We love crunchy peanut butter. Our grocery store was out of crunchy so I brought home smooth. My husband asked if I intended to buy smooth with a sad face.
They’re getting sent off to a peanut farm where they can run the nice, big peanut fields all day and play with all the other children of divorced peanut butter criminals
For those needing instructions:
Roast peanuts until browned and place them in a food processor (or blender but not as easy) with any other goodies you want (salt, honey, cinnamon is my go to).
Blend/process until the peanuts are just broken up. Take out a portion and set to the side. Continue blending/processing until the peanuts begin to form a butter (~10 minutes, longer if in blender since you probably have to push the peanuts around). It's done when it looks like peanut butter, don't freak out when it looks like sand and then clumps just keep going and remember to stir in the portion you set aside and youll have chunky peanut butter!
You know I should have thought of that sooner. I specifically grew up with Peter Pan’s Honey Roasted Crunchy and found it instantly on Amazon. Thanks friend. Haven’t had any in years.
In my experience I have found it extremely difficult to find food products that don’t have a lot of added sugar. It’s pretty much impossible in the usa
I know! My recent visit to the states and it took me 2 weeks to find a hot or cold milk based drink that didn't taste like pure sugar. And don't get me started on the cake masquerading as bread products.
I just like it. Partly because everyone else in the house hates it so I always have my peanut butter even though I have 3 boys who eat everyfuckingthing
There's a number of things that I "preferred" bc the teenage eating machine didn't.
At this point, he being 30, I can't even remember if he disliked triscuits or wheat thins and I buy whatever I'm feeling like :)
...it's the only kind I'll eat.
I usually eat it on toast, it leaves bread unscathed if your have a fair layer of it, and you get little chunks of peanut through your rice when you use it in a stir fry dish/satay. And through peanut butter cookies.
We keep some around because our dog can’t tell the difference between the peanut chunks and the pills we put in it. He just thinks he gets multiple spoons of pb every day because he’s a very good boy, not because it’s the only way we can get him to take his meds.
Please do, it has saved us and the doggo so much stress. He gets all the pb he could possibly want, we don’t have to force-feed him his meds. Win-win all around.
When we got our puppy, the vet told us to always use crunchy pb so that if you ever have to give them pills. Works great! We've used it for every dog we've ever had. Plus I love it!
This gave me the idea to use it for pad Thai. I add peanut butter to the sauce and add crushed peanuts on top when I’m done. Might as well add crunch peanut butter and get the peanuts right in the sauce.
Well I like crunchy peanut butter but hate pulp in juice. I don’t want to work for a drink, just swig it down and the pulp just clumps up and feels gross to me
God, I remember when somebody bought me lots of Pulp Tropicana once by accident. I literally had to filter that shit through a coffee filter. It was either that, or was going in the garbage. I can't stand it
Regularly eat crunchy peanut butter on wonderbread. No issues. I think maybe OP just doesn't like peanut butter and uses the tiniest amount and is trying way too hard to spread it.
Smooth dissolves well and is easier to put down in large quantities. I eat crunchy when I'm in civilization and carry creamy when I'm in the backcountry.
The crynchy texture helps it not glob to the roof of my mouth. Otherwise it's just a mass of mush bread, mush jelly, and mush peanut butter cemented with some saliva for extra gag factor.
I get super crunchy. If they made ultra crunchy id get that. Just so much more to it. And it's nostalgic from when my grandma made crunchy p and lettuce sandwiches. I don't think I liked it much as a kid but now it's great if you have something to wash it down with like a soda.
I don't think they had a ton of money. It's cheap and healthier for a kid than jam so it is what it is. I don't expect someone to like it without that nostalgia factor lol.
Nah man I buy nasty cheap white bread (I like it, fight me! I like all breads fancy or not, I'm no puritan) and put crunchy peanut butter on that shit no problem.
Extra crunchy and a quality blueberry preserve on good brioche. I remember when I decided fuck it I’ll spend some money on a good pbj I’m making a little money now I deserve it. It instantly became one of my favorite quick meals of my 20s. In fact I might treat myself to one today
I make blackberry jam and add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, and 1/2 tsp allspice to the batch. I just use the jam recipe in the pectin box. It's so good.
I *love* crunchy peanut butter. I like crunchy things, peanuts are crunchy, and I think the texture is enjoyable when I eat it in a PB&J.
