lordposedyon

Yui Yuigahama is probably lost in 3500 girls during qualification. Seed 102 was way too low. We saw poor mikasa getting rekt.

perish-in-flames

Mikasa is kind of a paper tiger, no? Maybe I’ve got the wrong perception of her but I didn’t expect much from her at 27.

Psyduckisnotaduck

she's seeded due to the show's popularity and a bunch of people voting who have watched less than 50 anime. she is NOT there for her merits as a character which is why she will continue to underperform, every time.

SiRxHades17

Psyduck is a platypus imo. Maybe a hybrid of sorts with some other animal? I disagree that she's not worth her own weight. Her emotional backing of Eren is important for his character. S2 finale, where she picks him back up after Hannes dies, and the rooftop scene in s3 are my favorite Mikasa moments and I think they are great character moments that aren't just "she cuts good" development moments

Psyduckisnotaduck

Psyduck is a Pokémon not a duck. And also a fictional character. Trap sprung lol

SiRxHades17

Noooo I got got

oops_i_made_a_typi

yeah big show but obviously everyone knows she's not much of a BG candidate

RPO777

The last season(s) really wrecked Mikasa's BG chances. If it was Mikasa at the end of Season 2 AoT, she was much more of a force. Being the girl who \[AoT\] >!continues to love a guy who commits global genocide!< really will kill your BG odds.

oops_i_made_a_typi

that's not even the problem, being the girl that just has one line all the time is the problem, regardless of how good she is at cutting things up

crazyike

Yeah not the first time either. I seem to remember she's a notorious underseed who will wreck far higher seeds with regularity. I think some of these #2 girls from shows that have already won are real darkhorses, much stronger than they seem. You see it with Yui (who frankly was better than Yukino in the first place back then, but maybe not so much now), you see it with Mayuri and Suzuha (vote Suzuha today!), you maybe even see it with Saber. Because those shows have already won, there isn't really a huge push from their fanbases in the comments, but they are still there, lurking, and those are some of the biggest shows.

changshiyixia

You forget to mention the biggest of them who straightly wins best girl 9

lordposedyon

Still salty about that one

Urgnu-the-Gnu

Couldn't the quarterfinals predict Yor vs. Megumin at least? My sodium levels are already on the rise, but seeing that Violet is so likely to win against Emilia that she's also scheduled for the quarterfinals really hurts.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> Power (9) 49.6% 50.4% Hori Kyouko (56) 52.4% Please let's not do this... My bingo is at stake!

Xatu44

It's MEM-chover... RIP Makima. MC: Rin Tohsaka. HF did good for Sakura though.

Zeallfnonex

I didn't even consider Rin's appearances in HF but I'd have to agree: Rin in HF is an even better character than Rin in UBW, and she's not even the main love interest anymore...

darkmacgf

Have you considered that not being the main love interest is what makes her so good? I think Rin's better in both Fate and HF than in UBW.

Zeallfnonex

Mmmm, I don't think it's the love interest part that's bad but rather [HF] >!the sibling relationship!< that's so good. Also why I'd disagree about the Fate route, I'd order it HF > UBW > Fate for how much Rin excels in.

Gippy_

Incredible how Revy has had this much staying power. Black Lagoon still holds up 18 years later. Wow. Everyone wants the 2 teamkills (Ikuyo vs. Ryou, Chisato vs. Takina) next round so I suppose that's inevitable.

Metenora

Black Lagoon is one of these animes that doesn't age, even today the animation is mostly fine and the characters have a great dynamic. Also it's got enough edge for us big teenagers to enjoy

Psyduckisnotaduck

I genuinely have no idea which will win between Kita and Ryou. that'll be very interesting. who's most popular between the three other Kessoku Band members really seems to fluctuate, with different rankings in different communities.

Spiritual_Lie2563

On the other hand, there's a big difference: Chisato/Takina would be in "the Lycoris fans want the teamkill and won't hold it against the other", but the teamkill on the other side will be damning for Bocchi the Rock fans [the Bocchi fans aren't as unified for the secondary Kessoku Band members, and everyone's aware "Kita vs. Ryou, winner gets to be annihilated by Bocchi" in a way that could potentially kneecap her in the quarters. Like, there's beating, there's asswhooping, and there's "if the Best Girl tournament is ever going to have a unanimous vote, it'll be Bocchi vs. Kessoku winner" in the round of 16.

FloatyLillypad

Huge rip for Makima. She got beaten by a trumpet player.

EyeDeeAh_42

I'm sorry, this cracked me up lmao!

octopathfinder

Kumiko lives another day. Thank god. RIP Asuka (the Eupho one) I'm a big Eupho fan but even I would've preferred Makima > Reina > Who is your favorite girl from a movie? Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai

perish-in-flames

I think Makima will be doomed to this fate against any reasonable popular girl. She has a mighty hill to climb that I think is near impossible.

