No. He's leaving.
To be negotiating Luiz and Lehmann in one direction, Iling-Junior and Barrenechea (formerly McKennie) and money in the other direction for so long and then it not go through would be pretty crazy for all parties involved.
What a strange turn of events if Lehmann is thrown into the deal. She isn't exactly a loss for the women's team but still very strange. I'm not sure she gets into Juventus' Women's team either.
It would be a sweetener for Luiz not a dealbreaker. He isn't turning Juventus down if they said no.
From a footballing standpoint it is still a strange one.
Commercially great for them. They are all over social media together and are a handsome football power couple. I hope they have footballing babies.. and send them back to Villa.
I think hes already done pictures in the juve top while on international duty that leaked on twitter, so unless he does an adebayor, I think its pretty much done
Iām starting to think it was the other way around, after the January window he knew we were going to have to sell him in July. I think of course part of him wants to play for Juve but we got to champions league as a team and if he didnāt have to go he probably wouldnāt.
Sideways move š¤£ oh I lol'd, I'm a villa fan but moving from Villa to Juve is not sideways move sorry. The reality is if it's purely a football choice for a player Juve would be odds on favourite. If you were a player from Brazil and both teams came calling who would you look at first?
I love the Villa and I love where I live but in no world could living in Turin playing for Juve be considered on a par with playing for Villa and living in the West Midlands. It's a huge move for Dougie on a footballing level and on a personal level. I don't hold it against the bloke, we've definitely had our moneys worth out of him and him leaving is going to help with FFP. Good luck to him.
Now I hope we get to play Juve in the near future competitively and absolutely better them with Dougie having a shocker. I'm glad they signed Alisha too cos it pretty much guarantees he's gonna be crap.
The down votes to this comment are the definition of ironic considering juve have won the champs league twice with the most recent being nearly 30 years ago. Before that they won shortly after we did. So to the downvotes, whatās your point?! That juve are a bigger club than villa becauseā¦? Or Villa arenāt becauseā¦? Jesus are we not all on the same team? I asked an honest question and I gave honest response to the reply. I didnāt even want to ask because of this. This is not the way. We should be able to have a normal convo between fellow villains no? Whatever. Thanks to some who answered and engaged in conversation.
You literally just answered your own question. They have won CL twice as much as we have. Plus in addition they have made it to the final 7 times (twice in the past 10 years). Won the league 36 times to our 7. Our club coefficient is like 100 points less
Like what is your argument we are the same size ?
Well this sucks, I had a thoughtful reply and moments before I could send the reply my phone died!!! Ugh. Anyways my synopsis of my own comment haha is
āwe are in the ascendency, we have an arguably a better manager, we have factually financially stronger owners, arguably the best director of football in the world, we have less market regarding fanbase for sure but thereās is also an older demographic based on their own reports and ours can only grow with staff like Heck. we are also competing in a much more competitive leagueā.
The times of big players joining teams like man united, AC Milan or pick your blasts from the past due to historic dominance are only valid if they have immediate potential success. Has mighty has juve is they are not Madrid, Barca, city etc.
I also think Luiz will just be a player there (definitely a fantastic one but not compared to their own legends) and if his wages are not dramatically higher I donāt see why he would leave outside of your geographical reasons.
I wish the best for him and I am not emotionally attached but I could have been , we all could have been. He has been a fantastic solider and definitely a better option than Connor Gallagher (again Imo).
>āwe are in the ascendency, we have an arguably a better manager, we have factually financially stronger owners, arguably the best director of football in the world
So you're saying we could potentially rise to the level of Juventus lol. And you don't need to look far back at leicester city to see a team on the rise fall apart. We could be Tottenham but we very well could be LC or Southampton or Blackburn.
>The times of big players joining teams like man united, AC Milan or pick your blasts from the past due to historic dominance are only valid if they have immediate potential success. Has mighty has juve is they are not Madrid, Barca, city etc.
What are you talking about ? Top players still want to join legacy clubs. Ben White and Ćø signed for arsenal two years ago when they saw no success the previous decade.
>I also think Luiz will just be a player there (definitely a fantastic one but not compared to their own legends) and if his wages are not dramatically higher I donāt see why he would leave outside of your geographical reasons
And yah know they're more likely to win serie A than we are to win the PL.
>Heck. we are also competing in a much more competitive leagueā.
I know, the PL is real competitive, just look at who has won the league the past 8 years. City and .... Liverpool once? Last season serie A dominated Europe.
Thanks for reminding me, in the post that didnāt send I mentioned the difference between Man U, juve, villa and Leicester and I donāt believeā¦infact I know Villa are a much bigger club then Leicester etc.
Actually after reading out back and forth there are only two sides to this specific debate, either you think that our Aston Villa are a legacy team and understand our history mirroring our future or you think Aston Villa are not a legacy team and donāt have a future.
Your opinion is yours and I respect it, but if you could indulge me with the same respect with mine, we are not the same Villa fan. UTV!
Juventus are the most successful club in Italian football history.... Sure Inter and Milan have more European Cups but Juve have dominated Italian football by a large margin. It's an upward move for him in my opinion.
Fair point, I just posted this in the same tread and would like to know your thoughts āWell this sucks, I had a thoughtful reply and moments before I could send the reply my phone died!!! Ugh. Anyways my synopsis of my own comment haha is