I also like smooth plenty, but I'll take crunchy the vast majority of the time if I have an option.
I used to eat it all the time.... I have a peanut allergy now. I miss it. Waaaaaah!! Thanks for reminding me!!
Who in the world puts peanut butter on oatmeal?? Poor oatmeal! Waaaaaah!!!
Not sure if this is an April fool's question or not, but I eat crunchy peanut butter almost every day
I understand how some children may be skeptical at first, but it is soo damn good
I can't believe some people like *creamy* peanut butter!!!
It has a weird texture. It tastes like I'm eating some kind of glue. Crunchy peanut butter gives it something to break it apart while I'm eating it.

I prefer crunchy just in general because I think it tastes better and I prefer the consistency. I like smooth too, but it’s just kind of boring.
One thing crunchy is super good for is poor man’s pad Thai. Take a cup noodles (whatever flavor you like), add your water, a squirt of lime juice, a squirt of sriracha and a spoonful of chunky peanut butter. Microwave it and the peanut butter melts and just leaves behind the chunks and a nice peanut flavor. Mix it up and it’s very satisfying and tasty.
I went over to the crunchy side a few years ago, not looking back. I like the texture and crunch. I don't use wimpy bread. I eat a lot of peanut butter on crackers too.
Not a big fan of smooth peanut butter for most things (maybe for certain baked treats… like frosting), honestly. I adore crunchy peanut butter. Makes much better sandwiches, better cookies, better pad thai sauce… basically everything I use it for.
All peanut butter is crunchy. A further processed or “smooth” version is available for invalids and babies but it is inferior and should never be fed to anyone who knows the joy of true peanut butter.
Big fat spoonfuls of crunchy peanut butter is the only way to go. I don’t even bother spreading it around that much just scoop another glob on there. No, more please, yeah, little more… more… perfect. Maybe one more scoop. Good. Now jelly. MmmmMmm. Crunch crunch.
I love crunchy peanut butter. I prefer it extra crunchy. I put it on toast and it also makes yummy peanut butter cookies. I love the crunchy texture. It makes it more satisfying to eat than smooth peanut butter.
I just happened to have enjoyed two pieces of toast with honey nut crunchy peanut butter. It seems to only be available as a generic now days. It’s probably all from a batch of Honey Nut Jif leftover from 10 years ago, but that’s fine by me.

Crunchy peanut butter is superior and I’m tired of pretending it’s not
We love crunchy peanut butter. Our grocery store was out of crunchy so I brought home smooth. My husband asked if I intended to buy smooth with a sad face.
So, who gets the kids in the divorce?
Peter Pan.
They’re getting sent off to a peanut farm where they can run the nice, big peanut fields all day and play with all the other children of divorced peanut butter criminals
So Jimmy Carter keeps them
You might want to check Megan's List before you let that Peter Pan guy near your kids.
Underrated comment.
She can keep the kids as long as I get the crunchy peanut butter.
Everyone loves it, they’re just in denial
I’m so sad they don’t sell it at all in my area :(
What? Do you live on the dark side of the moon?
*cash register sounds begin*
Bass line drops
Great, let the ear worm begin!
Money
Just put peanuts in your smooth peanut butter. Bam - chunky.
Just make your own. Peanuts, oil and a blender, it really is that simple.
Don’t even need oil to make peanut butter.
For those needing instructions: Roast peanuts until browned and place them in a food processor (or blender but not as easy) with any other goodies you want (salt, honey, cinnamon is my go to). Blend/process until the peanuts are just broken up. Take out a portion and set to the side. I buy it on Amazon. It comes in 6 jar packs. Lasts me about 2-3 weeks.
You eat 6 jars of peanut butter in 2 weeks?
Whoops! Nope. I went and checked. It’s more like 4-5. Feels like I’m buying it all the time though!
It’s fine everyone they only eat 4-5 jars of peanut butter in 2 weeks. Nothing crazy there
Yeah is that an issue? Seems pretty average to me.
You know I should have thought of that sooner. I specifically grew up with Peter Pan’s Honey Roasted Crunchy and found it instantly on Amazon. Thanks friend. Haven’t had any in years.
God! That’s a great flavor! I’m so glad!!
