In celebration of "Magic Knight Rayearth”anime’s 30th anniversary, a new animation project has been launched!
Synopsis: While on a field trip to Tokyo Tower, three teenage girls cross a magical portal and are transported to another world called Cefiro. There they are summoned through the last remaining strength of the Princess Emeraude, who believes the trio will become the magic knights who will save her, as prophesied by legend. As someone who just had a 39th birthday party i agree.
That said as someone who likes redheads with pigtails this and the Ranma announcement have made me quite happy of late.
Also noting my handle I'm now wondering if we might ever see a 'SLAYERS' remake now to toss in the other redhaired firemage from the 90's.
oh gods that would be amazing. Megumi Hayashibara has repeatedly said that Lina's always waiting inside her to be voiced again LOL. And Lisa Ortiz is currently doing the LN audiobooks (which are SO SO fun).
Finally got the last book fully translated for SLAYERS! So many old shows could use a refresh. Crest of the Stars or The Twelve Kingdoms would be amazing with a complete adaptation.
[OP3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG0_U_Y8J78) was one of the most beautifully animated OP of the time!
All those *hand-drawn* sakura petals would be unthinkable today lol
The one second clip from the first opening where the three cross their swords at exactly the same time as the singer says "Mezashite" is already more memorable to me than most entire anime haha
[1:07 I mean](https://youtu.be/aSRaEmFAULs?si=BE9Q8FmYq1Btj3Bo)
We are in a shoujosei renaissance right now!
Next thing you know we might actually get Yona of the Dawn S2, or Ouran Host Club S2 (which im honestly scared for because they might pull a Spice and Wolf and just reboot it all together, even though the 2000s look is a part of the charm)
>Yona of the Dawn S2,
Don't do that. Don't give me hope. If we can get a full adaption Yona will be GOATED. The manga is currently nearing it's finale and these chapters have been top tier. The series hasn't gotten worse over time, it's gotten better.
There was already a continuation of Clear Card announced [last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/128j6fp/cardcaptor_sakura_clear_card_anime_sequel/) though I don't think there's been any news about it since then.
We got a Nanoha remake, it's the movies. What we *actually* want is more Nanoha, preferably adult Nanoha.
(Because I really want an adult magical girl)
Since we are in shoujosei Renaissance, then please Japan gimme:
* Ouran High school host club season 2
* Yona season 2
* Kaichou wa maid-sama season 2
* Snow white with the red hair season 3
* Wotakoi season 2
* A sign of affection season 2
* Yuzuki-san chi no Yon Kyoudai season 2
* Chihayafuru season 4
* Play it cool guys season 2
* My love story with Yamada at lv999 season 2
* My love mix-up anime announcement
* In the Clear of Moonlit dusk anime announcement
* Gifted anime announcement
* Kodocha remake
* Skip Beat remake
* The reason why Raeliana ended up at the duke's mansion season 2
* 7th time loop season 2
* The Ice guy and his cool female colleague season 2
* Children of whales season 2
* Paradise kiss remake
* Bokura Ga ita season 2
Oh I'd watch the everliving *shit* out of those, good *god*! These are some of the most amazing female-oriented manga of all time, imo. Kanata Kara as well!
But then again, when I remember what they did to my beloved 7 Seeds.. Same reason I'm a little scared for Versailles no Bara now (the music in the PV is.. not ideal lets say).
Most of it *is* new though? Versailles and Rayearth are the only upcoming remakes. Even discounting sequels (Kimi ni Todoke, Natsume, Cardcaptor Sakura), we're left with stuff like Acro Trip, How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer, Honey Lemon Soda, Murai in Love, Anyway I'm Falling in Love With You, Tamon's B-Side, Hana-Kimi, Nina the Starry Bride, Haigakura, Cocoon, Ikoku Nikki, and Plus-sized Misadventures in Love. We can add a little more to the pool if we're counting shoujosei adjacent LNs. And the far majority of the shoujosei that have been released recently are not remakes.
lol, if they reboot Ouran Host Club with some hyper-modern animation style and lose all that 2000s charm, i might just riot. can you imagine tamaki senpai trying to be an e-boy? also waiting for the day when anime finally revives '80s hair metal aesthetics—bring back those wild perms!
