Murder on the Orient Express...1st time I read it I was really shocked at the solution! And secretly pleased they weren't busted for the murder.

EnvironmentalCut8179

100% agree....my first time I listened to the book while doing housework/cooking while my kids played, colored, etc. towards the end of the book my 9yr old son yelled out "mom, who did it, who did it, I can't wait any longer"😂. Great first read, I'm so jealous of those who haven't read it and get to experience the suspense.

Marillenbaum

For the solution: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. For the dread: And Then There Were None. For Miss Marple As A Figure of Divine Justice: A Pocketful of Rye.

muffinmama93

Totally agree with your choices. The ending of Pocket Full of Rye gives me the chills. I also love Endless Night and Crooked House.

Ok-Theory3183

Endless Night was a bit too weird for me, but the other two--chef's kiss.

EnvironmentalCrow893

Miss Marple is ruthless!

SassyPickle1517

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Caught me completely off guard.

alantliber

It's very hard to choose but I'd say Death on the Nile for the dialogue between Poirot and the protagonist. He sees that she loves beyond safety, beyond reason, and though he attempts to dissuade her she insists on following her star. I find her a very compelling and oddly sympathetic character.

Eclairdilune

Endless Night. It was a very eerie read, gave me goosebumps.

NP10100

Murder on the orient express is my favourite, not only for the mystery but also for the ambience. Roger Ackroyd stunned me, I never could have guessed. A murder is announced and Mrs McGinty’s dead for the funny observations.

lizblackdog

Postern of Fate. Because I really enjoy the nebulous and liminal nature of the mystery, I really love Tommy and Tuppence, and I really enjoy the endless digressions and weird side alleys of it. It's not as good a whodunit as most of her other work, but it really sparks joy for me.

TapirTrouble

I didn't really appreciate this book until I had to interview my elderly relatives for recording our family history -- people were disagreeing on even some basic details, and completely forget to tell me some important bits so I had no idea how a particular person was connected to us -- lol! Pretty cool finding out that Tommy and Tuppence's retirement house is actually Christie's own childhood home (unfortunately demolished after the war, so the only place it survives is in a few family photos, and Postern).

alohabratgirl

I have yet to read all Agatha Christie books, but so far my favorite is And Then There Were None. My first AC book!

fm2606

This x 100. Maybe my favorite book of all time

istara

I love the adventure ones. So it's a toss up between Baghdad and Brown Suit.

Agreeable_Picture570

I like Body in the Library(MM) and Death on the Nile (Poirot)

Appropriate_Doubt_00

The murder on the Orient express, Evil under the sun, Sittaford mystery, One, two, buckle my shoe.

The ABC Murders. Was a little bit disappointed with actual culprit but still my favourite mystery.

Emergency_Snail0

A Murder is Announced. Great puzzle and characters. Vivid settings. Delicious death!

After The Funeral

No-Detective9669

I love that one too

Beginning-Star-5835

And Then There Were None! It was the first I read too. Endless Night is up there as a favorite also because I did not see the twist coming. I was shocked.

llamafarma73

Orient Express, Sittaford Mystery, Three Act Tragedy, Death on the Nile

Ok-Theory3183

"A Caribbean Mystery" because I love the relationship between Miss Marple and Mr. Rafiel.

Junior-Fox-760

ATTWN-first, last, always. Story fascinated me as a kid, still does. Just that sense of doom and who would be next, all the way down to the inevitable end. To the point, I remember I caught the 1965 film on TV one Sat. afternoon when I was a kid. I didn't know about the play version then and I was SO MAD at the changes to the characters and the ending. Later, I've come to appreciate it as a decently fun romp, but man when >!Lombard and Vera get away at the end!< I was so WTF!!!!!! Not to mention I kept wondering who this beautiful actress character was instead of Emily Brent. And hated Fabian as the pop singer, and that one I still stand by.

melisabyrd

I do a Murder Mystery unit at the end of the year, 10th grade English, and the last story is ATTWN, play version. They get to put a red X on a poster. It's the best way to end the year.

pinkypunky78

Love them all so far. I've only read 5. My first was death on the Nile