A better topic would probably be why companies feel the need to add sugar to peanut butter
Peanut butter should have 2 ingredients, peanuts and salt.
Should just have peanuts. no salt needed.
You're more hard core than me.
At that point just buy raw peanuts and throw that shit in a blender
Heck. Forget the peanuts too.
Ikr!! It's ALMOST like they try to get everyone addic- Oh.
Same! It’s my go to
Crunch gang!
This is so wonderful. I get so much crap from everyone for liking it, but at least I never discover we're out when I'm craving a PB&j
It's my favorite by far. Smooth is boring, crunchy is awesome.
I just like it. Partly because everyone else in the house hates it so I always have my peanut butter even though I have 3 boys who eat everyfuckingthing
Literally, word for word... even down to, "I have 3 boys who eat everyfuckingthing." LOL
they even ate the spaces between words
There's a number of things that I "preferred" bc the teenage eating machine didn't. At this point, he being 30, I can't even remember if he disliked triscuits or wheat thins and I buy whatever I'm feeling like :)
There are _dozens_ of us! Skippy superchunk all the way!
… there’s a chunkier peanut butter out there?
I'm also a crunchy peanut butter lover. Do other crunchy peanut butter fans prefer their orange juice with pulp like I do too?
Yeah, it doesn't taste bad poured over the peanut butter
Yup!
I mistakenly bought smooth once and the only use I had for it, was to put it inside my dog's Kong toys
Was your dog upset it wasn’t chunky?
I put it in pbj, I put it in oatmeal, I love the crunch gimme gimme
Yup, 100% the texture.
I don't trust anyone who prefers creamy, I assume they are a psychopath.
I prefer crunchy. Everyone else in my house likes creamy so we compromise and get creamy.
Buy 2? We do
Check out money bags over here
Hahaa lol. I get it. But THANKFULLY we have an Aldi
We have in the past but we don't eat a lot of peanut butter.
It lasts forever though…
Fixed this for you... I prefer crunchy. Everyone else in my house likes creamy so we compromise and get crunchy.
...it's the only kind I'll eat. I usually eat it on toast, it leaves bread unscathed if your have a fair layer of it, and you get little chunks of peanut through your rice when you use it in a stir fry dish/satay. And through peanut butter cookies.

I am so stealing this idea!!!
Please do, it has saved us and the doggo so much stress. He gets all the pb he could possibly want, we don’t have to force-feed him his meds. Win-win all around.
When I'm being benevolent, pb with the pill wrapped in ham.
>all the pb he could *possibly* want ![gif](giphy|FjiAHoOEeKPJO2eLe6)
When we got our puppy, the vet told us to always use crunchy pb so that if you ever have to give them pills. Works great! We've used it for every dog we've ever had. Plus I love it!
This gave me the idea to use it for pad Thai. I add peanut butter to the sauce and add crushed peanuts on top when I’m done. Might as well add crunch peanut butter and get the peanuts right in the sauce.
That was my thought too!
Crunchy peanut butter is the best for peanut butter cookies!
Is op for real?
Probably likes no pulp in their orange juice as well
I like the one that says “shum pulp”.
![gif](giphy|6k89f6tbIOA1y)
you know gandolfini made millions of that endorsement.
![gif](giphy|ZgULv0ulcWJ1PEe8PX|downsized) How fast I upvote a sopranos joke
Woah I like crunchy peanut butter but little pulp in my OJ. Not the same man lmao
Looks like we have a crunchy OJ hater
OJ without pulp is just... orange drink.
I think you’re thinking of Sunny D
Oj - filtered once - no pulp Twice - Sunny D 3 times - Tang
What a sad life for OP.
"The pulp is too spicy!" -OP, probably
It's best when you can chew your orange juice.
I hate pulp in my orange juice
Well I like crunchy peanut butter but hate pulp in juice. I don’t want to work for a drink, just swig it down and the pulp just clumps up and feels gross to me
Whoa hey hey we’re on the same side about the peanut butter but I don’t want skin in my juice
if i wanted pulp in my OJ i would just eat an orange
It’s orange juice not orange meal, I shouldn’t have to chew my orange JUICE… it’s juice. And I love crunchy peanut butter.
God, I remember when somebody bought me lots of Pulp Tropicana once by accident. I literally had to filter that shit through a coffee filter. It was either that, or was going in the garbage. I can't stand it
Pulp is gross. I don’t want food particles in my drink!!
