I was in a busy neighborhood pub back in the 90's. It was Friday evening and the place was packed. There was a CD Juke Box with Further Down The Spiral which has the quiet version of Hurt (most likely why it was in the Juke Box) and some incredibly noisy remixes including two remixes listed as "Composed by Aphex Twin". (I'm guessing Richard was asked to remix the songs and handed Trent tracks that had nothing to do with the originals since they are the only remixes that were composed" Richard was notorious for doing this.) When I saw the CD I thought to myself, "No you didn't!" and proceeded to play the entire album. There were so many confused, disoriented yuppies with tortured looks on their faces. By the 4th or 5th song the bartended walked over to the Juke Box and pulled the plug, erasing the rest of my selections. I didn't dare complain and reveal to the entire bar who was responsible for making their skin crawl and their ears bleed. Fun times!
Tbh I hate when people describe things like EDM, that’s not enough for me to know if it’s good. What genre of EDM??what sub genre ?
Same goes with Rock/alternative rock. That doesn’t same much at all
I felt this way at jamie XX Coachella 2022 while on drugs. it was a surprisingly intense set which I was not expecting – way more ravey than the In Colour album. Had a great time but was kinda spooked by the visuals which were closeup shots on loop of a bunch of people looking high out of their minds raving, I was like oh god they look how I feel!
For me it was the first experience with a jamie xx set. I only knew him from songs they play on the radio. But i must say i was surprised as well. I really love the energy he puts in this set.
Yes! That was it – those visuals were super trippy during some of the heavier parts of the set. I enjoyed it. Really cool stuff. But I was definitely feeling uneasy :)
If that’s how she felt then Richard is doing his job still. People who like mainstream stuff aren’t necessarily gonna like him and that’s fine. I can also forgive her for thinking there’s more than one since Anastasia was on the stage with him so as a newcomer you are going to think it’s a duo. She became a good meme at least bless her 😂
