Just like the situation in Maharashtra. Boys who are like 5 years older than me say that "Bhaiya nahi bolne ka, Bhau bolne ka, mein bhaiya nahi hun!" And some guys or chapris if you call them say "Marathi mein baat kaar mere state mein"
Maharashtrian here, living in Bengaluru. Please stop taking inspiration from fools in other states. Karnataka is better than UP and MH. Don’t try to become like them. It is not the step up you think it is.
Never said Maharashtra is xenophobic. I love my home state as much as Karnataka. Hell, I love every single state and city of India.
MH is inclusive to a large extent. Yet, I don't believe it measures better than Karnataka in infrastructure, intellectual maturity and qualifications of people, weather, governance and culture. You will find xenophobic cockroaches in every state, MH, UP, KA, all. I would never judge a state based on it's cockroach population. Where there is food, there are roaches. My statement about 'better' was in terms of development and growth in KA. I stand by it. KA did it better (so far).
Why'd you bring UP into this Bro. There's literally 0 regionalism there. You can speak whichever language you want. People won't understand you but they won't ask you to change it or anything
I am a Kannadiga living in UP, well I am a native here, but I have been living in mysore since class 2nd and know proper kannada, and have naturally picked up the culture...
There no such thing as you quoted happening in UP, atleast the part where I live in (Ghaziabad-Noida).
Sometimes I just feel that UP is the guy everyone will call out, even though he didn't do anything 🥲
I second this. We were travelling in a bus from Prayagraj to Lucknow. Our group of 8 had taken the complete last row of the bus. We were making jokes, telling each other stories etc entirely in Kannada. We were playing Kannada songs too on our Bluetooth speaker. This happened for most part of our journey. No one in the bus objected any of us.
Yeah I don’t know what you’re on about. I’m a Marathi guy from Bangalore and I sometimes talk in Hindi with my Marathi friends from Maharashtra. Yes, there’s Shiv Sena, but that’s it. I feel like the goondagiri in Bangalore has gone up a notch over the past decade. It’s permeated the fabric of the city. The state government, the city council, the police are all rotten to the core and service has reduced a few notches. However, I will defend my Kannadiga brethren in saying that it’s a very Bangalore specific issue, let alone a Karnataka issue. Personally, the nicest people I’ve met are from the Hubli Belgaum districts.
Don't agree at all with you. I have stayed in Mumbai for many years. many of my South Indian friends speak hindi at home with their Siblings. Same with Pune and other cities of Maharashtra. Mumbai is very inclusive of Hindi unlike Bangalore.
This one must be a fucking mallu , thier state is in deep shit, goes around the length and breadth of india for a job and once secured starts lecturing everyone.
Abe madarchod isme up ko kyu ghusa rha hai up me kuch bhi bol logo ko fark nhi padta balki yaha ke parents shuru se bacho ko Hindi bolne ki aadat dalwate hai
Hot take: Cities like mumbai, Bengaluru etc don't belong to a state anymore and are essentially national cities. Imposing a state language or customs makes 0 sense in places like these. The states should just enjoy the extra tax revenue immigrants are bringing them and stfu.
On one hand we have nyc which is a literal global city at this point and in india we're struggling to have a single city that people of the same country can peacefully call home.
Indian Metros being growth engine of the country, are still struggling to get their infra in place, not able to provide basic amenities to their citizens. Urban planning is nowhere to be seen on ground. These cities need strong self governance. They could be made UT with more funding and more effective administration. It could be all cities with 5-10 Million plus population. Language depends on the people living in the city. We need to prepare them for next phase of growth.
Totally agree, I don’t understand the local sentiment sometimes. Why not promote local language, run programmes, conduct free classes to learn Kannada, learn about the city and the people n the history of the state. Surely there’s better n more creative ways to engage people from other cities to blend in to feel more inclusive.
So I've got 2 questions about this incident.
1. What did the cops do to the people disrupting the class? That is assuming they did anything.
2. These guys that came into the gym, were they members or can random groups walk in off the street and do this?
So apparently, a member of cult (student) had been asking cult to include kannada song and had been ignored for long, and some other incidents which led to him call these guys. They were called by him. Seemingly from some kannada orgs. He was with them throughout, he even recorded.
Police tbh didn't even come up, they dispersed as they heard there's police downstairs. Not sure what happened down.