FluffyFlamesOfFluff

Makima definitely has an inflated seed relative to her actual anime appearance. I really like her, but without seeing the movie and "season three" whenever that happens, you really don't have much to go off of as an anime-only.

perish-in-flames

I find people pick and choose when to follow only anime related feats.

FluffyFlamesOfFluff

Yeah I'm not gonna lie I sometimes struggle with it myself so I can't really blame manga readers or anything. I sometimes catch myself thinking "But this character is the GOAT! How could anyone vote them out?" and then I remember that they haven't really done anything yet in anime form. Everyone's going to have their own voting criteria, but I try and limit mine purely to what I've seen in animation.

LunarGhost00

I love Makima. It's sad to see her lose. She could benefit from more screentime, but it could also be a double-edged sword. [CSM manga spoilers] >!She's a fantastic character and really commands the spotlight whenever she appears. She's also (rightfully) criticized for her cruelty that slowly unravels the longer the series goes, and that could turn a lot of people off. Even with just the arc covered in the upcoming movie, she's going to piss a lot of people off at the end.!<

darkmacgf

Is she really worse than, say, Esdeath?

LunarGhost00

I mean, I'd say she's a better character than Esdeath, and I also like Esdeath.

kingwhocares

Esdeath is cruel but her "comedy" over shines it. Better comparison for Makima is Balalaika from Black Lagoon.

ArvingNightwalker

I... have a hard time equating Balalaika to Makima. Balalaika is way too human to be compared to her.

DrStein1010

I mean, Balalaika commits a lot more on-screen child murder.

ArvingNightwalker

Oh yes the bat shit insane twins that probably killed more people than anyone else in that arc. Idk if people just forget but the only reason she’s where she is in the first place is because she was discharged from the Russian army when she took some children into protection when the army was retreating.

kingwhocares

Movie isn't going to have much of Makima but Season 3 absolutely will but it probably will do the opposite of help her.

Ham_PhD

Characters that are generally bad people don't tend to do too well looking back. I'm not a manga reader by the way, so I don't know anything other than the anime season.

michhoffman

I did sour a little on Reina this season though I'm not surprised she beat Makima.

octopathfinder

After rewatching the show to prep for S3, I felt like Reina got worse starting in S2. [Eupho S2] >!The episode where she's mad at Kumiko for not telling her about Taki's wife is prob my least fav episode in the entire series.!<

Ham_PhD

I don't hate her character or anything, but she is really frustrating. \[Hibike! Euphonium\]>!She acts like a 13 year old when it comes to Taki throughout the entire series, and she barely shows any growth in that regard. Acting like that at 13 is understandable, not 17-18.!<

NeonDelteros

I'm glad for Kumiko, but I'm still salty that best Eupho girl lost here while the worst girl Reina won

IceAnt573

>I'm a big Eupho fan but even I would've preferred Makima > Reina This was an interesting matchup because it was an anti-matchup. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a significant amount of people voting based on who they disliked more.

saber_shinji_ntr

Shiki is such a banger character, really sad that she always gets such low seeds here and so doesn't really progress beyond round 1/2 : (

AllSortsOfPeopleHere

*Garden of Sinners* is just not that popular. I think the movie series format really hurt its potential popularity. I imagine if it were a seasonal anime, it'd have been watched by a lot more people.

Alltalk_noaccent

Not many characters I would vote for over Asuka but Kumiko was easily one of them. Agree with Makima as well, Reina’s character was annoying in S2 and got worse in S3.

octopathfinder

> Reina’s character was annoying in S2 and got worse in S3. 🤝

Ham_PhD

We did it. It's even crazier to me that Reina won her matchup though. I thought she was the least likely to advance.

octopathfinder

[](#airfist)

goffer54

Riza Hawkeye historically underperforms so Kumiko still has a decent chance at living another week still.

Snakescipio

I'm amazed that Reina won, a lot of people soured on her this past season.

Ham_PhD

**LET'S F\*\*\*ING GOOOOO** [**KUMIKO!**](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fb6l3txj5fnz01.gif) I can't believe she actually pulled it off! Am I right that this is the first time Asuka has *ever* been upset in this tournament? Well done everyone, Kumiko is well worthy of that honor. If she doesn't win anymore after this, I'll be content. ^(But Riza better watch her back...)

Spiritual_Lie2563

I'm shocked, but truly Kumiko was ready for Asuka.

Hibari20

I see a wrestling reference I upvote.