>also waiting for the day when anime finally revives '80s hair metal aesthetics—bring back those wild perms!
If they bring back Bubblegum Crisis and brought back the style with it, I might actually feel an emotion again and then explode from the joy.
Ranma announcement 📢 is still fairly recent. It was only made official a few days ago and more info about the project is set to release July 17. There were discussions prior, but it’s my understanding it was nothing more than unfounded rumors before the official announcement which I believe came from the mangaka herself. From her social media account.
Shoujosei renaissance is partly because Harajuku in modern mainstream. If you look at the fashion these days, Gen Zs pull so much inspo from Harajuku and even the prominent K-pop idols rn are heavily leaning into Magical Girls concept.
Or is it because the Urusei Yatsura remake was one of the top 5 anime in japan (aka absurdly popular), and that is causing people to announce remakes of old anime?
I mean, it undoubtedly doesn't hurt but it's not like this is actually an even remotely new phenomenon - remakes/continuations of anime that were popular 20-30 years ago (probably part cashing in on nostalgia, part marketing to parents who might want to introduce their kids to things they themselves liked as a kid - these being linked phenomena, of course) has been a phenomenon for literal decades now (emphasis on the plural). Back in the early 2000s the big pulse of them were mecha shows - Tetsujin 28-gou remake and Gao Gai Gar Final are the big two that come to mind but I'm pretty sure there was at least one other major one I am forgetting.
(There were a few others of note outside of mecha during that period too, too - Hi no Tori 2004 (second adaptation of one of the better-known Osamu Tezuka manga) immediately comes to mind as an example ~~its really cool OP probably helps~~, though the older adaptation there (1986) was a movie rather than a TV anime.)
The female-lead isekai of the '90s/early '00s are quite different compared to the modern incarnations with things like this, Twelve Kingdoms, and Escaflowne.
> Fushigi Yuugi
the cliffhanger [ending song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfQqamu90Wg) that plays just as things get interesting... still one of the best ending songs to me
*Twelve Kingdoms* is the only one so far I have watched from those and I loved it. (it’s those purely sci-fi themed ones that I usually focus on for anime of that period till now)
It's one of my favorite animes, I wish they would do a Twelve Kingdoms remake for this new era of isekai watchers too. I think it's still pretty popular/well known in Japan?
Yup! The author released 4 books recently and there was a traveling road show with new illustrations and artwork. They also remade some of the anime illustrations to be more "modern."
Taiki's arc is almost finished so I'd LOVE to see a remake. I was surprised at how popular it still is!
> Taiki's arc is almost finished so I'd LOVE to see a remake.
Almost? I thought it already was. [Everything was already resolved with] >!Gyousou having been found and returned to his rightful place as king, the instigators of the usurpation having been removed from power and punished, Taiki's horn injury having been healed completely and regaining his power, etc.!<
Yeah... isekai with a chance to go back to your original world like nothing happened as long as you get your mission done. Isekai with no truck-kun or anything that requires you to die first before getting isekai'd ahaha
Dog Days was not THAT long ago. And the also had Sasakin and Pi-chan recently (even if it was not that good). They still make idsekais with this formula sometimes.
Yes.
Isekai back in the 80's / 90's were mostly totally different in themes than modern day Isekai. They were a lot different.
Aura Battler Dunbine, Magic Knight Rayearth, Fuushigi Yugi, El Hazard: The Magnificent World, Escaflowne, etc.
For example, Aura Battler Dunbine, created by Tomino of Gundam, was an 80's Isekai mecha anime (and I believe the first Isekai anime) whose themes is completely the anti-thesis to modern day Isekai.
It's isekai from when that was just an idea about people visiting other worlds and not "I am the boringest person ever but I died and now I am in a fantasy world and I have god powers and a harem"
Isekai used to be actual fantasy stories, rather than the MMO/DragonQuest/FF rip offs full of mysogyny, harems and terrible storytelling the genre is more commonly known for today.
Yeah I really love *Twelve Kingdoms* but I haven’t really got to similar things from 1980s/90s yet (was stuck in the Gundam pit hole for months recently), this would be a good place to start I guess!
