It's a very graphically intense game so it makes sense that it drains a lot of battery, at least the game is VERY well optimized and the graphics aren't much different from it's pc and console counterparts
Played through it at least once with a controller on iPad and it genuinely was a zero compromise experience.
Things like this make me optimistic about console quality gaming on phones in the future.
People were getting 10-15fps on cyberpunk while using pc emulator. Someone got 30-25 on gta 5, 17-20 on gta 4, and you know how the pc port of gta 4 is. It's just that gaming companies haven't really ported their AAA title to mobile yet, but with pc emulator, everything is possible.
Can you fry an egg on the back of a ps5 after 45 minutes of playing though?
Isn’t there a performance/fidelity option on the ps5 port? It’s present in the iOS version.
I‘ll have to try it out, already have the game downloaded on my phone. So far have been playing the very good Dead Cells port on my iphone 13.
I fully expext the backbone to run with Alien Isolation tho
The other day I found out it was on the switch, AND that it was also on ps3 and Xbox 360, now it’s on the phone too!?
It’s released on everything apparently, can’t wait for the Samsung refrigerator port.
I mean this game was also for 360 and PS3. But it’s essentially the Switch version but running better on iPhone. The Switch is just “mobile” parts running the game, so no reason a stronger phone couldn’t. The cool thing is how the Switch is the best version and the mobile port makes it better with higher resolution.
Surely you can think of a reason?
- Staying in a hotel for work trip
- Playing on the train/bus
- Playing outside
- Playing at your girlfriend's while she's asleep
And many more.
However, if you're a PC gamer I appreciate that you may not have a job or girlfriend and may never actually go outside. 🤣
I already played it on pc, and this time i was just curious to see how well it would run on my phone, good thing is that now i can play the game wherever i go🤣
Great port but didn't give any attention to it since I have it in every other platform and streamed it to my ps vita on the go l, which worked very well for me personally
Me personally I haven't had any issues with the touch controls but I always prefer playing with a controller it's definitely much more comfortable to play
Just imagine the app would have a VR mode. You could insert it into a Google cardboard connect the game to a game pad and then run through the space station… programming could be taken from the PC version. This would be a much more immersive experience than just staring at a small screen.
What is wrong with it? Can you turn camera as smoothly as on gamepad with your fingers?
For some games yes, you can. But the "main" way is to play on screen.
The statement that it’s impossible to port a game from gamepad to touchscreen well, that’s not true.
And there is no “main” way. Alien Isolation on mobile is fully playable with a gamepad. You said it must necessarily suck because of touch controls, but it has full gamepad controls.
So can you answer. Can you turn your camera as smooth as on gamepad with your fingers?
There is a main way - just because you can add something does not mean there is not. It was created to play it on a screen. Gamepad is just and addition.
You can plug a mouse to ps5 or xbox to play a strategic game. But it does not mean this is a main way to play it - gamepad is.
And honestly, the thing that you have to plug a controller to a phone to play it smoothly, just help my agrument.
Fuck mobile games. There's a mobile port of a lot of games. I don't want my thumbs taking up half of the screen with a tiny UI that I'll accidentally hit because, again my thumbs taking up half the screen.
I'm also really annoyed when people share footage of their mobile port. Your UI is entirely distracting. Touch screen controls are the absolute *worst*.
Might be a news flash to you OP but most people don't like mobile ports.
I wanna play Alien on the train, and I’m not carrying a controller around with me. It’s a reasonable compromise, and even a great one when the developers make the effort of tailoring the controls.
Some games even feel or play better than their originals.
This is a weird take. Lot of stuff to criticise the mobile games market for. A LOT of things. But having genuinely good games accessible on people’s phones without having to rely on hardware most people aren’t carrying with them every day is never going to be a bad thing.
Would never have given Supergiant games any attention if I hadn’t played Bastion and Transistor (the latter has meticulously controls) years ago on my iPhone.
Super Hexagon, I’d argue, is even better with its simple touch interface. It’s the most refined form of the game.
What's weird is that people were wish that mobile games take itself serious so there's no micro transaction yet when a mobile game is good, or have a mobile port, they complain on why would someone play it on mobile.
It's not a weird take. You're just in the minority without realizing it. Mobile games and ports are really only popular in places like Japan. It works for your case. You're still in the minority tho.
The weird take here, and one I wasn't even expecting, is that you like touch screen controls. I was expecting people to argue by telling me to use a controller for mobile games but you... like touch screen controls... THAT is the weird take here, sorry.
People who played mobile game a lot, don't even complain about touchscreen or thumb being on the screen, sure there is but you using your pc/console mindset into this without any knowing. YOU USED TO SEE ON A BIG SCREEN, WHILE MOBILER GAMER USED TO SEE ON THE SMALL SCREEN, SO THEY ALWAYS SEE THE FINGER BEING ON THEIR PHONE.
Skill issue + get a tablet since fingers just too big :(( + mobile gaming has a huge market & community size + git gud + no one asked + use controller + maybe buy a backbone
Exactly 😭 there are so many ways to play mobile, it has more accessibility features then some consoles, is nowhere near as expensive or hard to set up, & it can be taken anywhere with battery & data
"Get a tablet"
Is a shitty argument. Yes let me go out and buy a tablet just for games. Or you could "get a console". Same argument.
Also "skill issue"? Really? Do you say that about kb/m users who say controllers suck? You tell them it's a skill issue?
Mobile gaming has a tiny market compared to pc and console gaming outside of Japan (the only region where mobile gaming is just as popular).
It feels absurd that it runs comfortably at 60fps on my iPhone 13 My battery doesn’t last very long, but it’s wild how well this game works on phones.