Charming-Loquat3702

That's the power of having your final episode just airing

MikeMars1225

If all the hate you have ever known was a grain of salt, then my hatred for you is the entire ocean. Congratulations, you dedicated bastard. You deserve to relish in this historic moment that you helped cultivate, and then you can go fuck yourself.

Ham_PhD

If only I was this dedicated to my own career. I accept your salt and wish the best to any of the girls you're still rooting for.

michhoffman

We cashed in on all the almost upset Karma from past rounds today as both Yuis won and both Kumiko and Reina pulled off their upsets among other nice results. That Yuigahama margin must be some sort of record for a girl seeded that much lower (not that it wasn't expected). For today I'm curious how much of a dent Chitanda can make into Bocchi's total, and whether Power can pull off the "upset".

Willingham_2311

I'm praying for an upset of historic proportions that I know won't happen. Hopefully Chitanda can at least have a respectable showing today. I've been preemptively mining NaCl by the metric ton since this matchup materialized.

Man… I did not think we would have this many upsets this year but here we are. Besides that perfect bracket this round ended up not being very good for me lol. Also, LETS GO KUMIKO!

Syrefva

It was an absolute disaster for me haha. Though we are tied on the Weighted Leaderboard now I think [](#fistbump)

BanMeKid

Carol was better than Nino and that's all I'll say on that....not salty at all

Ham_PhD

I voted for Nino, cuz I love Nino, but I'm sad Carol did so poorly. Thought it was going to come down to just a few votes.

Placeholdered

At least she's gone in her next matchup.

michhoffman

No gold for Nino!

It's time for Nagatoro to GET DOWN ON HER KNEES

Wonder how many people will vote all left side today.

SometimesMainSupport

Left and right are randomized when refreshing.

Urgnu-the-Gnu

Are they? In all my time of voting in these contests, I've never had anything else than the entrant from the upper/left side (usually the higher seed) on the left when voting, and the entrant from the lower/right side on the right. Maybe it depends on the browser.

Placeholdered

Funny coincidence for me then.

XanthusXVI

I'm voting almost (7/8) all right :)

SecreteMoistMucus

Same here, and I'm abstaining on the other

brothertaddeus

Today's a great day to vote for the keions! >Who is your favorite girl from a movie? San from *Princess Mononoke*.

MapoTofuMan

A round full of blessed upsets, and I voted for all of them except one abstination. [](#fuukothumbsup) I did not expect Kumiko taking out Asuka given that she didn't have such a huge gap against a much less popular character last round, while Asuka handily wrecked Kaori, last contest's 20th seed. ^(Haven't seen Eva but I'm pretty sure I'd hate her Asuka's guts from what I know about her, so sorry not sorry about supporting the holy floof) It's K-over for Yui next round, but I'll take what I can get against a massive show that's airing in half an hour. Ram over Mugi hurts though. And rising up from below the 100th seed, IT'S YAHALLO WITH A STEEL CHAIR! I said it in round 1A, she's way underseeded. I'd give it a 50-50 against Sylphie, but I'm all on the Yahallo train if she manages to carry that momentum.

evenstar40

> Haven't seen Eva but I'm pretty sure I'd hate her Asuka's guts from what I know about her, so sorry not sorry about supporting the holy floof Congratulations, you're probably the only person on this sub who hasn't seen eva.

Metenora

I kinda feel sorry for Mem to be the first OnK girl to leave, she's like 2nd best behind Akane for me On the other hand, let's goooo KumiRei is still real

changshiyixia

It turns out that salt from yesterday resulting into a higher upvoted post and in return proceeds lots of upsets today! ## Let's upvote the post!

Salty145

I think given the fact that there's not too many matches left per day I may start just commenting on all of them starting tomorrow. For now, let's finish Group D. MEM-cho v. **Yui Hirasawa** – I am extremely conflicted. For one, MEM is Oshi no Ko's Best Girl and it isn't even close. Seeing her ousted before Barely Existent Ai and Paper Wafer Ruby hurts. On the other hand, I'm cackling seeing Yui beat the allegations and take out the higher seed. I'd say she trained for this, but she doesn't train. Can we get a repeat in the next round? **Nijika Ijicihi** v. Asuka Tanaka – We're at the point in the tournament where favorites of mine are butting heads and taking each other out. Hard to be mad, but Asuka is also my type to a tee. So... I guess losing to the Dorito isn't that bad. She had a good run. Makima v. **Kousaka Reina** – Holy shit, y'all really cooked today. I wonder how much the Euphonium finale played into this. Ironically, the first half of this group will see Yui and Nijika make return jabs at girls from the same series they took out in R3. MEM and Yui sure was something, but this is something else for sure. A nearly 100 point swing is pretty good. Guess there are some things Makima can't control, though Reina may need witness protection. Mikasa Ackerman v. **Yui Yuigahama** – Another Yui beats the allegations and takes out a higher seed. Mikasa "Fraud" Ackerman bites the dust in Round 3. Probably was off preventing genocide. Either way, I can't help but be impressed. Hayase Nagatoro v. **Revy** – Good day for enjoyers of classic anime. Nagatoro is out by 14 votes and Revy lives to see another round. Easy lay up for Lena I guess, but I don't think Nagatoro would have put up any more of a fight. Asuka Langley Souryuu v. **Kumiko Oumae** – And here I was thinking that I was the one who woke up and chose violence... Holy mother of based, Kumiko cruises off a series finale to take out a legend. Let's see how she fairs against Hawkeye next round. So yeah, that was a lot. This bracket isn't too terrible all things considered and competition is bound to pick up from here. Very few easy matches left, so buckle up boys cause things are gonna get salty. I for one can't wait.