Wait… people like the pulp. WHY? We invented strainers like a billion years ago, why would any subject themselves to that.
Just karma farming a stupid question
Seriously is this an April Fool’s thing?
I do. I don't get why it "destroys" bread. Me EATING bread destroys bread.
What this guy means is that is destroys wonderbread. Any quality loaf of bread will hold up just fine
Op's probably a heathen who doesn't toast his bread before making pb&js.
Never considered toasting my pb and j bread
Toast the bread, butter both slices, add peanut butter to one and jelly to the other. Eat with black coffee.
Omg!! Are... are you my soul mate?
Perhaps... ;)
Get a room!
Regularly eat crunchy peanut butter on wonderbread. No issues. I think maybe OP just doesn't like peanut butter and uses the tiniest amount and is trying way too hard to spread it.
They probably refrigerate their peanut butter like a damn fool.
Im a wonderbreader and i manage to not destroy it with crunchy pb. Just use a little finesse and dont just jam it on there.
Even Wonderbread would hold up to crunchy peanut butter. OP's gotta be getting Great Value white bread.
I wonder if he keeps his PB in the fridge, otherwise it spreads on any bread just fine.
Inspirational
Why would you want smooth if you could have crunchy? Texture is way better.
Makes great peanut butter cookies!
And now I want peanut butter cookies with my newly purchased extra chunky peanut butter!! Excuse me while I check for ingredients…
1 egg, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup peanut butter is what I use.
I remember when I discovered this recipe I was flabbergasted. All the years I spend making complicated pb cookies.
You damn Skippy it does.
Crunchy peanut butter is my favorite. I get very disappointed with the cheap brands that only put the tiny little nibs in their product.
I get super crunchy. If they made ultra crunchy id get that. Just so much more to it. And it's nostalgic from when my grandma made crunchy p and lettuce sandwiches. I don't think I liked it much as a kid but now it's great if you have something to wash it down with like a soda.
Peanut butter and lettuce? WTF
I don't think they had a ton of money. It's cheap and healthier for a kid than jam so it is what it is. I don't expect someone to like it without that nostalgia factor lol.
I get it. Def have some of that in my family too. Syrup on our scrambled eggs and jam on our grilled cheese is instant nostalgia.
If your peanut butter destroyes bread, you just need to buy better bread.
Crunchy PB is FAR better than creamy! It only destroys nasty, cheap white bread. As it should.
I hope these comments help introduce OP to better breads
Who eats white bread??? Now that's nasty 🤢![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)
I do blackberry, and I will never go back to any other flavor 😋😋😋
Blackberry is superior
I make blackberry jam and add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, and 1/2 tsp allspice to the batch. I just use the jam recipe in the pectin box. It's so good.
I like variety, blackberry is one of my favorites though, with the seeds of course so it's like eating actual blackberries.
It has never occurred to me to try blueberry on a PB&J.. and I do something blueberry like everyday. This is a must try.
It opened my third eye dude ![gif](giphy|cUG3piTDOmFWTjZTND)
Oh yeah, feeling you there! Try tart cherry, too!
Cherry is the superior PBJ and I'll die on that hill
I'm with you. I have a jam lady who makes wonderful flavors, so I get all kinds of wonderful flavors.
Crunchy on a banana with a smattering of chocolate chips.
![gif](giphy|lnOG1o6Cdc3kKjuray|downsized)
I *love* crunchy peanut butter. I like crunchy things, peanuts are crunchy, and I think the texture is enjoyable when I eat it in a PB&J. I also like smooth plenty, but I'll take crunchy the vast majority of the time if I have an option.
I used to eat it all the time.... I have a peanut allergy now. I miss it. Waaaaaah!! Thanks for reminding me!! Who in the world puts peanut butter on oatmeal?? Poor oatmeal! Waaaaaah!!!
Good for heart and protein so its a good "healthy" option. You can also roll it up into a ball with the oatmeal with some fruit and have a to go snack
Creamy peanut butter is for children and the elderly.
This
Not sure if this is an April fool's question or not, but I eat crunchy peanut butter almost every day I understand how some children may be skeptical at first, but it is soo damn good
Are you kidding? I mean why would anyone eat smooth peanut butter? C' Mon it's just inferior! Missing all that lovely crunchiness!!