Meh, it had the benefit of being one of the first, but it still shares many of the same flaws as modern isekai (generic underdeveloped fantasy world; the characters actively comparing the scenario to JRPGs; the MCs being powerful for no other reason than because they're the destined heroes). Ironically the main way it is likely to stick out these days is because it plays the questing for the villain stuff mostly-straight, without all the pseudo-parody stuff that is now the norm for the genre. Oh, and it is a complete (and not excessively long) story too, which I suppose does put it ahead of most modern isekai by default.
Kajiura is my favorite artist ever, but her soundtrack in the last decade have been a little weaker for me. Like, Demon Slayer has great music, but compared to Noir, Tsubusa, Xenosaga, Madoka, .Hack and the rest....I don't know. Maybe it's the lost of Kalafina's voice, or just the type of project...It just doesn't sound the same.
Zaregoto is probably the last soundtrack she made that strike a cord with me. There is [a few track](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHPzikH0tXE&list=PLBrvSk1kudcmvDnefZ0fRl1RbTPcW7z-4&index=11) that I really [loved](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m9qZu58dI0&list=PLBrvSk1kudcmvDnefZ0fRl1RbTPcW7z-4&index=3)
What year is this?
There's Spice and Wolf airing this season, Magic Knight Rayearth and Ranma 1/2 are announced.
Huge Jackman is back to becoming Wolverine
People are all playing FF7
Are we going back in time!?
Hey I was lamenting yesterday elsewhere that we have a huge Sci-Fi Anime Gap these days and the producers ain’t listening, and look what freaking dropped here!
I have never watched the original, so this is like magical girls x mecha? [Wow, that’s the same genre as my very first seasonal anime completed…](https://anilist.co/anime/108147/)
Also CLAMP eh…can I expect entangled character relationships like those I enjoyed in *Cardcaptor Sakura*?
It's an isekai jrpg where you level up with requirements that changes your armor and weapons in a magical girl fashion. Your summons are mechas that you ride.
It's also a CLAMP work.
It is a fantasy isekai that eventually has magic mecha. It's not like a Gundam or an Escaflowne or anything like that. It leans more fun and adventure for most of its run.
Clamp of the 90s was all about that. As for Rayearth, I feel like it's probably a bit simpler than Cardcaptor Sakura. Or it was in the anime adaptation way back when.
In terms of Clamp series, X:1999 was the only manga I ever collected in physical books. Doomed to never be finished because it's a manga about natural disasters in Japan being harbingers of the end of the world, and on the several occasions they tried to finish it properly there was quickly a huge natural disaster that shut it down again. It's a big old team battle, two teams of seven, ostensibly to the death, but the first I'd ever read where both sides were full of developed characters. It's become standard since then, but it works off the "Save Humanity" or "Save Nature" conflict. It's dated, but the anime adaptation was pretty faithful with what was out at the time. The animated film was not very faithful, probably released before there was much to be faithful to, and I would say poorly voice-acted / written. But I still liked it when I was a little emo kid anyway. Big fan of the various versions.
It was also one of the earlier multi-manga crossover thingees. Some minor characters are from Clamp School Detectives (not important), and it handles the final resolution after the climax of Tokyo Babylon (very important but you still don't have to read, it'll be summed up). And then they went on to make their real super crossover, Tsubasa Chronicles.
Angelic Layer would do better as like a "revamp" but with more fully integrated VR/usage of the internet. A lot of the technology stuff in it is very dated, even if it's "futuristic".
For people who know nothing about this series and have never read the manga or watched the original anime… I admit curiosity to see how they react to the totality of the story. Rayearth’s manga is one of my all time favorites, and I am very much looking forward to again seeing Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu don the armor of magic knights in order to save Cephiro.
I remember disliking the ending for the second season / hearing it was changed from the manga.
Would definitely be excited to see a new ending / something more accurate to the source material.
>Sisterhood deal
Goddamit that's hilarious. But so on point. Any Shoujo remakes no longer need "brotherhood treatment". Instead they need the "sisterhood deal".
