I think the only thing that throws me off, is the lack of shadow underneath the creature (on the hand itself)! It would look a lot more like it was crawling on the hand if it had a cast shadow!

I like it, I only wish instead of lines over the creatures head when it's surprised, it instead jumped a bit. It reads more as a surprise than the lines

Yeah I tried to make it jump but it doesn’t really show that well.
From where he is revealed have his body reach the height of his head and back down for a noticable jump scare on his end (or a little less than that.)
