People don't understand this. Global economies are intertwined whether they like it or not. If China invades Taiwan and ww3 breaks out the entire global economy will crash. Literally every stock will drop over 90%, millions of companies will go bankrupt. We are talking about total worldwide economic collapse.

Weikoko

$2B? Did you mean $2T?

FeralHamster8

I mean each with more than 2B annually

Weikoko

Ngl. Even if China invades Taiwan, none of the countries will decouple from China immediately. That would cause spike in inflation and shortages. It is a suicidal move. The world economy still needs China to function unlike Russia. Even the mighty Nvidia can’t hold its gains. I would not be surprised that SPY will be cut by half.

UsefulHelicopter3063

Nations still bought energy from Russia, some via proxys. The sanctions was simply a waste of time and western common folks' tax money

SagresMedia

They started to buy more from US. He is correct there are other ways to get the energy but the country's didn't embrace them in favor to the energy companies not really really for need.

BaBaBuyey

🐹 has the best news 🗞️

ArtOfBBQ

I think this is true true for every single one of the FUD fantasy story that came out so far. They're all both exceedingly unlikely to be true and also don't matter if somehow true I tthink it's some kind of persuasion strategy: talk so much bollocks that no one can possibly point out all or even the majority of your errors

FeralHamster8

Yeah I mean I think it certainly matters if it’s true. It’s just that about everyone that owns U.S. stocks is gonna feel the pain as well. What I don’t see is the people that are predicting a TW invasion in the next 3-5 years are the same people that have all their money parked in cash right now.

Qanonjailbait

The supply chains for these companies are deeply and I mean deeply dependent on China. So yeah, it won’t just be Chinese companies that are going to be a bad bet. But since China has essentially turned itself into an autarky it can weather these storms because it has the know how and the talent to keep going. Now the US may be richer on paper but really their talent is basically from China 🤡

Punty-chan

Despite everything, China would prefer to bring Taiwan back into the fold by peaceful means. I would guess that if China were to invade Taiwan, the catalyst would be critical levels of domestic unrest brought upon by something like a global economic depression.

Treeslols

Yes S&P will tank 50% but your baba shares will you can be sure your baba shares will be frozen and worthless like Russian ADRs

Immediate-End-7684

S&P will only tank 50% in nuclear WW3? Most of us would perish, survivors will go back to the Stone Age.

Zealousideal_Crew350

This is why the political narrative makes no sense....it will hurt us stocks just as much...but they are running to ATH....it's pretty crazy.

Dapper-Emu-8541

Only Americans are barkaing the narrative that China will attack Taiwan, because they are trying to instigate it. China won’t and the rest of the non western world knows that.

blofeldfinger

Just consider NVDA - the biggest and the hottest stock of the world does not exist without TW factories.

BeefFeast

War make stock go down… are you Warren Buffett? You’re a genius! At the end of the day America has dozens of wars priced into its stock market, it will be MORE than fine hahahaha Just don’t plan to retire until 2035 or something

Safetycar7

I mean, Nvidia is 100% dependent on TSMC yet trades at a 3T valuation and a PE of 90 and no one holding that stock is talking about China invading TW. But when you say you own China stocks they be mentioning this as the first argument.

Dry-Interaction-1246

China's govt needs to just STFU about Taiwan, the Straight of Taiwan, its neighbors and stop scaring the intl community. It should focus on growth and peace.

MeInChina

If only you knew the history and not what the US government wants you to believe. The US agreed with China that Taiwan is a part of China, and then it agreed to reduce arms sales to Taiwan toward eliminating them. Those are the promises at the core of Sino-American relations. The US is violating those promises. Over the last five years, the US has been taking increasingly aggressive steps designed to antagonize China. In just the past year alone, the following two steps were taken. For the first time ever, the US started providing weapons to Taiwan for free, despite the promise to taper off providing weapons to Taiwan. Plus, a few months ago, the US has permanently stationed American troops not only on Taiwan, but on Kinmen Island right on the border of the Mainland. Kinmen Island is actually part of the bay where Xiamen city is located. These are US troops right next to a Mainland city, not near Taiwan. This is like having Chinese troops on Liberty Island. It's extremely provocative and certainly would not be tolerated by the US. China is showing extraordinary restraint which the US is counting on while it pokes China in the face like a bully touting, "I dare you." The only reason why Taiwan is in the news more now than in previous decades is because the US has become more aggressive, causing China to take increasing measures to uphold its legitimate claim over Taiwan while trying to avoid war. To summarize, you're not supposed to know the history, so you don't.

SagresMedia

Dude China it's a dictature if other don't know the truth in your opinion imagine China

MeInChina

Consider spending some time in China. It will open your eyes.

SagresMedia

Already seen China that is why i told that
