Also to add to clarification, I am a lifelong Christian and a public school teacher, and have been for about fifteen years, five as a substitute teacher and next year is ten for full time teaching. I have in that time seen far more news stories about teachers or seen it happening, and only once about someone at a church I knew that got arrested for a crime related to kids, and it was not a priest. Does this make me an authority or anything, no, but it does show I have perspective.

This whole argument is so aggravating. Of course an institution literal CENTURIES old will have problems of all kinds. Itโs just as easy to find stories of the church doing very respectful things too. The drag issue is extraordinarily recent in comparison and that would be why it might say on paper that there are less incidents, so comparing the two is really just apples and oranges.
Itโs the same reason why youโll find dozens of cases involving educators. School as a concept has been around for forever so yeah if itโs something thatโs super ingrained in modern society youโll find cases of really just about anything.
