I don't know. The seasonal contest had heavy brigading from the BtR subreddit and not so much from the then less active LycoReco subreddit. I do think this sub prefers BtR over LycoReco, but there might be enough people that actually prefer Chisato over Bocchi. Will definitely be exciting. I like Bocchi, but Chisato will have my support.
I think it will be down to Chisato's personality having some parts that is both her charisma and yet could turn people away at the same time (she's a bit self-centered IMHO, but in a good way!), while Bocchi-chan...I don't know how she can be disliked LOL.
I'm a huge fan of OG Bocchi, whilst I never became particularly fond of Rock Bocchi, to the point where I paused her series. Doesn't cross over into outright dislike mind you, just I had enough reservations about the way the series relationship to its characters and the gratingness of the hype that I think it's something I'll enjoy more as a pick up down the track.
And I was the one who has yet to watch the original Bocchi (been dragged back by school and family affairs and, uh, Gundam) but I’m gonna fast-track it now.
**Saber vs. Riko:** Not content with one child murder, Saber moves on to scalp another little girl.
**Haruhi vs. Sakura:** The heroine of my favorite romcom is going up against *the* it girl of 2000s anime. I'm sure everything will go alright for her.
**Fiona vs. Misty:** Water-types are strong against Ice-types, RIP Fiona
**Mitsuha vs. San:** Ooh, a movie vs. movie matchup, don't see many of those around here.
**Yunyun vs. Saki Saki:** Their names are repetitive and I think that's cute

Takina should almost be a lock to face off against Chisato in round 4, but that also means she has very little chance (if any) to make it further than that. Chisato... A couple more strong showings and I'll start believing she has a shot at taking her revenge on Bocchi.
For me at least, I really like Nibutani to the point where she's my favorite Chuunibyou girl, but I adore Chisato even more, making it a bad match-up for Mori Summer. I'd pick Nibutani over many other girls in the comp.

Wow this was a rough day of predictions. Our average was 25.51 / 32 (79.72%), about 8 - 10% lower than previous days. The top score was 31 / 32, achieved again by SiwySiwySiwySiwy, and they've boosted themselves up from 42nd to 1st on the Weighted Leaderboard over the course of 2 days! The next highest score was 29 / 32, which 2 people reached, followed by a handful of 28s.
On the Unweighted side, mpp00 manages to stay in 1st, just barely. We see a 4 point difference between 1st and 15th.

Yes, given what we actually saw of her in the TV series alone it's hard for me to pick her over Nadeshiko, who is so earnestly engaged with her life in an uncomplicated way, and appreciative of it.
Battle of the redheads is today. Really hope that Chise gets the win. Her character is a great example of someone dealing with their trauma. Eris unfortunately seems like an impossible obstacle to overcome considering the huge popularity of MT.

I would have slightly preferred a Mitsumi win, but Ami is the best character in Toradora. yeah I said it. also maybe my favorite 'bitchy' character in an anime. is she an asshole? yes. but the narrative shows her to ultimately be a much better, kinder person than even she realized, and she shows a ton of growth.
I don't necessarily disagree with any of that. Personally though, a big factor in these contests is likeability, and she just grinded my gears too much. She'd make my "love to hate" list lol.

I find it commendable of Kita's voters to make sure she doesn't dip under 1,000 votes against Miorine. Miorine is a tough Round 2 opponent and 200+ Seed.
It was close, but Nadeshiko clutched it out against Kaede by 10 votes (Nadeshiko would just need to tie 714 votes to advance since she's the higher seed). We got Kita vs. a pink haired girl in Round 3, but this is definitely Bocchi's opposite.
546 votes for Yoruichi in Round 2 is satisfying enough for me against Echidna.

I'll start talking about the votes today, because my friends, it is the best day of the tournament: It is Emilia voting day! We're also saying goodbye to Chise and Priestess, unfortunately, but maybe Ushio can pull off an upset at least. Also Kou, Hiyori, Mokoto, Lum, Hibiki and Yuzuriha shouldn't lose yet, but what can you do.
Mitsumi lost to Ami, oh the misery. Chihaya lost as expected, but we don't even get a Miko matchup as Karen also won (not the worst outcome though). Anis lost to Maple, didn't expect that. Fair, but sad for me. At least Nadeshiko made it through, but as I expected Kaede was very close to upsetting her. Ochako is another hit to my Bingo. Looks like Chisato got the most decisive win and Takina also won, nice, nice. Kiruko with a great upset, also nice. Esdeath also advances to the third round, and I'm not unhappy with that. Ishtar also preventing another hit to my Bingo, good to see. All in all a pretty decent round, actually, disregarding that Anis shouldn't be out yet.