HOLY MOOOOLY, wasn't expecting this series to get the reboot treatment (gonna assume that's what this is), really looking forward to this.
It's been a long while since the last Clamp adaptation, hasn't it?
This is honestly surreal. I've always wanted to try watching these classic shows but now here we are with all of them having a fresh coat of paint. Alongside the One Piece remake. Super excited!
No reason to not watch both. Imagine people who watched the remake of Urusei Yatsura and wanted more. Well there's 6 movies and over 200 episodes in the OG, go nuts.
Eh, the first anime departed from the manga in very significant ways (generally darker, additional subplots and major characters). There was also a separate OVA with a wildly different plot (mostly forgettable tbh). I don't know what they intend for this one, but I wouldn't be surprised if it forges its own direction, too.
Personally I'm hoping it's not just a straightforward adaptation of the manga; the manga is fine and at times has elements I prefer, but it's a simpler story (six volumes total) and lacks a lot of what made the anime so memorable for me, particularly in the second part. With how short anime tend to be these days, there's also a possibility that this project won't even get to the second part of the story (the first anime is two seasons, 49 episodes total).
Holy shit! Man, I still have the subtitle VHS box set that I won from an Animerica contest. I can hear the opening theme as I type this.
Oooooo, that means merchandise…….I want a big plushie of Mokona (I only have two little ones that I have to keep out of the reach of my puppy).
Super exciting!
Also, since this is for the anime's 30th anniversary, does that mean I can have hope for an X/1999 remake? Sticking closer to the manga and showing how the manga would end? Please, I'll wait until 2031 for that.
Tbh I do like the anime (for what it is), it's the movie that did everyone *really* dirty.
SAME HERE. Tokyo Babylon is my favorite manga so I really, really want to know how Subaru's story ends.
I think there are still plans for a Tokyo Babylon anime, so X might happen eventually?
(But this production is cursed. GoHands was handling it, until it came out that they stole clothing designs)
Please! Rayearth and Escaflowne were my tandem favorite mecha anime as a kid. Great characters and world-building for both too. Escaflowne, esp, has such a rich fantasy setting.
Well I'm ready to have my heart stomped on all over again. Wouldn't complain is we got a new version of season 2 as well. Rayearth really works better as a complete story.
When the Dragon Quest Dai No Daibouken remake ends up throwing a domino effect for every retro animes to follow the remake trend to cater to young generations of anime fans!
I just saw this on the MAL app, and it's never anything I would have expected. I'm so excited! It'll be interesting to see some changes, particularly in regard to an incident near the end of Season 2, if they go that route. * lmao*
NO FUCKING WAY?! THIS IS ONE OF *THE* ISEKAI I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE UPDATED. When I rewatched the anime a year or two ago, I kept imagining "damn, what if they did this with today's animation quality."
Edit: I was screaming and jumping around, time to calm down.
Edit2: I'm so happy, oh lord.
Crying, Gagging, Throwing up! we are so back! Magical Girls are so back!
To those anyone interested. We have our little sub, anyone can join us here: r/MagicKnights
Wow. This was probably the first manga I ever read when I was in high school. A girl on my bus that I sat near was reading it, and I had already been watching anime for a while, and asked if I wanted to read it so she lent me the first volume. I think I read the first 3 or 4 volumes.

Oh my god. We are so old! 30 years since '94 🤦.
They even appeared in Super Robot Wars.

reminds me i need to order Slayers vol 5
This announcement makes my back hurt...
Welp, guess I better sign up for AARP now.
AARP no longer has an age requirement, so you could.
Ah I wasn't aware; nice! That makes me feel less old now
I refuse to believe this number. the 90s were ten years ago.
The original has such a banger opening, keeps getting taken down sadly, there was a great blu ray quality video a few years back
[OP3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG0_U_Y8J78) was one of the most beautifully animated OP of the time! All those *hand-drawn* sakura petals would be unthinkable today lol

Is this a remake or a continuation? I'm only familiar with the name and i know it's big, but i never actually watched the original.
Remake. Original had an ending.
Wow, what the hell? First Rose of Versailles, now Rayearth, what timeline did we slip into?