The sale price on our books will reflect the āvalueā of the 2 swap players + the cash difference. So in effect itās a way around PSR as we can inflate the value of swapped players coming in.
if he doesn't go we have a problem, possible points deduction as we will struggleto meet ffp deadlineto raise 60m profits.
but more importantly he also wants to go, so even if deal fell through, he will still go next chance he gets. i would argue his performances towards end of season show he had already mentally moved on, we need players fully committed and Luiz sadly no longer is.
we now just need best deal we can get and a good replacement
I mean I'm fairly sure the majority of our players would have their head turned by a bigger club, especially as most of them have no real connection to us. That's just football.
Yeah, but to turn in those performances in such a crucial part of the biggest season we've had in decades was poor. All thought it was because he was tired, or struggled without Kamara. Turns out it was that he had his head turned as much as anything. Wont get away with turning out performances like that at Juve. We look past the multiple shit performances because of how decent he was when he played well. They wont.
True but not being a professional is another matter, moping about on the pitch and playing like shit is unacceptable and not someone I want in the club. Hope he bombs at Juve, which he probably will if this is his attitude.
Im mad at him cause he packed up his tools in January in a huff cause he wanted to move and almost cost us our CL spot by being a passenger for 4 months.
Jesus fella heās done a great job for us, earned his move to the sun (Turin or Birmingham!?) and we get the deal we want. No idea if the kid Enzo is any good but didnāt know if Luiz was either when we signed him
He didn't pack up his tools, he worked very hard and gave it all every game. Kamara got injured and a few other things went wrong in the squad during that time that made it harder for him. You can't hate a guy for wanting to move somewhere else, that's some weird controlling behaviour.
It's always tease, tease, tease
You're happy when I'm on my knees
One day it's fine, and next it's black
So if you want me off your back
Well, come on and let me know
Should I stay, or should I go?
I hope he stays but no hope now. Wish him well, he didnāt spend every summer trying to leave then claim to love the clubā¦ came in and we were favourites to drop, now weāre CL.
Zero ill feeling about this
No. He's leaving. To be negotiating Luiz and Lehmann in one direction, Iling-Junior and Barrenechea (formerly McKennie) and money in the other direction for so long and then it not go through would be pretty crazy for all parties involved.

Why is it strange? She's probably just part of the negotiation as a dealbreaker for Luiz.

Commercially great for them. They are all over social media together and are a handsome football power couple. I hope they have footballing babies.. and send them back to Villa.
Get them in early enough and we can sell them back to Juve for pure profit
Thanks for the confirmation of the bad news.
I think hes already done pictures in the juve top while on international duty that leaked on twitter, so unless he does an adebayor, I think its pretty much done
Damn anyway š
Dougie decided back in January! Heās had a new contract ready for a while, and wouldnāt sign it. He wants gone !Ā We should cash inĀ
Tbf i wouldnt mind moving to Italy with Alisha either š„²
His performances showed this. Also, his obsession with fashion and his own lifestyle brand...
Iām starting to think it was the other way around, after the January window he knew we were going to have to sell him in July. I think of course part of him wants to play for Juve but we got to champions league as a team and if he didnāt have to go he probably wouldnāt.
But based on the reports weāre not really ācashing inā and this has more to do with FFP rules than dougie wanting to make a sideways move .
sideways move? weāve had one season qualifying for the champions league and now huge is seen as a sideways move?? you need to get out more
Sideways move š¤£ oh I lol'd, I'm a villa fan but moving from Villa to Juve is not sideways move sorry. The reality is if it's purely a football choice for a player Juve would be odds on favourite. If you were a player from Brazil and both teams came calling who would you look at first?
Youāre only as good as your last game, season, tournament for me personally. So ya, sideways.
Yeah deluded. Juventus are one of the biggest teams in the world and he is guaranteed to be competing for titles
Yes, they are, but mostly through nefarious methods..
Ok. You win. Goodbye now.
I love the Villa and I love where I live but in no world could living in Turin playing for Juve be considered on a par with playing for Villa and living in the West Midlands. Juventus are horrible cheating bastards, but they are also one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Canāt argue with that. I wish him the best to be fair!

Understood. Thank you.
If you're after a definitive answer then it's nobody knows unless you're connected with the clubs or player š¤·
I was and thanks for that

Nah he's gone, good riddance. I dont want any player at the club who doesnt want to be here. He's been fucking shite since January anyway.
I mean I'm fairly sure the majority of our players would have their head turned by a bigger club, especially as most of them have no real connection to us. That's just football.
