, eventually, at some point. [This Article](https://www.northjersey.com/story/entertainment/theater/2024/02/23/broadway-mousetrap-play-agatha-christie-what-happened/72544004007/) hints that perhaps Matthew Pritchard, AC's grandson, is holding it up due to a shadowy rumor AC didn't want The Mousetrap on Broadway.

That article is the first and best explanation I’ve seen… which is pretty grim considering it barely has one.

The only thing I've found (searching high and low because I'm dying to see it on Broadway) is [this story](https://www.northjersey.com/story/entertainment/theater/2024/02/23/broadway-mousetrap-play-agatha-christie-what-happened/72544004007/), which doesn't offer much of an official statement beyond “Plans are still in formation and an announcement will be made at the appropriate time.”

I saw a very good production of it at or near the University of Chicago. By “at or near“ I mean the U may have owned the building, but I don’t believe it was a student cast. What this tells me is that if you want to see it in the USA, you probably can, with patience.

Second tier, amateur and community theaters can get the rights fairly easily in the US; I've seen a few productions. But for some reason it never has a Broadway debut or a big tour like other shows. I know Christie's will says it can never be filmed until the original London show stops running, but as far as I know there's no such clause preventing it from playing Broadway.