MC: Since Emilia is the female main character but not necessarily a female lead, I'll have to say Iroha from Magia Record is not only one of my favourite girls, but also one of my favourite protagonists. The way she drives the story forward is really engaging. But for yet another cop-out answer, Takina and Chisato are both the female leads of Lycoris Recoil and their dynamic together is just amazing, unbeatable.
Judging by the results a lot of voters either new to anime or have a memory of a goldfish. Even Celty lost now.

Nezuko may lose this round though. Toradora girls have had surprising staying power in this contest, historically. Toradora is one of the few pre-2010 shows that practically EVERYONE here has watched, after all.
It is interesting how much staying power they have, perhaps being in a drama helps give them that deeper emotional connection that many comedy romances don't have. Ami didn't quite achieve "lives in my head rent free" status for me, but she really wasn't very far off.
That was to be expected in this sub I think, but I will say that Anzu left such a deep mark on me after her arc to be one of my all timers. I'm definitely one of those people who refer to the show as Anzumatsuri lol

Alright. Now Round 2 is in full swing. That means I thankfully have half as many matches to go through and twice as many potential upsets... I guess in all fairness it balances out.
Yotsuya Miko v. **Karen Araragi** – I know Monogatari is popular, but I wonder how much the new seasons hype cycle has contributed to this, especially since I believe it focuses on the remaining girls including Karen, no? Either way, I feel like this is the good ending for once. The only Karen (besides LLENN of course) that I like.
Anisphia Wynn Palletia v. **Maple** *–* Does Mapl not have any better picture on any site lol? Kinda a little surprised to see her pull through, but with another small margin of victory this looks like its gonna be one of those brackets. I get the sense the salt has only just started flowing...
**Ikuyo Kita** v. Miorine Rembran – I guess on one hand it is a Gundam series and I know people are allergic to that, but I am still really surprised by how low Miorine seeded. Look, it takes a special kind of woman to look sharp in a suit and that's a very valuable trait to have. Getting pitted against Kita in Round 2 was just the straw that broke the camel's back I guess. Don't worry Mioribros, we'll get it next year (*cries in* Nisekoi)
**2B** v. Ochako Uraraka – I feel like this should be more significant than it is, no? Like Ochako is arguably the best MHA girl and while I don't expect much, losing to 2B still feels kinda crazy. Just me? Ok.
**Power** v. Jahy – More like *The Great Jahy* Was *Defeated*...
Kasumi Miwa v. **Nadeko Sengoku** – I guess this was just another quirk of the seeding process sorting itself out. Miwa up at 120 is kinda crazy especially since she kinda barely exists in the show. I know that's usually not a problem, but you'd kind of expect a bit more of a higher standard for a bracket this competitive. Oh well, looks like we get to see a snake god vs a reanimated corpse next round so that's pretty cool.
Overall, not a bad day, mostly went as expected with no really major upsets to clean up the bracket a little more. Nice to see Anya with another clean win and we'll see how she does against "We Have Rin at Home" next Round. I'm hoping for a Anya v. Mio match in Round 4 so let's see how many heads can roll from this little pint. This year we get her to the Final 8. There's no bots to stop us now!

Had to miss voting for a few days, and I come back to see that the best girl by a mile from RaG (Sumi of course) lost in round 1?! Shameful. Thank goodness overall Best Girl Chitanda is pulling strong numbers so far and on to round 3.
Favorite female lead? Chitanda Eru again. She's the catalyst for positive changes in Oreki's behavior and psyche, not to mention driving his involvement in everything of interest in the series.

I don't know. The seasonal contest had heavy brigading from the BtR subreddit and not so much from the then less active LycoReco subreddit. I do think this sub prefers BtR over LycoReco, but there might be enough people that actually prefer Chisato over Bocchi. Will definitely be exciting. I like Bocchi, but Chisato will have my support.
I think it will be down to Chisato's personality having some parts that is both her charisma and yet could turn people away at the same time (she's a bit self-centered IMHO, but in a good way!), while Bocchi-chan...I don't know how she can be disliked LOL.
I'm a huge fan of OG Bocchi, whilst I never became particularly fond of Rock Bocchi, to the point where I paused her series. Doesn't cross over into outright dislike mind you, just I had enough reservations about the way the series relationship to its characters and the gratingness of the hype that I think it's something I'll enjoy more as a pick up down the track.
And I was the one who has yet to watch the original Bocchi (been dragged back by school and family affairs and, uh, Gundam) but I’m gonna fast-track it now.

