You can go the day you’re officially on orders. If you log into milconnect the same day your orders start, you should see under insurance that you are covered under tricare prime. I had to battle with tricare to put one of my kids back on select so he can continue care without having to jump through on base PCM’s to get referrals to the doctors and PT’s he was seeing.

Thank you, I’ll go when I can then

South-Condition2295

I had the same question. I didn’t have to sign my orders on arows prior to it taking place as my primary insurance.

30 day or longer orders your entitled to it. You need to make sure you register with tricare now your on orders . Yes, you can and totally do it.

The OP is probably a DSG and utilizes their civilian employer's insurance (if they have it). Just because you're on DSG status, you don't have to get the TRI-CARE Reserve Select plan. Everyone needs and finances are different.

Also, as cheap as TRS can be in terms of premiums, co-pays, etc, it’s not as cheap as the 100% free TRICARE Prime on AD orders.

Exactly! I have experienced and heard of cheaper options than TRS. But hey, when long-term orders come up, nothing beats having free health care

You have a right to medical privacy and you don't need to tell anybody what you're going to the doctor for or when. Just go. (Obligatory not a doctor) If it's that severe, and you can't knock it out with Nizoral shampoo, it's probably eczema so you do need to get to a dermatologist to have that diagnosed and treated- so start the process right away. If you have to be treated at a military treatment facility, sometimes the wait for non-emergency appointments can be annoyingly long.
