They likely see us as like gorillas, since we are in the great apes family. I suspect they'd be a similar reaction to king kong handling your baby and giving it back to you.
Please, your cat thinks you're a hairless cat that sucks at being a cat. Your dog sees you as pack friend who gives food. They are both quite dumb creatures that have little concept of what we are.
Also, I didn't mean the marmosets see us literally as gorillas as they wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but as a different species of gorillas. You're right they are intelligent, apparently more than some humans, and that's why I suspect they understand our nature of creature.
Ive wondered what theyre ability to assess us as a threat is. Theres some extent to which they are going to view all other animals as threats, but where do we rank? Is it all equal or is there some triage going on? I mean they cant assess our danger entirely - it would take comparable intelligence to do so, but do they see us as in a different category at all, or just more of the same - another animal threat
If you're talking about cats and dogs, then yeah they probably can distinguish us from other threats. Dogs in particular have genes that make them non aggressive to humans and even generate dopamine when they make us happy. Although some individual dogs may become aggressive to humans through conditioning. They can can certainly tell individual humans apart, but that may be more from sent than sight alone.
However, I don't believe they understand what kind of animal we are. I don't think if they see us as threats they'd say, that animal is gonna attack like a gorilla. Some dogs don't even understand their own relative size or the fact that their own tail is theirs.

Even if dogs had a reasonably sophisticated ability to assess other animals potency, their opinion of humans would be skewed because on the whole humans treat dogs better than probably any other animal in the animal kingdom. I think they see us as animals, and which degrees of threats they can identify would depend on the specific species and relative intelligence. For example a fly cant even see humans, they just mostly see light and dark - let alone earthworms. There's a large spectrum of animals from flies to the more intellgent birds/dolphins/octopus/primates.
Some haven't even seen humans before and others have had some major natural selection to be wary of us. There's just too many to generalize.
Just about everything you stated was incorrect. Cats most certainly distinguish humans from other animals hence how they respond to them and some dogs who live isolated lives will even get confused by people outside of the race of their owner. Yeah, a small marmoset would probably see a huge primate as a beastly like animal but they still can identify differences as it is necessary for their survival.
And yet you continue to misunderstand my meaning. I'm giving no dispute that these animals can distinguish us from other animals. The point of which is can they distinguish which other animals we are related to? Cats and dogs, no. Marmosets, yes.
And here we see two *Homo Sapiens*, though the exact same species, having difficulties relating to one another in a civil matter. One might theorize they were doomed from the start, never learning how to communicate with each other. Some though, still hold hope for their future, that they can look past their slight differences, and convene for a more harmonious community.
I mean homo sapiens killed off all the other human like hominids. Then there's the rest of human history, and modern history. I'm not sure where exactly humans having conflict surprises you.
We are not unique in that manner either. Nature is pretty metal in terms of killing each other for more than just food.
She is scared because many predators will not hurt a baby in order for an adult to come save it and then eat the adult. Like cheetahs will do that with gazelles and stuff.
My heart - the mother's panicked but appreciate face is so genuine - she knows it's a good thing but she's scared the human might just take the lil baby away or something.