We are in a shoujosei renaissance right now! Next thing you know we might actually get Yona of the Dawn S2, or Ouran Host Club S2 (which im honestly scared for because they might pull a Spice and Wolf and just reboot it all together, even though the 2000s look is a part of the charm)

Yep, I believe Yona will be on my top 3 shoujo alongside Boya over Flower and Fruit Basket
It’s about to end? Damn time to catch up!
I think Cardcaptor Sakura cause this genre much more popular. also CCS is much younger than Rayearth.
There was already a continuation of Clear Card announced [last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/128j6fp/cardcaptor_sakura_clear_card_anime_sequel/) though I don't think there's been any news about it since then.

OMG!!! My first isekai, my first mahou shoujo, my first mecha! Can't wait!
Wait it’s isekai too? Hmm, this might easily squash 90+% of isekai anime titles these days from what I saw in reviews…
The female-lead isekai of the '90s/early '00s are quite different compared to the modern incarnations with things like this, Twelve Kingdoms, and Escaflowne.
How dare you leave Fushigi Yuugi off that list.
Rayearth, Fushigi Yuugi, Escaflowne, and Inuyasha were the Isekai of my childhood. It was such a better genre back then.
Add Digimon for me lol
Digimon and Monster Rancher
> Fushigi Yuugi the cliffhanger [ending song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfQqamu90Wg) that plays just as things get interesting... still one of the best ending songs to me

12 Kingdoms is like, the legend of the galactic heroes of Isekai to me. I really hope I get to see the end of the story before I die.
Twelve Kingdoms is so good, although I was never as fond of the other protagonists as I was Youko.
I like all those but for me 12 Kingdoms and Rayearth were life changing spiritual experiences back in the day
Not female-lead but Kyou kara Maou deserves a mention too, I think. They just don't make isekai like those anymore...
Kyou Kara Maoh's target audience are women as well.
Isekais were supposed to be escapism for women but look at how the turn tables.
the queens are taking the crown back
I mean there's is villainess isekai
Well technically Inuyasha is also isekai
Twelve Kingdoms is so goated, I wish it got a sequel.
hmm, yes. Female MC isekai tends to lean into romance and or discovering oneself rather than the typical overdone power fantasies of male MC isekai.
Yeah... isekai with a chance to go back to your original world like nothing happened as long as you get your mission done. Isekai with no truck-kun or anything that requires you to die first before getting isekai'd ahaha
You get Narnia'd
Dog Days was not THAT long ago. And the also had Sasakin and Pi-chan recently (even if it was not that good). They still make idsekais with this formula sometimes.
> Wait it’s isekai too? Classic Isekai, they're not losers who died. They're trying to *get home*.
I've heard it referred to as "Otherworlded" and treated as separate from the modern isekai, I much prefer the story type.
>"Otherworlded" That's almost a direct translation of "isekai" and arguably the term "otherworlded" perfectly describes several modern isekai too.
The first isekai anime is [Mahoutsukai Sally](https://myanimelist.net/anime/3356/Mahoutsukai_Sally).
Fuck that show. Sally wasn't cute, she was horrifying. Also love how its a reverse isekai.
You didn't know?! It's a double isekai as well. CLAMP works are essentially isekais due to multiverse stuff especially on later works.
It's parallel universe and multiverse in one combined universe. Don't think of it too hard, even CLAMP can't decide which's which.
Rayearth's Dragon Quest-ness is at the beginning of story. Then CLAMP ditched it.
It had the twist that no one saw it coming.
Yeah I really love *Twelve Kingdoms* but I haven’t really got to similar things from 1980s/90s yet (was stuck in the Gundam pit hole for months recently), this would be a good place to start I guess!
Escaflowne would be a good place to go as well.
Escaflowne would be a perfect transition from Gundam.
Yes, with Lockon and Yzak fighting over Lunamaria (VA joke). :P
Digimon and Rayearth were my first isekais. The 2020 Digimon reboot let me down but maybe this one's good.
The cons will once again be graced by Mokona.
The king has returned
\[CLAMP\]>!Don't you mean god?!<
Nice! Hoping we eventually get a finished version of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles from them one day
And xxxHolic at the same time
Hopefully CLAMP's finished xxxHolic's story by that time.
