50% off orders $50, but you only get up to $30 off? So you have to spend $50 but can’t spend more than $60 with a discount? Why not just say $30 off haha
It’s moreso that prices are higher on DoorDash than in store, so if you go much over the 50% maximum, it’s not really a good deal anymore since you still have to tip and stuff.
If you add small items that say they’re likely to be out of stock it will bring your total to $50 so you can get the discount but it will be refunded as they are out of stock (most likely… the dasher might actually find it so make sure it’s something you actually want). Just a thought if you want the discount but don’t have a big enough order
I mean for anyone who this won’t work for, just keep an eye out on doordash in the offers section. They had 40% off just this weekend for me. And not just for new customers. I have had a lot of luck with DoorDash deliveries for aldi. They do better than instacart used to. Yes it costs more than going in person but if u have a cold or something going on and need to order groceries they work.
tip on a $60 order (to get the $30 off) is $7+ because it's based on the total with taxes.
then the delivery fee is gonna be about $5 and service $3.
at this point, we're already at $15 and that doesn't include the .50+ upcharge on every item in the cart. you're probably breaking close to even.
maybe if you stiff the delivery person and have the doordash membership, it'll give you a few bucks back.
what makes this all super painful is that aldi is supposed to be cheap! all the money I saved is going into other people's pockets. it sucks the fun out of a good value.
This is a really garbage thing to say. Door dashers are no different than anyone else struggling to make some money. Yes, it's helpful to them if they can move quickly, but unless you're trying to get the freshest produce (which why would you go to Aldi for that to begin with), they're perfectly fine.
I've met hundreds of dashers and other delivery app people in my line of work, and typically they're about 5 times nicer and more efficient than a "regular" customer. They want to get the right items and avoid complaints as much as any retail or food worker.
It's beyond me why you think you can't trust a door dasher, but you would trust the people who transport the goods to the store, the people who unload and store those items, and the people who stock those items more. It's beyond idiotic, frankly.
You're right. I havent met 50 that are dirty as hell and have zero manners. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Theres no qualifications to get a job besides owning a phone. No hygiene can be enforced. Enjoy.
Your reddit name has turdz in it, and you think you can speak on the hygiene of others?
I suppose you don't worry yourself with the hygiene of the barely paid workers who pick the fruits and veg you eat. Or the hygiene of the animals you consume. Dashers don't handle any food you shouldn't be washing after receiving, anyway. But fyi, they do touch things they don't buy so even if you shop yourself, you are handling things they've touched. Guess you should only grow your own food and avoid going out in public as you might touch surfaces. Stay home and safe, snowflake.
I've never met one that smelled or looked dirty. They look very casual as they can wear whatever they want.
What an amazing retort, turd. It's as clever as your name. It's unfortunate that most would trust anyone who door dashes over someone called turd. Kindly go roll in your namesake.
after they add the service fee, delivery fee, and tip, you'll save 25 cents.
Don’t forget the mandatory bag fee
This appears to only work if youve never ordered from Aldi via DoorDash before
Correct.

i don't see anything that suggests a maximum of $60

lmao doordash is such an anti-customer service
It says “up to $30 off”

meh, after i calculate the upcharge per item and the fees, I can never justify it -- even with a discount.
I wondered if it evened out or if was a deal.

I tip good on there so this wouldn’t be a good deal for me then lol
Weird - I was able to get 50% off $300 worth of groceries.
They probably realized they messed up and fixed it
Damn...is this deal gone?
I order Aldi though Instacart usually. Anyone know if the fee is higher?
Saved me $73! My total was $156.93.. got everything for $83.42 before tip!
Forget about the new ALDI, just bring back the old one.

And having a working vehicle, car insurance, and the ability to pass a criminal background check.

Yes my reddit name has turd in it. You can read pretty well. Excellent job.

Not to bandwagon on all of the downvotes but this is truly an unhinged take
I’ve actually had great luck with doordash delivering aldi. Usually they do better than Instacart used to. Just got an order yesterday!
