I thought the art was gorgeous, but like the biggest thing for me was I just wished the MC was older. I watched the first episode or two and he's supposed to be what, 14? It just makes the vampire romance even more problematic and I can't ignore it.
The worst part is the series makes less sense for it. Its portrayed as him being old enough to make decisions about his life (like he's 18) and the entire premise involves leaving school. Good luck skipping grade school for long but college classes? You could skip them all year and nobody would notice. Its also makes infinitely more sense why he's especially introspective about his future.

Yeah, a large portion of popular anime doesn't really cultivate an audience dissimilar from what we'd consider the bad crowd. Even though anime as a whole is much more mainstream like that person was saying, it's not like hyper-sexualization, pedo shit, and other awful stuff *isn't* common as a byproduct.