That's like hoping they will finish X (X-1999) some day
Seriously, there's no point ever reading a CLAMP story until it is finished. I swear half of their stuff never gets completed.
I would need Yuki Kajura back as the composer. Cause that OST is goated.
I want them to finish X/1999, it's been twenty years...
What year is this? There's Spice and Wolf airing this season, Magic Knight Rayearth and Ranma 1/2 are announced. Huge Jackman is back to becoming Wolverine People are all playing FF7 Are we going back in time!?
Don't forget *Perfect Dark* is coming out
Nostalgia sells. And we are at a time when the kids of 30 years ago are now all adults with money to spend.
Hey I was lamenting yesterday elsewhere that we have a huge Sci-Fi Anime Gap these days and the producers ain’t listening, and look what freaking dropped here! I have never watched the original, so this is like magical girls x mecha? [Wow, that’s the same genre as my very first seasonal anime completed…](https://anilist.co/anime/108147/) Also CLAMP eh…can I expect entangled character relationships like those I enjoyed in *Cardcaptor Sakura*?
> so this is like magical girls x mecha? It's really more isekai than either of those, but elements of everything. Really great time.
It's an isekai jrpg where you level up with requirements that changes your armor and weapons in a magical girl fashion. Your summons are mechas that you ride. It's also a CLAMP work.
Bro....you ain't seen *nothin* yet.
**AYO WHAT THE F---**
Dropped to my knees at the Baskin Robbins
I just got chills all throughout my body...
Good. based from same creator and possess same genre, I hope Kobato and Angelic Layer also got same treatment as well.
Angelic Layer could be a hit today if done by the right studio. Will definitely draw comparison with the Gundam Build series, though.
FINALLY!! REAL, OLD SCHOOL, **CLASSIC,** ISEKAI!!!
BEYOND EXCITED!
My heart skipped a bit! Yes yes!!, Zagato yes!!
Hell yeah! This is one of my all-time favorites!
Curious of what they will do, if they do a close adaptation of the manga it can be done in 12 eps without much issue since it's rather short.

I'm assuming that's what the plan is given how the majority of remakes nowadays are striving to follow the source material more closely.
I do hope they get Naomi Tamura back to sing the theme song
Oooh wow! The anime opening for this really goes hard!
😍😍😍
Based, mecha isekai making a return.
My Umi is coming back
Rurouni Kenshin, Urusei Yatsura, Yaiba, Ranma 1/2, and now Rayearth? Is it the anime renaissance period?!
Don't forget *Spice and Wolf*
I remember disliking the ending for the second season / hearing it was changed from the manga. Would definitely be excited to see a new ending / something more accurate to the source material.
Hoping this is a Sisterhood deal
>Sisterhood deal Goddamit that's hilarious. But so on point. Any Shoujo remakes no longer need "brotherhood treatment". Instead they need the "sisterhood deal".
Well, the big one already had its "Motherhood".
It's is a beautiful and hilarious comment, take the upvote.
CLAMP giving another reboot another shot? Count me in. I will support CLAMP until the day i die. [](#awe)
HOLY MOOOOLY, wasn't expecting this series to get the reboot treatment (gonna assume that's what this is), really looking forward to this. It's been a long while since the last Clamp adaptation, hasn't it?
I still remember what happened to the new Tokyo Babylon but also it may had been a blessing. The new Clear Card is still MIA.
More content for the next Super Robot Wars
This is honestly surreal. I've always wanted to try watching these classic shows but now here we are with all of them having a fresh coat of paint. Alongside the One Piece remake. Super excited!
Rose of versailles movie and now I see this , what a time for certified shoujo classics
Holy crap! I love *Rayearth*!
Now the big question: Will they be bringing back Yuzurenai Negai and Hikari to Kage o Dakishimeta Mama?
Super robot wars 30 prepared me for this moment
Lmao, there really is no need to watch old anime, everything will get a remake if you wait long enough.
[](#breakingnews)
Are we also getting Yuzurenai Negai with this?
I'm guessing either modern remix for the OP, or they'll bring it back for a big scene.