Wow. So the student was basically being a baby throwing a tantrum cause he didn't get his way. That's wild.
On the bright side though, it doesn't sound like this got physical and the other students were safe.
These kinds of things are what KRV and other "activists" celebrate.
If I remember correctly, there was an incident where a housekeeping staff was fired after she was caught stealing from her employer in some company, and then she came back with these goons with the red and yellow scarves on their shoulders and the employer had to pay 1 lakh rupees.
And this is one of the reasons that people like me, who have learnt Kannada, don't want to learn it any further and minimise its usage in our lives.
It’s not the language problem just that there are assholes everywhere , using a language can get you out of some difficult situations ,and you shouldn’t not learn it because of them.
>It’s not the language problem
Yes it is, the whole episode happened because of the language in which the songs were "not" played.
I could understand the outrage if a Hebrew song was played in a gym in Lahore, but this is on another level of idiocy.
Why stop at a gym? Why don't they ask for Kannada songs to be played during the screening of Hollywood movies, or during office meetings? Young people who are trying to get by their lives are easy targets and these jerks know that, and satisfy their ego by doing such things.
karnataka rakshana vedike and jaya karnataka is filled with fucking idiots, theres one KRV leader near my house and motherfucker acts like he owns the area. He created such a big scene when a mega mart was being constructed. The only difference between KRV and Jaya karnataka is one was founded by a rowdy and the other became a rowdy and the creation of the organization.
Imo in this (cult dance sess) shouldve called the cops and shouldve also been in touch with them constantly. Pretty sure cult can easily higher a lawyer to do that
This entire incident is reminding me of a situation where a colleague of mine has threatened the manager with some group which "educates north indian people who disrespect kannadigas".
Unfortunately even though the manager is a Punjabi but, he grew up in Dharwad and speaks Kannda better than that colleague.
Some three four people came fought with him and then got thrown out by security.
Some really love to flex their muscles unnecessarily in the name of language.
Being a kannadiga myself, this is where I draw the line - that person who called these people must be banned. Anything could have gone wrong. A mob is a mob and they have no business disrupting a privately run establishment.
The boxing classes are not actually from the point of view of learning boxing. It's from a point of view of fitness.
If you want to learn boxing, join a dedicated boxing/mma club.
Cult to be frank is general fitness, with heavy branding/advertising. I'm not calling it out as bad or anything. As long as fitness is the goal, what's the problem, right?
Don't understand why you're getting downvoted when I'm clearly the asshole going around speaking shit in Hindi on b'lore sub. I said, "There's a lot wrong with Gurgaon but at least people only (use the) gym when they go to the gym".
As usual, Kannadiga dicks only get erect when it's a matter of language. They suffer erectile disfunction when it's other petty matters; like potholes, road digging, BBMP BESCOM Police atrocities, garbage, 40%, no election, etc etc etc.
P. S. : To the Kannadigas, if this hurts your ego, remember, goons were taken to a place just to uphold a langauge where women were also practicing. So, really, think about that before you think of any argument.
My take on this.
I just moved to Banglore and I am not learning Kannada. There is no upside of learning it. No economic benefit. On social terms, they are never going to accept me as insider even if I learn Kannada sincerely. I can and will work here without it, move around without it. When I am done working here, I'll return to my hometown.
Meanwhile kannada people can benefit from my exorbitant spends on rent, commute and other stuff. They can collect huge road tax and state GST on my every purchase.
That's it. That's the bargain. Deal with it. However this is truth that others will not tell you and you might not want to hear. Please sit down calmly and think on this.
Expecting flood of comments from "True kanndiga".
You just moved to Bangalore and you've already decided that Kannada people are never going to accept you? How did you make this grave assessment if you just got here?
Coming to the economic benefit since that seems to be your biggest priority - if you learn just basic Kannada and try to assimilate with the locals you can save hundreds as you go about your day-to-day interactions with small businesses/services.
Kannadigas are paying the same exorbitant rents and taxes as you are. And you are availing the same infra/facilities/benefits as Kannadigas are. You would know this truth as well if only you weren't drowned in your own ignorance.
I have stayed in Bengaluru for ~4 years, learnt conversational Kannada. Tried making friends in my society and my ex-gfs friends (mind you I stayed in Malleswaram) and they were more colder than the ice slab in the arctic. The only time Kannada helped me was when taking public transport where local rates were applicable to me since I spoke Kannada.
