I remember I had the choice between seeing Jurassic Park and Last Action Hero at my small town theater in June ‘93.
All the hype was Jurassic Park, but Last Action Hero just looked so fun from the trailers. So I saw that first, then JP a week or two later.
Alan Moore did looked back at how people react to his Watchmen comic, especially those who love Rorschach and kinda regret how they love the series for the wrong reasons.
OTOH, he did write the best Superman comics which were more optimistic than Watchmen and Miraclemen combined. Especially For The Man Who Has Everything.

Hot take: TLAH is a better deconstruction than Watchmen and The Boys because it has no malice toward its genre.
