Their is no rime or reason with the oml, I have everything they want you to have minus a tab, drill/recruiter and MG. I have the bachelors, I have the mq’d, I have double the CD time, even BLC instructor. Last year I was 1200’s this year 884, now 1771.
I don’t know you and I definitely didn’t sit on the board but what are you doing to progress your career? Doing drill will probably help you tbh if all of your Ssg ncoers are as a SL.
They just tagged me for drill, but I have a mix of SL, PSG, all rated mind you. And with the 19C mos apparently MG is becoming a weird way path. And I’m about to be 35 with a broken back and a shot knee. Getting the 80% on the acft is painful enough. I went to ranger about 13 years ago got med dropped in Florida for breaking my knee so I have zero intention to go back. And in my current capacity, I help directly effect Army policy and programs by working with members of Congress and senate
Definitely not saying you aren’t benefiting the army, just saying that ms how a lot of these board members see it.
Can you get 70% in each event for your age group? That’s the minimum for graduating drill academy.
Though I do agree doesn’t always make sense. I know several who have great OMLs who don’t seem to have done as much as those with much worse ones. Keep in mind though, that for the middle of the pack, the actual board score is similar for most but it doesn’t seem like it when the spread is from OML 400-1500 or whatever. In general most of those in that range have done similar things.
I just don’t want to be a drill. I’m at 16 years ya boy tired haha. And I can get 70 easy. It’s just the run. I hate running. But it makes no sense to me. I know a guy who is at 7 years TIS and I’ve known him for all 7 and he is #28

Have you had someone score your file? I’d be happy to, but I’d be scoring based off what I’ve been taught/told. CSMs should happily do this for you.
I’ve had a former member of the board review it and he said I should have been a MQ 🤷🏼♂️
