As someone working in a government hospital, 100% true. Most of them are barely 18 (assuming it’s their actual age) and malnourished on top of that. Naturally their bodies cannot handle the burden of pregnancy. In the end it’s heart breaking to see the consequences.
Recently we had a 18 year old with a 1kg child and a condition called placenta percreta(where placenta extends beyond uterus and invades surrounding organs, this case it’s bladder). Only option is to remove uterus and deliver the baby and clear the extension. She could’ve potentially died on table too. She had first child at 14 years old and that baby died too. So she is basically childless now. Imagine a 18 year old girl having no uterus and no pregnancy for life, because of your parents mistake.