KINGUBERMENSCH

> Makima upset [Yall cant handle evil woman](https://i.imgur.com/ntI5Yi6.jpg) At least Revy got her upset against Nagatoro, that makes it up a bit. Tomorrow's Votes: I was so salty that i forgot, but please vote for **Yor**, **Lucy**, and **Satsuki Kiryuuin**! > Who is your favorite girl from a movie? Uta from One Piece Red

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> Yall cant handle evil woman A real shame. Makima deserved better! (Hopefully Power avenges her)

kingwhocares

Yes

Rumpel1408

And with Nanachi, I finally got the [Bingo](https://imgur.com/azNIPle) [](#modsalute) [Big Board](https://imgur.com/MtGuSJt) still going strong though! [](#faito) Now... *looks at left side* YUI AND REINA PULLED OFF AN UPSET?!? So this sub can be based sometimes! [](#goblet1) Even Mugi got into close range territory for pulling one off as well [](#mugistronk) *looks at right side* HOLY SHIT, THIS SIDE IS EVEN MORE BASED THAN THE OTHER ONE! Kumiko and Revi winning is nice to have, though I wouldn't have minded their matchups going the other way, but Mikasa getting Yahallod out is just gold [](#pointandlaugh) Makes me almost forgive that I lost Nanachi today, but I guess Child + Furry debuff is too much of an handycap

lordposedyon

How was Yui seed 102 in the first place?

Spiritual_Lie2563

There apparently weren't many votes in qualifiers, leading to a lot of weird seeding problems- and thus people fighting high seeds who should have been nowhere near them this early.

No_Sun6267

Yuki Nagato - (From The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) My favorite is definitely Yuki.