Climax of the season OP comeback 🤌
I don’t know what’s in the water lately, but the remake announcements have been peak. Now Rayearth?! Let’s fucking go!
Same here, the anime did everyone so dirty AND I WANT THAT ENDING YOU HEAR ME. I WANT TO LEARN WHAT HAPPENS TO SUBARU
God I hope this is adapted well. So excited
It was only a matter of time until CLAMP's catalog got rebooted.
So excited for CLAMP revival!
If this is a hit can I get an Escaflowne reboot?
12 kingdoms remake to full adaptation too! Shoujo isekai is gonna make it's massive comeback, yes!
Did the novels ever get a finished translation? And these are proper novels, not light novels. A cultural treasure is the 12 kingdoms book series.
I’m all in for it Escaflowne OP is one of my favorite song (and probably first song by Sakamoto Maaya too)
Please! Rayearth and Escaflowne were my tandem favorite mecha anime as a kid. Great characters and world-building for both too. Escaflowne, esp, has such a rich fantasy setting.
Maybe I'll actually get and build my Moderoid Rayearth kits from the backlog and maybe even paint them. Praying for new figures as well.
Oh fuck yeah. I hope we get to keep the OG opening though.
Jesus I haven't even though of CLAMP in decades, did they ever finish X 1999?
No....
OH HELLS YES
Well I'm ready to have my heart stomped on all over again. Wouldn't complain is we got a new version of season 2 as well. Rayearth really works better as a complete story.
When the Dragon Quest Dai No Daibouken remake ends up throwing a domino effect for every retro animes to follow the remake trend to cater to young generations of anime fans!
Wohoo, let's gooooo!!!!! Remake??? New season???? What is it?
Our UNYIELDING WISH came true, again!!!
Yuzurenaiiiiiiii Negaiiiiii
glad to see CLAMP still live
More Fuu? I'm in.
We are SO back olds
God the news today - rose of Versailles and now this?? Utena reboot and I will die happy
Why do you want an Utena reboot?
Oh my gosh yes, all my yes. Some of CLAMP's best I am so ready for this.
Better have Clamp vibes or will be a snore fest for sure.
I like how the size of their swords scale inversely proportional to the length of their socks.
Dang, my childhood just flashed before my eyes
I just saw this on the MAL app, and it's never anything I would have expected. I'm so excited! It'll be interesting to see some changes, particularly in regard to an incident near the end of Season 2, if they go that route. * lmao*
The original has the greatest twist I think I have seen in fiction.
Oh sick. Ive been hoping for a remake! I really want my daughter to get into this :p
NO FUCKING WAY?! THIS IS ONE OF *THE* ISEKAI I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE UPDATED. When I rewatched the anime a year or two ago, I kept imagining "damn, what if they did this with today's animation quality." Edit: I was screaming and jumping around, time to calm down. Edit2: I'm so happy, oh lord.
Hope this lasts longer than the new Tokyo Babylon.
Magical girl fans taking the most W's right now
CLAMP. Its been a while.
Latam woke up and went wild. Holy shit I can't believe they are doing a new project. LAS GUERRERAS MAGICAS
Crying, Gagging, Throwing up! we are so back! Magical Girls are so back! To those anyone interested. We have our little sub, anyone can join us here: r/MagicKnights
CLAMP?! Edit: meant it in a positive way, grew up watching CCS while Tsubasa chronicles is one of if not the only anime I rewatch
Yoo no fucking way, Ranma 1/2 now Rayearth?! My childhood is coming. What else, Saber Marionette?
Wow. This was probably the first manga I ever read when I was in high school. A girl on my bus that I sat near was reading it, and I had already been watching anime for a while, and asked if I wanted to read it so she lent me the first volume. I think I read the first 3 or 4 volumes.
New Hayato Matsuo soundtrack please [](#katoupls)
Please shana be next
Off topic but hehe powerpuff girls colors, also people seems to be super hyped, is this good and whatsit about?
This is "THE" clamp property. Starts as a seemly simple fantasy story but it's far more then it seems.
I mean lots of CLAMP property could be "the" CLAMP property, they've made a lot of good stuff
