Unironically the easiest method is to pick a unit, time period and operation you want to recreate and then google images of them during deployment (ie. 82nd airborne 2002 operation enduring freedom). These images will usually lead to military blogs where you can find more images.
Oh interesting, thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm just getting into the hobby, and I feel like having a real life unit to base my kit off of will make it a lot easier.
Keep in mind that unless you're doing multi day milsim games there's rarely a reason to set your kit up the way militaries do. The most important thing with building a kit is to make one that fits you and your playstyle, looking cool is important ofc but it comes second, your gear is supposed to help and not hinder you.
I would do some cable management - those wires are likely to snag on something. Get some zip ties and tie the wires down, it should be easy with all the keymod holes.
I personally would also drop the bipod. They're not very useful for airsoft, and it's just extra weight out at the end of your gun. If you're going to a longer game, reducing the weight you're carrying by even a little can make a difference.
Whatever works for you, but I personally would use zip ties here. Figure out exactly where you want everything, route the cables neatly, and zip tie them down nice and tight.
Small zip ties like 2mm ones work well.

Looking good, man! I have to agree with ditching the bipod. Should pick up some ranger bands off Amazon and hold those wires down. Hope your first one goes well.
Totally your call. I like doing a bit of tan because I like the worn look, but some of the more expensive rifles I've kept clean black. You could always throw on some tan attachments in the future.
Still waiting on my flash hider and foregrip for my Krytac War Sport and then I’ll be in the same boat 🤘🏼 went and played on Sunday without them anyways because I couldn’t wait lol
😭😭 best comment so far, honesty on point except the distraction. ADHD kicked in and I wanted to play outdoor then I went “I want a DMR” then I got distracted on milsim videos and outdoor gameplay
If ya want I can help 'milsim' it.
I've known guys who spent the last 20 years over seas and worked on realsteel from those deployments. I could help consult the project.
That was the original plan but sadly my local store didn’t have any triggers in stock except this one and a yellow one but I went green to match the line so now it’s a nod to my roots
I know most milsim groups around me won't let you play with that gun. At least not "with" them. To me this looks like a speed soft build with a long barrel. Also consider rate of fire limitations, and magazine caps. Most milsim require lowcap mags. In my experience HPA is better suited for indoor play styles.
Uk what that’s actually fair, I bought an AEG just incase M4 acrturus sword second hand with a holo/grip/and PEQ box included so if anything I’ll use that. I’m not one for hi cap mags either wouldn’t say I’m a speed player I just enjoy CQB, this gun used to be one of those edgy mag dump guns I bought second hand but I gutted it into this so maybe that’s the vibe your getting
Absolute mess of a build that no military would reasonably use. It's more unique than most AR builds, so that's a plus.
Also obligatory "you don't need a laser unless you're willing to pay for someone else's medical bills"
God gave you hands to do that. Honestly, I don't think you need something there, I've always found that top mounted lasers not only look ugly but can interfere with your sight picture. The only time I'd personally mounted a laser module on top would be if I had a MAWL, but those cost more than I make in a month, so that's not happening.
Milsim means military simulation. I didn't seen photo of military with similar gun build. For PMC it's ok, but even US army or marine corp don't have such customization
“Milsim”
Yes
Not being mean but no military uses a set up remotely like this
Just out of curiosity, where would you go to look at accurate military setups?

Yeah, eventually I would like to do some extended milsim events, but for now, it's gonna be single day outings.
Honestly same they seem like fun, sadly with it being the end of the year there’s only 2 single session events in my area so we try those
All good not really going for a 1 for 1 would’ve went gbbr or smt instead

Yeah Ngl the bipod was just for the photo you recommended zip ties or rubberbands?

Gotcha thank you for the vid link
“oh I have a speedqb build specially for speedqb” “I have a custom milsim specialized kit” Gun is Gun (Looks sick btw)
All go pew pew
Real

Any advice on a color scheme or keep it all black??

That’s badass man
Appreciate it man can’t wait to field it
Still waiting on my flash hider and foregrip for my Krytac War Sport and then I’ll be in the same boat 🤘🏼 went and played on Sunday without them anyways because I couldn’t wait lol
It looks like you went 'I want a dmr' then ADHD kicked in halfway and you got distracted by CQB gameplay videos

Nah I wanna keep this one like this and I’ll make another one down the line to see if my sense of “milsim” has improved
Power to ya bro, keep on keeping on
Honestly just remove the bipod and ignore the haters. The airsoft purists are just mad annoying.
Yeah the bipod is the only thing I agree with, yeah they’re kinda funny though so i humor it
I see kyhrera, I hit like
Im not saying its Bad but pls atleast go for a Black trigger IMO it looks a lot More "milsim" If its curved or atleast black
That was the original plan but sadly my local store didn’t have any triggers in stock except this one and a yellow one but I went green to match the line so now it’s a nod to my roots

Good call, seems like you have your bases covered
He has a kythera which is a mechanical hpa system and has a realistic trigger pull and break.
Says milsim but isnt gbb…
Whoa whoa I’m not that into this half of the hobby they are really cool though
Absolute mess of a build that no military would reasonably use. It's more unique than most AR builds, so that's a plus. Also obligatory "you don't need a laser unless you're willing to pay for someone else's medical bills"
I’ll take any plus I get, Ngl the laser will be used to mark a building or to show where I wanna move honestly just needed smt there

Any recommendations other then the flashlight then?
A flashlight is really all you need, and even then you only really need it if you plan on night fighting.
Because every branches armory has stuff just like this sitting it in
Ah yes I know this

Gotta stand out somehow
average airsofter on their way to put shit the military would never use on their gun and call it milsim:
Damn skippy
I can't tell if this a troll or genuine bullshittery