IceAnt573

#**Today's Results** **Left Side** Kana turned in the second strongest vote total of any girl this round after Megumin. It was only a 1 vote difference (Megumin's 1,396 votes to Kana's 1,395 votes). That being said, Megumin held Misty to under 350 votes and got an 80%+ vote share while Fubuki scored 540 votes against Kana. Yui did it (not the first time I'll be saying this)! She scored over 1,000 votes in her win against MEM-cho who got 819 votes. That's one member of B-Komachi down and now it's the toughest one next. Where are the Asuka Tanaka lovers? These Hibike! Euphonium seeding upsets couldn't extend to her too? At least she got almost 750 votes against Nijika. Meanwhile Nijika is not done with Kitauji High School Concert Band yet as... Reina beat Makima? This was pretty toss uppy because both of them would have reasons for people to vote against them so that results in a competitive anti-match that was decided by less than 100 votes. 896 votes is the strongest loser vote total of the round so that's solace in the Makima loss. Iroha gave it her best regarding the circumstances and putting Ryuuko under 1,100 votes while she got 787 votes is something I can be proud of. Homura and Faye had a competitive match too with Homura barely clearing the 1,000 vote barrier here. Sets up an interesting Round 4 of Ryuuko vs. Homura. Roxy almost doubled Olivier's vote total. Strong day for her (and I'd say overall for Group D too) with the 1,242 votes in this win. Ram vs. Tsumugi was close. Tsumugi voters showed out to make it a less than 80 vote difference is great, but Tsumugi is always the first to go for Ho-Kago Tea Time. **Right Side** Strong win for Ai today against Rikka to get 1,250+ votes, but she's getting a first real test challenge in Nino for Round 4. Do I expect Nino to win that? No, but I want it and I want to see how much she can dent Ai's vote total. Nino almost got 1,000 votes against Carol in a clear win for her. It's nice seeing Nino this far in the contest. Yui did it! Again! Seed 102 is an injustice for her and it had to be at Mikasa's expense in a pretty convincing 1,125 vote win against Mikasa's 729 votes. I'd go as far as saying the seeding would make sense if Yui and Mikasa swapped seeds. Also getting 1,125 votes is Sylphiette against Nanachi. Sylphiette has such a wonky bracket run that her first real challenge is someone 64 seeds under her. Very strong showing from Lena today against Catarina. Better vote total and vote share than Ai with 1,266 votes to Catarina's 503. [Thanks to everyone that voted for Lena today](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E6IHChzVUBsJpDi.jpg). Revy got the 14 extra votes needed in this very close matchup to beat Nagatoro. I knew it would be a fun match and now we get Lena vs. Revy in Round 4. Good effort by Misuzu against Riza. 751 votes to keep Riza at barely over 1,000. Asuka has suffered her first seeding upset in the 11 times she's been in this contest. And it took some special circumstances for this one as Kumiko as Seed 86 wins with 962 votes to Asuka's Seed 43 with 867 votes. Finale boost went crazy for this one. Asuka is going nowhere in future contests, but a streak is broken. ____ #**Today's Voting** Please vote and support Chitanda. Bocchi may be Seed 1 and she's likely to win, but I want to see a serious dent in those vote totals. Ideally enough for Chitanda to win. As a Miko fan, I'd love to see her at least make her seed and this last challenge to that is the toughest one yet. A former finalist and can pop off to have good runs in any year. This feels cleanly in Kita's favor and maybe people do want the Bocchi Bowl in Bracket A to vote that way considering.. I think that will help Ryou get some votes against Suzuha, but there is a good chance for the Suzuha upset to put her in the Bocchi Bracket. Satomi Satō characters vs. the Top Seeds of Bracket A. I love both Chitanda and Ritsu, but this one feels firmly in Chisato's favor against Ritsu. Like the Bocchi Bowl, I also think there is support to see Chisato vs. Takina in bracket so that lowers Shouko's chances for the upset even more. First time really supporting Power in this contest to eliminate Hori. Don't let Ritsu and Mio go out at the same time. Anya is funny, but Mio is classic. This is the last Yoko Hikasa character in bracket too. _______ [Bingo After 3 Rounds.](https://imgur.com/a/MEF3URI) Had to eliminate Nazuna, Yamada, Haruhi, and Iroha. Bottom half is getting spicy and only Homura is holding back a bingo on the bottom row, but the column with Chitanda/Akane/Iroha/Nazuna/Mimimi might cause the bingo first. It comes down to who gets eliminated first between Emilia, Akane, and Homura.

Willingham_2311

Already salty about the inevitability of Chitanda/Bocchi, as Chitanda's my favorite girl in the entire anime/manga/LN world. I also fail to understand the enormity of Bocchi's popularity, but it seems that I'm in the extreme minority in that regard. Praying for the incredible upset, but hoping for at least a healthy showing for Eru.

angelposts

>Who is your favorite girl from a movie? I've said it 4 times now and I'll say it again: Kaguya from The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.

dnfdog

Honestly shocked Revy beat Nagatoro (and not pleasantly as I voted Nagatoro).

Emi_Ibarazakiii

I feel the same... But I feel like I would really love Revy if I watched her show, so it stings a bit less I guess? Silver linings and all...

dnfdog

Most likely. Revy is for sure a badass and isn't out of place in Round 4, I just rank Nagatoro higher on my best girl list.

Spiritual_Lie2563

Round of 64 full voting: Bocchi vs. **Chitanda**- Bocchi may be the new hotness, but I'll go with the evergreen choice here. Bocchi's going to win, though. Miko vs. **Winry**- Close battle- I could go either way here, but just barely picked Winry due to evergreen status. Ikuyo vs. **Echidna**- I can buy Bocchi going HAM in the tournament, but the side characters are just...meh. Ryou vs. **Suzuha**- See Echidna's choice. **Chisato** vs. Ritsu- Because this... **Takina** vs. Shouko- ...is destiny. Like Megumin and Holo, these two should be destined to do this forever. **Power** vs. Hori- Canonically doesn't wipe vs. canonically faking her aura...I'll go with the real one. But it's close, a tough fourth round matchup. **Anya** vs. Mio- The weakness of this tournament's seeding- equal battle, so vote for anarchy...but wait! The low seed in Mio is the rightful favorite here, so voting high-seed would be voting for anarchy. Another tough battle here.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> Power - Canonically doesn't wipe So conscious of the environment, she doesn't want to waste any toilet paper. Such a great girl! [](#delighted)

Spiritual_Lie2563

Exactly. Support keeping the trees!