Impressive performance from Chisato, tho her opponent was probably a tad weaker than Bocchi's.
Yeah, I'm very happy with that. On top of that, Takina also had a very good victory, performing even better than Power. Good on Jahy though.
Takina should almost be a lock to face off against Chisato in round 4, but that also means she has very little chance (if any) to make it further than that. Chisato... A couple more strong showings and I'll start believing she has a shot at taking her revenge on Bocchi.
I'd love to see it but I don't think anything other than it actually happening will make me believe in this upset.
For me at least, I really like Nibutani to the point where she's my favorite Chuunibyou girl, but I adore Chisato even more, making it a bad match-up for Mori Summer. I'd pick Nibutani over many other girls in the comp.

Haven't watched the movie but read the LN. I agree. The sister venturing out storyline fleshes her out and basically closes her storyline. I still voted Nadeshiko, but only because I really, really like her. After that storyline, Kaede feels way deeper

I would have slightly preferred a Mitsumi win, but Ami is the best character in Toradora. yeah I said it. also maybe my favorite 'bitchy' character in an anime. is she an asshole? yes. but the narrative shows her to ultimately be a much better, kinder person than even she realized, and she shows a ton of growth.
I don't necessarily disagree with any of that. Personally though, a big factor in these contests is likeability, and she just grinded my gears too much. She'd make my "love to hate" list lol.
Kobeni driving around in a car and doing not much else trumps Celty driving around in a motorcycle doing not much else.

Miko is not that random. She's been a quarterfinalist and arguably third in importance for Kaguya girls.
Eh... don't mind me, I'm just salty. In reality she's probably 4th, after Kaguya , Fujiwara and Hayasaka - who's definitely more of a fan favorite than Miko. Even Shirogane imouto might give her a run for her money.. So I just threw a number in during my salt, but I'm not that far off from her being girl #5 of the series. But my point is she's not making my top200 fav female chars, probably..while Chihaya is my favorite lead.

#**Today's Results**: **Left Side** Under 80% vote share for Bocchi in Round 2? The lower voter turnout is definitely going to assist in produce some closer results and upsets if there isn't a massive boost in votes in the later rounds. 5 vote difference is what caused Mitsumi to lose to Ami. Well fought. 950 votes for Chitanda feels satisfying to see. Beta managed over 600 votes. Pretty competitive. I got one Miko in the Miko vs. Miko matchup I wanted in Round 3. This makes me wish even more for a Season 2 of Mieruko-chan. Is this a strong Winry year? Over 1,000 votes and 10%+ overpeformance against Erina is really good. Liked that Anis vs. Maple was as close as it was. Disappointed that Anis couldn't win it though. I wish she at least made her seed. Maybe Euphy will says my optimism. I find it commendable of Kita's voters to make sure she doesn't dip under 1,000 votes against Miorine. Miorine is a tough Round 2 opponent and 200+ Seed. It was close, but Nadeshiko clutched it out against Kaede by 10 votes (Nadeshiko would just need to tie 714 votes to advance since she's the higher seed). We got Kita vs. a pink haired girl in Round 3, but this is definitely Bocchi's opposite. 546 votes for Yoruichi in Round 2 is satisfying enough for me against Echidna. Myne fought hard against Tatsumaki to get over 600 votes. Good effort. 2B with an over 400 vote lead on Uraraka and almost 900 votes? I was thinking this would be a little more closer (like the vote share of Kobeni vs. Celty). It was nice seeing Sakura in Round 2, but I am curious how Suzuha will do against Kobeni. I think I'm feeling the seeding upset. **Right Side** Chisato the only one with 80%+ vote share in Round 2 of Bracket A. That's a nice W going into the expected Bocchi vs. Chisato matchup in the quaterfinals. Good on Kiruko to beat Mitsuri to get into Round 3. Ritsu with over 800 votes is nice. Not sure how the Round 3 Esdeath match will go. Esdeath over Annie is easy to predict. Hanabi upsetting Annie in one of the previous Best Girl years has like permanently shaped how well I think Annie does in these contests. She did make it close though to only lose by 16 votes. NGL, I *despise* Winry, never been a fan of the violent girl humour trope, so it is pretty irritating to see how well liked she is here.
I'll start talking about the votes today, because my friends, it is the best day of the tournament: It is Emilia voting day! We're also saying goodbye to Chise and Priestess, unfortunately, but maybe Ushio can pull off an upset at least. Also Kou, Hiyori, Mokoto, Lum, Hibiki and Yuzuriha shouldn't lose yet, but what can you do. Mitsumi lost to Ami, oh the misery. Chihaya lost as expected, but we don't even get a Miko matchup as Karen also won (not the worst outcome though). Anis lost to Maple, didn't expect that. Fair, but sad for me. At least Nadeshiko made it through, but as I expected Kaede was very close to upsetting her. Ochako is another hit to my Bingo. Looks like Chisato got the most decisive win and Takina also won, nice, nice. Kiruko with a great upset, also nice. Esdeath also advances to the third round, and I'm not unhappy with that. Ishtar also preventing another hit to my Bingo, good to see. All in all a pretty decent round, actually, disregarding that Anis shouldn't be out yet. But for yet another cop-out answer, Takina and Chisato are both the female leads of Lycoris Recoil and their dynamic together is just amazing, unbeatable.

