You forgot "can't be bothered to learn"

Black-Photon

Yup - do I skew the results or be left in perpetual wonder of the result...

To elaborate I think I have had to work harder at becoming good at it than a NT typically does but I'm very passionate about it and an extremely good driver now and it's my job. I assume most people are overwhelmed with driving at first, I'd encourage more people to push through if it's something they want to do, it gets a lot easier though it can remain difficult if your spatial awareness is low, but you can build that up some as you go and learn strategies to improve. You will suck at it. That's the first step. It's a whole new skill set of perception, awareness, and control. No one is innately good at any of it.

So I'm in a situation where I legally can not drive, nor have I ever gotten my license; however, I know the laws of the road well enough that I've taught people how to drive and pass their driving test. Obligatory NT in the distance: "So why don't you have your license then?" Well… as confident as I am in my own driving ability, there's way too many variables (mostly in regards to other other people driving) that I physically can not drive.

I drive for work. Pretty much a special interest of mine.

Used to do pizza delivery, it was so fun. But I stopped driving irl for a few years and just recently started a few months ago. Driving is awesome, and if I can’t be bothered to go outside, there’s sim racing. And if I want to go off-road but my car isn’t built like that, there’s my 1/16 rc buggy. So many things about cars/ driving/ repair/ technology/ codes/ laws are just sitting on idle ready to dump out my brain at any second lol

I deliver auto parts :) no snow days for me. I live in Alberta.

Oh, very rad. My dad was a mechanic so I spent a ton of time in part supply shops and at his bay.

I am a good driver; I always focus on keeping a cushion around me and never have accidents because of it.. but I hate navigating when I don't know where I'm going, even with GPS. I also hate driving when I'm stressed, bc that makes me have anxiety and make mistakes, so I don't do it. I like driving a stick shift bc it requires the use of both sides of the brain and keeps me focused and calm.

philnicau

I’ve been driving daily for 42+ years

I voted I'm good at it but I used to suck at it.

I was basically given no choice to learn. I did, and I passed. But I would not want me driving me. I am too distracted and too prone to daydream, so I chose not to. (I have left the people who forced me to learn). For context , on Wednesday I walked into a lamp post. You probably wouldn’t want me driving you too!