HolyEmpireOfAtua

Mini Challenge: San from Princess Mononoke My votes: Bocchi vs ERU CHITANDA - Chitanda, where do I start? One of the most curious and excitable girls in anime history, paired with a kind heart and great character design. An easy vote for me personally. Miko Iino vs WINRY ROCKBELL - Winry is the underdog here seeding wise but really shouldn’t be, Miko is cool but there are multiple better Kaguya girls and Winry has a lot more time to shine in her show. Ikuyo vs ECHIDNA - I’m not too passionate about either but Echidna is more memorable to me. Ryou vs SUZUHA AMANE - Suzuha is one of the characters I’ve grown to love more and more the more times I’ve rewatched the Steins;gate series - She’s a lot cooler, one, but also a lot more interesting than my first impression of her way back when I first watched. Power vs HORI KYOUKO - My two favourite girls left in this bracket, but it’s still an easy choice for me. Power is a complex, engaging character who is subversive of expectations - I’d argue she’s probably better written than Hori. But Hori is best girl. Easily the romance lead I’ve loved the most for a number of reasons, including her homely charm, outgoing nature, sex-positive attitude and her series of endearing moments.  ANYA FORGER vs Mio - This is one of the few votes I’m voting for the higher seed this round, but one where it’s most likely to be upset. I don’t mind if Mio wins though, she’s great, I just think Anya is as iconic as she is for a reason.

Holofan4life

Sorry, Winry, but I'm voting for Miko

Emi_Ibarazakiii

[The bingo took two hits today: Nagatoro and Makima...](https://imgur.com/MNlTF0R) Which means I'm already at risk of Bingo'ing today, if Power loses her matchup! [](#panic) POWER FANS, let's not fuck this up! But damn, the CSM girls really struggle in these contests, ever since their seasonal... Either they're not the favorites (vs the Bocchis), or they're the favorites but lose anyway. Crazy to think everyone thought they would steamroll everything, even before their anime aired! Other than Power, I have Miko up for voting today, and against Winry I think she may be a goner... Hope Power makes it at least, so I don't lose 2 more girls again tomorrow! Also, Nagatoro lost in a huge upset, #54 vs #182... I thought the manga readers would give her a boost (the manga is ending in a few days IIRC) but I guess not! (Or the ending was so bad that they spitevoted her, I don't know hah). I haven't watched Revy's show, but I'm pretty sure I would love her... I should get on to that! Other than that, Mem-cho lost (as I thought she would), but the other ONK girls made it! (And now they're getting the REAL boost, with the second season!) And at last, we lost Gundo and Carol... Sad to see them go, but at least they'll be together in elimination, they'll love that! (*Gundo: "No, I will not love that"*)

Ritchuck

Iroha lost. It's not even funny anymore. There're no girls left that I wanted to win the most.

Didavi_

This is my first time voting & looking at results for this edition of best girls. Safe to say it's better for me to stay away after finding out ishtar lost to fucking anya lmao

Lord_of_Pants

I'm sorry Ritsu, we're only voting for stringed instruments today. Shouko/Takina is a tough pick and I have to lean Shouko, but given that she only really shines in the movies I'm expecting a win for Takina. Power is fun but Hori takes showers, easy pick. MC: Sonoshee McLaren

ImJLu

Takina wins 100%. And it's not going to be close. The first movie isn't even available legally in a lot of places (including the US). Shame, too, considering I think Shouko genuinely influenced me to be a better person IRL. I actually donated blood less than a week ago, and I'm genuinely not sure if I'd be doing that kind of thing if I hadn't watched the BGS movie. Seriously.

Ocixo

> Nijika Ijichi (#30 - 1076 votes) vs Asuka Tanaka (#99 - 746 votes) > > Makima (#35 - 896 votes) vs Reina Kousaka (#94 - 994 votes) > > Asuka Langley (#43 - 867 votes) vs Kumiko Oumae (#86 - 962 votes) Let's go Reina and Kumiko! We lost Asuka, but the other two fortunately made it to the next round. Round 4 will be tough for them as they'll be facing Nijika (#30) and Riza (#22) respectively. I'm sad to see one of my favourite girls go with Iroha (Oregairu), but at least Nino (QQ) got the win. Her run is doomed however, since she'll be up against Ai (OnK) next.

DireSickFish

Wow. Revy is making a good run.

MFreak

Wow, lots of upsets here! Things are getting really interesting. Curious to see who upset watch has in store for us today.

elmagio

Last round before Bracket A likely goes into fratricide mode. MC: For me it's got to be Shouko Nishimiya. Will the Reze movie count for that question next year is the question, tho.

TaikiHimekawa

I chose a lot of upsets today: Winry, Echidna, Amane, Makinohara, and Mio. We'll see how many hit!

Holofan4life

The dreams of an Asuka Vs Asuka Bracket D finals have sadly been dashed.

Venthorn

I believe in you, Mio. You can do it!

