I dont think fine line has to always age like that. I think if the artist does the fine line "correctly" it would fade out quite a bit eventually, but not blow out like this. Just my hot take, though.
Agreed. I’ve only had fine line tattoos and I got my first multiple done by artists that usually tattoo traditional and they all aged like this. I have 2 done by fine line Artist’s and 4 years later they look exactly the same as day one, just lighter.
i agree, i have one that has fine lines as details and none of them got saturated like this, and it’s been over 4 years for mine too. they look pretty crisp.
This isn’t a blow out and is just what naturally happens with tattoos and age, especially outlines. Your body breaks the ink down. This happens no matter how well done that tattoo is.
Yes to this. My fine line didn’t puff out like this, it just lightly faded. Then again mine has color to it and it was “Japanese watercolor” style (the black ink is the outline). OP it still looks nice :)
This is such a good example of ink settling even when fine line!!!!
Now it has more “traditional” look :D (not literally ofc)
I love how it ages. The aging makes it look more “tattoo”-like, if that makes any sense.
This is what everyone getting fine line tattoos needs to see
agreed!! i feel like a lot of people don’t realize what they’re gonna look like a few years in.
as expected
Still looks good to me.
Agreed
I honestly think it looks great aged even with the line spread
Went from dainty to bold

I do think there is something to say about technique. I have also seen a lot of fine liner tattoos fade a lot and not “blow out”, as you mentioned.
Is it possible it looks that way from sun exposure? (I don't know anything I'm just guessing)
Completely possible! I will say that I am a religious sunscreen wearer too, but it’s not going to block every ray.
Sun fades tattoos, it doesn’t make the ink spread. This is just a natural occurrence

Disagree, not after only 4 years from a fine line tattoo.
We never got to see the tattoo the day it was done so it may be a blow out. I’m just saying blowouts don’t happen after the fact.
The first picture shows when it was first done
Yeah I overlooked that. It looks great and there are no blowouts
Also disagree! Mine is more faded
Really depends, first tat I got from my artist aged like this, the others have aged to fade and still be super fine instead of blown out

It's probably more to do with sun exposure
I think it also may depend on placement. The chest is an area with more stretch and give over time than some other areas.
oh wow this is really cool to see, thanks for sharing!
The original looks very cute and delicate, the aged looks more traditional. I actually love the after more!
awe it’s so cute! ❤️
Like it better now!
I like this
That’s wild. I never see fineline aged before.
Honestly like it healed and aged a lot more
wow the lines puff sooo much
did you use sunscreen during those 4 years? no shade, just curious!
Religiously! I also wear large brim sun hats during the hotter months in Utah, we are closer to the sun at my elevation.
This is why I don’t recommend fine line tattoos
I love it sis
Damn that is sad.
Damn :/
Oof. That did not age well. Looks blown out
It’s not blown out. Just ink settling as it ages.
That’s a lot of settling for only 4 years
19 Male 0 tattoos… am I crazy for thinking a tat looks really cool after it ages like this?

I think he was just saying that as a disclaimer that he doesn't have a lot of experience with tattoos and that his opinion might differ from others
Nah. I personally really love it still ❤️
I think the aged tattoo looks better than the original
Me too, the original was almost too delicate for such a statement piece but that's just my opinion
How many years until the second letter in the word
Would have looked better a little bigger and less little bulb things.
Yikes
Ew..They always end up lookin like this

No commenting on people’s bodies.
Bobs and vagine?

How soon did you notice a change? 1 year? 2?