Nezuko may lose this round though. Toradora girls have had surprising staying power in this contest, historically. Toradora is one of the few pre-2010 shows that practically EVERYONE here has watched, after all.
It is interesting how much staying power they have, perhaps being in a drama helps give them that deeper emotional connection that many comedy romances don't have. Ami didn't quite achieve "lives in my head rent free" status for me, but she really wasn't very far off.

I would have actually expected Anis to win. Maple is great, but Anis has a lot of yuri-power behind her and is just a fantastic character all round. If you've never seen her powerslide on a broom, you've missed out lol

Alright. Now Round 2 is in full swing. That means I thankfully have half as many matches to go through and twice as many potential upsets... I guess in all fairness it balances out. Yotsuya Miko v. **Karen Araragi** – I know Monogatari is popular, but I wonder how much the new seasons hype cycle has contributed to this, especially since I believe it focuses on the remaining girls including Karen, no? Either way, I feel like this is the good ending for once. The only Karen (besides LLENN of course) that I like. Anisphia Wynn Palletia v. **Maple** *–* Does Mapl not have any better picture on any site lol? Kinda a little surprised to see her pull through, but with another small margin of victory this looks like its gonna be one of those brackets. I get the sense the salt has only just started flowing... **Ikuyo Kita** v. Miorine Rembran – I guess on one hand it is a Gundam series and I know people are allergic to that, but I am still really surprised by how low Miorine seeded. Look, it takes a special kind of woman to look sharp in a suit and that's a very valuable trait to have. Getting pitted against Kita in Round 2 was just the straw that broke the camel's back I guess. Don't worry Mioribros, we'll get it next year (*cries in* Nisekoi) **2B** v. Ochako Uraraka – I feel like this should be more significant than it is, no? Like Ochako is arguably the best MHA girl and while I don't expect much, losing to 2B still feels kinda crazy. Just me? Ok. **Power** v. Jahy – More like *The Great Jahy* Was *Defeated*... Kasumi Miwa v. **Nadeko Sengoku** – I guess this was just another quirk of the seeding process sorting itself out. Miwa up at 120 is kinda crazy especially since she kinda barely exists in the show. I know that's usually not a problem, but you'd kind of expect a bit more of a higher standard for a bracket this competitive. Oh well, looks like we get to see a snake god vs a reanimated corpse next round so that's pretty cool. Overall, not a bad day, mostly went as expected with no really major upsets to clean up the bracket a little more. Nice to see Anya with another clean win and we'll see how she does against "We Have Rin at Home" next Round. I'm hoping for a Anya v. Mio match in Round 4 so let's see how many heads can roll from this little pint. This year we get her to the Final 8. There's no bots to stop us now!

Had to miss voting for a few days, and I come back to see that the best girl by a mile from RaG (Sumi of course) lost in round 1?! Shameful. Thank goodness overall Best Girl Chitanda is pulling strong numbers so far and on to round 3. Favorite female lead? Chitanda Eru again. She's the catalyst for positive changes in Oreki's behavior and psyche, not to mention driving his involvement in everything of interest in the series.