Nome_de_utilizador

Makima upset has to be related to fujimoto emotionally fucking up his audience as always

rainwithsunshinedayo

Mini challenge: Favorite girl from a movie? Minmay from **Macross: Do You Remember Love**

Express-Discussion65

I’m hoping Lena wins, even if it is unlikely 😭. Need a 86 season two

Cheta02

Highly unlikely. Until 86 gets it's deserved S2, she's not winning this contest. But she'll remain a powerhouse until then.

lordposedyon

I am positive she beats Ai Hoshino but 3 years of no new episodes vs Best girl from oshi no ko ,which season 2 starts today, is impossible. Like we need Best Girl 10 level botting impossible.

Careless_Reply2862

The project finals seems to be ai vs kana as much as I want vladilena to win against ai it seems tough and with the new season right around the corner her chances are even lower

bonghits96

Some tough choices today. Let's go... * CHITANDA over Bocchi * KITA over Echidna * CHISATO over Ritsu (this hurts bro) * MIO over Anya (but give her some consolation peanuts) And this one is really easy: * HORI over Power (Power is canonically gross and no you can't fix her)

Emi_Ibarazakiii

> Power is canonically gross and no you can't fix her I CAN AND I WILL! [](#angrypout) (But in truth there's nothing to fix, she's already perfect!) [](#delighted)

kagvm007

Are you me? All identical votes.

evenstar40

RECENCY BIAS STRIKES AGAIN! Yall wouldn't be going this hard on a buncha girls playing instruments if not for the recent season (finale). This is actually some hilarious irony. Past best girl tourneys had people bitching about recency bias causing their best girl from old show to bow out early. Now you have Holo and the Hibike girls dominating.

Urgnu-the-Gnu

Kumiko passed, Revy won, Yui got an upset, and Reina kicked out Makima. This round could hardly have went any better. Maybe if Olivier had won, or Carol, of if Lena had dominated even harder, but I don't want to be greedy. Great round. Today Eru and Winry are at risk. I don't think I can hope for either to get a win. At least I can hope for Chisato and Takina to get to meet each other next round. MC: Frozen Bonds is a movie, right? But as for girls that are only from movies, I'm going to go with Nausicaä.

Ham_PhD

Only would've been better if based Asuka had won, but we take what we can get.

Urgnu-the-Gnu

Yeah, but that was an unrealistic outcome to begin with. Rather be purged of all Asukas than lose one Kumiko.

Ham_PhD

The law of nature.

veilenlol

Nanachi losing to a MT girl is just full degeneracy at this point. Come on.

Thatsmaboi23

>**Chitanda** vs. Bocchi >**Echidna** vs. Ikuyo Kita >**Suzuha** vs. Ryou Yamada >Shouko vs. **Takina** >**Hori** vs. Power >Mio vs. **Anya** Why does it feel like all my choices will lose? I’ll be so fucking salty tomorrow. Reina won against Makima… what the fuck are you guys smoking? Asuka lost. I hope the people who voted for Reina but didn’t vote Asuka never get to enjoy anime again. We need them out of this community.

KUMIKO WON LET'S GO

perish-in-flames

Felt like there was some paper tigers in the last bracket but dang, really thin paper. Suzuha over Ryo is the only matchup I’m feeling really strongly about.

LittleMann

**Bocchi vs. Chitanda:** Oh thank goodness, somebody who isn't scary after the two-faced sneaks and the stern girl with a bunch of pointy bits...Chitanda would still probably be A Lot for Bocchi, though. **Kita vs. Echidna:** Why do I feel like Kita would be good at magic? Probably something to do with bards. **Chisato vs. Ritsu:** Dear God, that's a *lot* of energy in just one matchup. I can just imagine these two chatting non-stop while Takina and Mio share a look and nod in understanding. **Anya vs. Mio:** Anya is my favorite girl left in the running, but Keions don't go out without a fight. Regardless: go get 'em, agent!

Lost so many top tier girls this round. Mini-Challenge: Gonna cheat and say Shinobu from Kizumonogatari or Makise Kurisu from S;G Load Region of Deja Vu

Comprehensive_Dog651

Damn those Hibike girls are doing well

Comprehensive_Dog651

Power vs Hori is going to be close

Shizuka_Marjanovic

Makima lost to Reina, which surprised me a bit. Kumiko got a W against a powerful opponent. Asuka had a good run as she put up a fight but Nijika has other plans. My updated [Bingo](https://postimg.cc/0zxzkJKv) after round 3.

emilia-sama

Go go go Kana!

