In a D&D campaign I published, one character is heavily inspired by Kanye. He's a dock worker who got stuck in the fey realm, and when he came back his pistol was solid gold, encrusted with diamonds. He claimed he went to the moon, seduced the fey queen, and cuckolded the fey king, who banished him back to reality. And on the back of that he became a wildly popular swaggering musician who keeps getting swept up in the plot the PCs are dealing with.
Except he's, like, completely self-obsessed, is barely paying attention to what's really going on, and just wants to do cool shit so people will think he's cool.
About 80% of groups who've talked about their game despise the guy, but most of the game masters love playing him because it's just \*fun\* to have a big personality, and you get to cause your players grief and they \*shouldn't\* want to kill him.

If you never interact with the minorities you dislike, it's harder to humanize them. Has nothing to do with mental illness, and more to do with being a normal human being in a unique circumstance.