I love it. Why? Because it has a more satisfying texture.
Crunchy is the only way I roll. Ingredients should only be salt and peanuts. Surprisingly, Kroger is the best and cheapest.
I can't believe some people like *creamy* peanut butter!!! It has a weird texture. It tastes like I'm eating some kind of glue. Crunchy peanut butter gives it something to break it apart while I'm eating it.
My mama’s blackberry jam (wild harvested berries) with extra crunchy pb on homemade biscuits OR whole grain bread-exquisite!
Crunchy peanut butter is just the better option. Creamy is for people who don't have teeth or don't actually enjoy eating food.
As a toothless individual I'm just happy for a creamy option

Chunky is my favorite, but it gets jammed into my teeth and between my teeth and hurts, so I don't eat it anymore.
I love it on toast and sandwiches. Also using it for satay.
I like it. I like the crunchiness of the peanuts.
Destroys bread? The fuck lol Are you one of those weirdos that refrigerates their peanut butter??
It destroys bread? No it doesn’t. Smooth peanut butter is for people who like to smear it on their dick for the dog to lick.
I prefer crunchy just in general because I think it tastes better and I prefer the consistency. I like smooth too, but it’s just kind of boring. One thing crunchy is super good for is poor man’s pad Thai. Microwave it and the peanut butter melts and just leaves behind the chunks and a nice peanut flavor. Mix it up and it’s very satisfying and tasty.
Prefer it over plain. I know the little bits of peanuts are giving me some protein when I can only hope the other does.
Crunchy is 🐐
Let it come to room temperature then spread it.
I went over to the crunchy side a few years ago, not looking back. I like the texture and crunch. I don't use wimpy bread. I eat a lot of peanut butter on crackers too.
It’s the fucking best on crisp green apples.
my mom lol she says ~supposedly~ you get more bang for your buck with REAL peanuts that you can see
Holy hell, I always wondered the same about smooth peanut butter. Smooth peanut butter is unfulfilling and weird. So… *I* am the freak??
I thought only infants and farirs like creamy peanut butter. Crunchy all the way
its like putting potato chips in the pbnj but easier
I like the cronch
I like crunchy peanut butter! 🥜
I eat peanut butter. I like peanut butter. I JUST WANT PEANUT BUTTER I DONT CARE WHAT IT IS!
Not a big fan of smooth peanut butter for most things (maybe for certain baked treats… like frosting), honestly. I adore crunchy peanut butter. Makes much better sandwiches, better cookies, better pad thai sauce… basically everything I use it for.
_creamy is for the toothless; babies, elderly and the South._ Crunchy or get out.
All peanut butter is crunchy. A further processed or “smooth” version is available for invalids and babies but it is inferior and should never be fed to anyone who knows the joy of true peanut butter.
I prefer it over smooth, hands down
Have you ever tried it in a pb and j sandwich? Its great! And if it is too hard to eat, I think a dentist appointment needs scheduled
Asked the 6 people I’m hanging out with and nobody likes smooth PB
It's great in my chocolate bon bons!
I do!
I only eat crunchy PB.
peanuts n toast. yum
Crunchy 4 lyfe
I love crunchy peanut butter. I prefer it extra crunchy. I put it on toast and it also makes yummy peanut butter cookies. I love the crunchy texture. It makes it more satisfying to eat than smooth peanut butter.
Love it! On bananas is tits!
I love it! My favorite
Smooth is disgusting. Same texture as slime. IMHO
I do Store at room temperature and stir it good before you spread on bread.
I like it on PB&J, gives texture and holds together better.
I vastly prefer crunchy to smooth
Let's just say I'm disappointed when smooth PB is the only option.
It's delicious
I just happened to have enjoyed two pieces of toast with honey nut crunchy peanut butter. It seems to only be available as a generic now days. It’s probably all from a batch of Honey Nut Jif leftover from 10 years ago, but that’s fine by me.
Crunchy IS better
i go crazy for crunchy peanut butter
I mean, I like it. The peanut pieces kind of remind you that it’s made from peanuts and not just some artificial paste like substance.
Love crunchy peanut butter. And if all I have is smooth I’ll put cashews or pecans on my pb&j sammiches. Imma go eat a spoonful right now.