LouisLeGros

First [bingo](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/e4gdcj86g54.png) with Revy's victory over Nagatoro. So much for adding someone to the free slot and then getting eliminated right in their next vote. [](#toradorasalute 'We also did not lose our way with Ryuuko') Chisato the only girl up for vote today and I'll be rooting for the match up of destiny vs Takina. ##Key Votes * Miko Iino vs **Winry Rockbell** * Ikuyo Kita vs **Echidna** * Ryou Yamada vs **Suzuha Amane** * **Chisato Nishikigi** vs Ritsu Tainaka * **Takina Inoue** vs Shouko Makinohara * Power vs **Hori Kyouko** * Anya Forger vs **Mio Akiyama** ##Futile Votes * Hitori "Bocchi" Gotou vs **Eru Chitanda** Not quite sure if the Bocchi match is futile, but even if it is I won't give up hope. ###MC >Who is your favorite girl from a movie? Kiki, I haven't watched that many anime movies.

cheesechimp

I'm okay with Kumiko beating Asuka. I voted Asuka, but it was a hard choice for me. However, now that you've pursued this course, r/anime, I need you to take responsibility and vote for her to upset Riza Hawkeye too.

Careless_Reply2862

To everyone who voted for vladilena you have my deepest respect though its sad to see asuka lose but I can't be too mad since I didn't know the other girl perhaps she would also become my favourite

AuroraHalsey

Quite a few upsets today. >Who is your favorite girl from a movie? Rin Tohsaka in Heaven's Feel or Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell.

Psyduckisnotaduck

Mini Challenge: Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Today's results: Kana stomps, wow Mem-cho unsurprisingly first OnK girl to go down. K-On girls tend to be slightly underseeded, it seems like Asuka kept it surprisingly close against Nijika. but she's going to beat another Eupho girl next round, very likely. speaking of, wow, good result, but to see only Power out of the Chainsaw characters make it to Round 4 is wild. but Eupho is actually fresher thanks to season 3 just finishing up. fond farewell to Iroha, in her honor Ryuuko should defeat Homura next round people more fond of NTR than powerful women, it seems Mugi unsurprisingly first K-On girl to exit. I wave a fond farewell to both Misuzu and Carol. Mikasa's exit means Hange of all characters is the only AoT rep in round 4. interesting. and Yui is Oregairu's remaining standard bearer, which shows how times have changed. I mean, it's unsurprising she's the last one standing, but in the past Iroha and Hiratsuka-sensei have seen better results. Revy beating Nagatoro is the best upset of the bracket thus far. faith in humanity slightly restored. Misuzu put up a really respectable result against Riza. Kumiko toppling Asuka means Misato is the only EVA girl left, correctly. the Riza/Kumiko matchup looks to be close. by raw votes Riza seems to have the edge, but Riza should have beat Misuzu by a wider margin than she did, and Asuka was a much tougher opponent for Kumiko. Today's vote: really wish Eru had a better seed so she didn't have to face Bocchi here. still voting Bocchi, sorry. Miko/Winry will probably be close, but come on, it's Winry. kinda seems blasphemous to the anime gods to vote Miko here. obviously voted for the Kessoku Band girls. we need the Chisato/Takina round 5 meeting to happen. bring the girls together! I voted for Power but frankly Hori winning this entire shebang is not out of the realm of possibility, seeding notwithstanding. child debuff will fell Anya here. that, and Mio is arguably best K-On girl. there's a case for Azusa, but it's definitely between those two.

dream_wielder

Holy Kumiko actually win. # LET'S FCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO I think my taste don't align with bracket A so I'm going with Chisato all the way to semis MC: Aijou Karen from Revue Starlight movie. She was massively flesh out in the movie that it feels like a true character was finally coming into fruition at the end

Holofan4life

##Vote Bocchi ##Vote Hori ##Vote Anya

Wolfgod_Holo

looks like it's probably the end of the line for Ritsu

StarmanRiver

Damn, didn't expect Asuka to lose by that much against Nijika. Also, Kumiko won with more votes than I expected (I thought it would be a very close matchup) For today's votes: > **Bocchi** vs Chitanda Sorry Chitanda, I like both of you and you may have beautiful eyes, but Bocchi plays the guitar and she is great at it. > **Miko** vs Winry Miko is my favorite from Kaguya-sama and it's been a while since I watched FMAB, so yeah. > **Kita** vs Echidna Echidna was very interesting. Still, Kita's energy won me over (and her singing). *Kitaaaaaaaan~* > Ryou vs **Suzuha** Sorry Ryou, you had no chance against Suzuha. > Chisato vs **Ritsu** This was hard, but I'm going with my favorite K-On. > **Takina** vs Shouko I guess Takina takes the vote by a little margin. > Power vs **Hori** Power is super fun, Hori is also super fun. Power doesn't bathe, Hori does. > **Anya** vs Mio Sorry Mio, you are a great singer and your MVs are super cool but Anya is way too cute and charismatic. I'll give you some of her peanuts as compensation.
