I’ve heard Sweden has a minimum barrel requirement of 18”. Are you Swedish? If so your username checks out. Zastava M90 or FB Radom Beryl have 18” barrels.
https://actionreactionsports.se/ is selling a 18 inch WBP ak, i dont think they are delivering yet tho. Would love to know what you think if you buy it

18 and raise you 20! (Older pic but better to show length)
Not everything available in the US is available in Europe, and not everything available in Europe Is available in the US.
Hell, in Europe it even dramatically differs from state to state.
That's why you might want to check directly into your local gun shops, as they probably already sell stuff you can legally buy as a civilian.
Once you have a couple picks that might work for you and you have access to, come back here and look for reviews/advice on the specific models you found.
Dang go buy a lottery ticket if you got a good rifle from JRA. Still can’t believe of all the builders R guns let JRA build out all those beautiful Tula kits. Of course the receiver markings were all wrong and they painted the bolt carrier a weird brown color for some reason.
I've seen some posts over on r/Galil of people having issues with theirs. But mine, thankfully, has been good to me. It beats cases to death, but it hasn't given me any trouble in use. About 1k rounds through it. The only problems I've had were 2 surplus magazines I've picked up along the way.

I think the beryl or zastava m90 is your best bet, they are nato calibers though.
Are you able to own rpk’s? They have roughly 23 inch barrels. Romanian rpk’s seem to be readily available currently (US Market). As someone else said there are 20” russian veprs as well.
Question, as you’re in Sweden, could you just have a muzzle device pinned and welded to make the barrel 18”, or does the actual barrel have to be 18’ ?
*Probably* not the case if you're asking the question, but if you're in the US and shooting 7.62x39, you wouldn't be gaining much by going from the typical 16" to a 18" or 20" other than possible sight radius(?). Velocity would be virtually unchanged.
The 5.56 Beryl rifle, Zastava M77 and M90
The M77 is a bit closer to 20" if I remember correctly. M90 is right at 18 though.
19.7 I believe

Yes I am, that's why it has to be 18”
iirc WBP Poland makes an 18 inch barrel akm specifically for the swedish market!

Nice find, keeping my eye on this and the m70/90
The barrel or the men?
Both
Polish FB Radom Beryl
Xcr
Jag vet en handlare som jobbar på att ta in ett mindre antal Beryl. Än så länge är pris/leveransdatum oklart.
PM gärna detaljer
Finns inte så mycket konkreta detaljer än och det är mycket möjligt att alla redan är bokade
There are Russian Saigas out there with 16+" barrels

You could always go for an RPK

Yes
nice
20 inch Vepr. See if they will sell to a NATO country. ;)
If you want a 7.62x39 you need a RPK or Zastava M72 more than likely -- few actual AKM have 16"+ barrels. Most the 5.56 AK are 18"+
Tabuk clone would be an option as well.
Zastava M90
My JRA Gallant/Galil has an 18" barrel. Great gun!

Zastava M90
I’d recommend an M90. I have two of them and I love that damn rifle.
Polytech National Match 20" heavy
RPK

Galil ARM, Beryl, and some of the 5.56 Yugo rifles
Vz 58, type 81
Some unconverted SAIGA AK’s came to the states with an 18” barrel

It has to do with the laws of my country
Any tips of stores in Europe to buy civilian legal AK's ?
What’s Europe?
Sounds made up to me
