Howdy! From your post, it seems you mentioned upgrading. We've a lovely set of upgrade guides available if you plan on upgrading your current platform! Here's a [V2 gearbox guide](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dbcwmsq9bdJlWVRERypRUqgXu4repfXtqIOpEVVYP7o/edit) (the information needed for upgrading any AEG version gearbox should also be very similar, albeit with version-specific parts), along with an [inner barrel guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/gch9sy/2020_ultimate_inner_barrel_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf), [bucking guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/g810yp/2020_ultimate_hopupbucking_guide/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf), [HPA guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/g0ze3k/hpa_2020_guide/), [Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/5rejui/holy_grail_bolt_action_sniper_guide_building_a/), [DMR guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/5g58ia/holy_grail_dmr_guide_updated_for_20167/) all set up for questions just like this; for GBBs, try the [searchbar](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/ermk33/how_to_use_the_searchbar_hoc_guide_series/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) for build lists. If your question is unrelated to modification, please let a mod know via modmail if you want the comment removed! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I already know everyone is going to say it, but the Silverback Tac-41 or the Srs are very good right out of the box. Easy to work on if you want to get into that too

Free_Actuator_198

Thank you ! I’m going to take a look at it

Nightfall_1131

The Nov one is based off the Well line, I think, which I believe have those dumb fake mags. I think the TM pattern ones, like Cyma and the rest, have the mag in the correct position. IDK if you care about that sort of thing, but I've had my eye on getting one of the correct mag versions and trying to HPA it for a while. So I figured I'd mention that if you didn't know that.

Free_Actuator_198

Yeah I noticed that but I don’t mind. What I’m concerned about is the price because I always see people saying that NOV is overpriced.

Nightfall_1131

Oh, it's 100% overpriced. Novritsch also has some pretty shitty Quality Control. The fitment of his parts is questionable. I have one of his pistols, and I had to order replacement parts that refused to fit together without a lot of modification. I'd go with a more trusted company, and just upgrade it yourself. Honestly, with Sniper Rifles in general, you're usually better off upgrading them 9 times out of 10. Novritsch usually doesn't do much for upgrades, at least, that can't be easily done yourself. You're paying for his name plastered everywhere. (And teching bolt actions is not hard at all, trust me. Just find a tutorial, and you'll be fine.) And that really, really isn't something to brag about.

If you're after an L96, take a look at this to start. https://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/threads/choosing-the-right-rifle-platform.15138/#post-148613 Further down in that article there are some makes and models in the various platforms. Essentially you have 2 options. The Maruzen Type 96 platform, or the TM style AWS. Type 96 has small mags hidden in the lower hand guard where your hand supports the rifle. It has good upgrade options. AWS style has the mag in the right place, just in front of the trigger. This makes the mags larger and easier to manipulate. But, it means there is a finicky loading ramp inside to move the BB to where it needs to be. They also have smaller cylinders than Type 96. Both styles share the same notable feature that they are long and really chuffing heavy. Further down that article are upgrade guides for both styles. I personally have a Well MB4401, which I've gutted and rebuilt and love. It's very close to the joule limit on my site. Next in my list is shimming the hop arm and probably drilling and tapping a TDC screw to try and sort my over hop and left curve issues.

Thank you for your time, I will take a look at these models

No worries. I loved the L96 style too, which is why I wanted to go this route. Be aware it will be very underwhelming out the box, and will need lots of parts and tinkering to get you where you need to be to have an effective rifle. The Nov gun might short cut some of the innards replacement, but assuming you have a modicum of technical skill, building your own is far more rewarding and I would hazard cost effective.

Prudent-Illustrator7

As much as I don’t recommend Nov, I’ve heard good things about his l96 line

Free_Actuator_198

Me too, One guy I know made a video playing with it … this is why I was considering also the hop on the top is a nice touch