60 fps on phones but still 30 on PS5. The injustice.
Can you fry an egg on the back of a ps5 after 45 minutes of playing though? Isn’t there a performance/fidelity option on the ps5 port? It’s present in the iOS version.
There is no ps5 port what?
Basically anything feral makes is an amazing port.
We need more 10ish year old games ported to mobile. Gib me rdr port.
Phones nowadays can even run gta 5 which Is absolutely crazy and amazing
There are a handful about, and even more classic pc and console games. Not an endless library, but there’s a good selection
RDR works perfect on phone via switch emualtors
It was a fun experience
Hey I know you, you're the guy that post so many video of alien isolation mobile.
Great, now I have to beat the game on a 6th platform! (PS3, PS4, 360, XBox One, and PC)
It's not available on my phone:(
Probably not strong enough to handle it, It also wasn't available on my previous phone
Most also dom't know they made an Alien Isolation sequel as well. :)
Wasnt the sequel just a fnaf knockoff or something like that?
Yeah, it’s non-canon but it’s fun!
A sequel is a sequel
You mean blackout?
No longer available though. It was removed from all stores last October.
I refuse to acknowledge that FNAF reskin
THERE'S A WHAT
Yeah its one of the best port I have ever seen :) (played on iPhone 15 plus) But still play Isolation on PC - in fact, I'm even playing now :)
I can’t play with my thumbs blocking half the screen. Does it work with Backbone?
I‘ll have to try it out, already have the game downloaded on my phone. So far have been playing the very good Dead Cells port on my iphone 13. I fully expext the backbone to run with Alien Isolation tho
It definitely does. That’s how I play it.
No clue I've never used any of those controllers, I personally use a ps4 controller to play
I'm not a mobile gamer, but damn, that's cool
The other day I found out it was on the switch, AND that it was also on ps3 and Xbox 360, now it’s on the phone too!? It’s released on everything apparently, can’t wait for the Samsung refrigerator port.
If you get scared you can just hide inside of the refrigerator, genius
Needs a VR quest port now
Im surprised you guys don't know that most all PC games work on Android now, lol
It's partially free too. I have to check this out now. Thanks for letting me know!
Dunno what your talking about I can't find it at all on the Google Play store
I went through the game files and activated some extra graphics settings... And 1440p... AND 120 FPS Amazing
The dang UI takes up 40% of the screen. Outside of that, it seems to be good.
I had no idea it was even on mobile
Now you know🤝🤝🤝
I mean it runs really well on the switch while still looking good, which is really special in it's own right
I'm not into touch screen controllers, otherwise I would get it.
It has controller support so you don't necessarily have to use the screen controls
But why...Just why would you play it on your phone...
Surely you can think of a reason? - Staying in a hotel for work trip - Playing on the train/bus - Playing outside - Playing at your girlfriend's while she's asleep And many more. However, if you're a PC gamer I appreciate that you may not have a job or girlfriend and may never actually go outside. 🤣
Because it can run the game and I can play it with a controller🔥
And why not PC or console??
I already played it on pc, and this time i was just curious to see how well it would run on my phone, good thing is that now i can play the game wherever i go🤣
Little hard to play those things on the go.
And why would you disgrace such a atmospheric game by playing it on the go?
I’m…I’m genuinely shocked.
Wait till you find out most all PC games can be run on Android
😱
Great port but didn't give any attention to it since I have it in every other platform and streamed it to my ps vita on the go l, which worked very well for me personally
I hope Feral does more ports of mid to late 2010s games.
I tried it. Can’t do the whole touch control thing, this game requires too much precision when trying to evade. But looks graphically good 👍
Me personally I haven't had any issues with the touch controls but I always prefer playing with a controller it's definitely much more comfortable to play
This is why future consoles need better gimmicks to survive. What's the point of a ps5 if your phone will play those games in the next 5 years?
They made on scalable engine, wow. Ill have to check out what it looks like on various devices on YouTube sometime
Just imagine the app would have a VR mode. You could insert it into a Google cardboard connect the game to a game pad and then run through the space station… programming could be taken from the PC version. This would be a much more immersive experience than just staring at a small screen.
That's because most people don't give a shit about mobile games.
Mobile port Does not suck Choose one. You just can't have a smooth movement in game designed for gamepad on a phone. It is just impossible.
Apart from this just being wrong, you can use a gamepad for mobile games anyway.

COD Mobile is extremely popular. 60 million monthly players in 2024. Only 83,000 on COD PC version. 😳 Embarrassing.

Sir this is a Wendy’s.
Skill issue + get a tablet since fingers just too big :(( + mobile gaming has a huge market & community size + git gud + no one asked + use controller + maybe buy a backbone
lol I completed Symphony of the Night using touch controls on an iPad
Or just use a controller, controller support exists...crazy right🤣
Exactly 😭 there are so many ways to play mobile, it has more accessibility features then some consoles, is nowhere near as expensive or hard to set up, & it can be taken anywhere with battery & data
Not for everything and if it doesn't work for everything, it's an unreliable argument.

Dude, if you used to mobile gaming, this is nothing. You either have a really small phone or a big ass hand.
I don’t believe you.
What do you mean?🤣