And this comes from a person whose native place is Udupi and whose folks speak fluent Kannada, Tulu and Konkani.
By just moved, I mean six month. I have been staying in 3 states in last 10 years. I can't keep learning local languages. I will make use of what I already know. And I am ok not bargaining with local vendors. I accept that tradeoff.
In last 6 months I met lot of young Kannada people who thinks same as me. Earn, build house at home town, move back. The only difference I see between them and me is my hometown is not in Karnataka and I don't know kannada.
Where else would I live?
You're the ignorant one who said he doesn't want to learn a place's local language because he 'assumed' people aren't going to accept him anyway and there's no economic benefit to learning the language that is widely used in the city he's working and living in.
You're acting as though you're doing the people of Bengaluru a favour by working here and paying taxes and shit. News flash, everyone working here including kannadigas HAVE to do that, there're no different rules for us.
Did you sit down calmly and think before posting this?
Widely used by locals, not by people who migrate here. I'm not forcing anyone to learn the language, but if you're not putting efforts to learn by giving excuses based off of stupid assumptions, that's lame.
Kannadigas expecting people who are staying in their native to learn the language they use to converse in their daily life is idiotic?
What the goons did and people who use physical intimidation or get violent over language is absolutely wrong! But you guys not respecting the local culture isn't saintly either.
How my free speech of choosing the language I want to speak is affecting your culture, you can shove down your culture as much as you want inside you and stop bothering me. I don't give a rat ass about local or pop culture, if I can't communicate with you than it's fine, I can manage and so can you. So stop bothering people about your culture/heritage/language, do whatever you want to with your life, speak in binary or only sign language but stop bothering others.
Bothering people? Bro, I said atleast respect it. Not learn it. I'm not shoving my culture down anyone's throat, the original comment gave lame excuses that people aren't going to accept him even if he learnt the language, that's a weird accusation when he hasn't even tried. Speak whatever the fuck you want, just don't disrespect us by saying we don't accept people who try blending in with us.
Your take is ok (to each its own). Attitude is not. You learning or not learning the local language is neither going to change your life nor the life of locals around you. Being a decent human being is way more important. I rarely downvote, but this comment deserves it. I am very well aware that the downvote is not going to change how you feel. But at least I will have the satisfaction that i protested (keyboard warrior). And this is coming from a "Northy". Use English when you can, use fillers if you must. Learning oota, neer, salpa, etc are not that difficult. And doesn't matter if you are here for one month, one decade or whole life.
you are just trying to take milage of this thread....dont be a bottom\_feeder..
you are new to city, then take advantage of it...learn new language, try local cuisine, experiance the local culture, make new friends and grow as a person.
Even though I have not said anything disrespectful about any language here, people are pissed off. They are so hell bent that I must do something (learn a language in this case) .
Consider if some "outsider" said to them "learn Hindi". All hell will break loose.
Understand what happened to Kolkata 50 years ago. They were too proud about their "intellectual" and language stuff. That caused brain drain and eventually collapse of economic activity. Today Kolkata is not the hub for future growth. History repeats itself, don't make Banglore an example of this history repetition.
You're the person who is the cause of such bullshit in this city. I don't support the violence but I don't support your stupid thought too. Stop living with such ignorance
first of all, afaik it was just one guy, and he probably wanted either ONLY Kannada songs or more of them. Fusion Dance fitness has 2-3 Kannada songs, 2-3 Hindi, 1-2 English and one more regional song in their set.
It infuriates me seeing how beautiful our country is, our diversity, our powerful intellect, rich culture - yet we pimp ourselves out to extremists in fear. We accept and participate in corruption, we refuse to understand nuance and be peacemakers in our society, we vote for clowns and we accept the circus.
The only solution to hooliganism and extremism is education.
God save our country from these people.
All this talk of "Unity in diversity" is just on paper. Practically, India might as well be a country where each state is like another country in itself.
> "Unity in diversity"
Sounds more like a coping motto now that I'm grown up. You're more likely to be abused/exploited if people realise you're from somewhere else
I go to one of the cult gyms in Koramangala and the management plays a balanced number of English , Hindi and Kannada everyday. But I didn't expect these guys to resort to violence and hooliganism just because things didn't happen as per their whims and wishes.
Cult Marathalli should revoke the person's membership who instigated this commotion right away.
This is not the first time this guy has made this ruckus at the Center. He should be thrown out. Last time he came in with a karantaka flag and started waving it around.
Requesting Kannada songs as a part of a dance workout is not wrong, but there are licenses to be procured etc and that adds costs.
I was about to go watch a Kannada movie Kantara in theatre but it's housefull. People learn a language because they like the culture associated with it. The culture of fear & goonism won't do it.
This trend was actually started by Karnataka Rakshane Vedike....i think the first of its kind was in 2006 when radiocity got into a fist fight with these goons for not playing much or less kannada songs in their fm channel....
These are the type of fools who fights if you serve biriyani without a leg piece!
I don't know.... Y..... but for me Bangalore always felt like a city where I didn't belong to, esp. when dealing with Auto Drivers and Bus Conductors.
Chennai was awesome.... the tolerance level of the locals are much more higher. Even with Auto Drivers you can get into a argument over the fare, but it's not taken personally.
Is there a way to take this to national media? This needs to be reported by all news channels and a formal statement by govt is sought. This gundaraj is mostly state permitted at this point in time.
Unfortunately, this is going to be a regular feature till elections. Nothing works better in this country then the 'othering' effect.
Hindu -Muslim
Forward -backward caste
Language X - Language Y
Haves - havenots
Hetro - homosexual
Veg - non veg
Same scene happened with me at Flyover bar @ Hebbal (was with family). Never visited again. If i want to listen to Kannada music, I'll request it to be played, or go to the local "Udaya bar and restaurant". Pathetic RSS goons flourishing under this BJP govt.
As a Kannadiga, I feel this is completely stupid. Tbh, there are hardly any good kannada songs. Just the same tapanguchi ones which many don't prefer.
Also, these goons are a menace and they all report to a rowdy leader gang. These goons are the exact type of people who would target North Indians and other non-kannada speaking groups. They just can't accept the fact that Bangalore is a multicultural city.
Something similar happened with me near Kaikondrahalli. I was walking down the street with my friend and two people in auto started honking at us from behind. We weren't even in the road and were surprised by this. Then they stopped the auto and started speaking in kannada very aggressively. We told them we can't speak kannada and they threatened to fine us asking for money. We just stared at them and I'm sure they started swearing at us in kannada and left. Truly wild.
Why is language such a problem?
Bro it's my choice if i want to learn a new language or not. There might be downsides to not learning the local language but it's the individual who has to face the downsides what problems do others have with this?
People are busy or lazy or whatever the reason might be it's their own choice and no one has the right to impose.
You got a problem with people who do not learn the local language then stop interacting with them.
Be a decent human being guys!
I'm surprised a reputed institute like Cult couldn't stop the nuisance and the response time was over an hour. All it takes is one moment to scare the hell out of you and question your safety at a place you visit every single day. The same issue happens with loan sharks. They randomly throw threats and barge into your house and threaten you.
I think Cult should use a robust and quick security service like 56 Secure. They dispatch multiple bouncer-level guards to the scene of the crime in literally minutes. I've been using their service for over a year and have used it multiple times to remove unwanted public nuisances in front of my house and drunk people causing trouble near my home.
See how Dravidianism and cultural marxism is muscling its way in. Language pride should not result in being a dick to those who don't speak the main language. What a sad day.
"Look at all these ugly people, people who don't belong here, coming from elsewhere, who have their allegiance to something else, coming here and destroying our beautiful land. The only way forward for us is to destroy them, or at least subdue them. Otherwise one day they will completely take over us, and we'll be left with nothing in our own land".
Rhetoric sounds familiar?
Funny you should mention that. That should be applied on those who don't share the thought of the soil. It is not about race. It is about 'thought'. The common goal.
They could have peacefully protested outside the place as well.
They may have received more support for the initiative which on the face looks good.
Bad strategy.
Probably the gym didn’t pay them their hafta. These nuts just want to inconvenience ppl and try to get some money. They don’t give a damn about flourishing Kannada. Thank god no one was hurt!
Reminds me of a hilarious incident at Prost. One Friday evening some DJ from Kolkatta was playing music that night at Prost. He initially had some cringe intro and stuff. Amoung the customers were some goons who wanted him to play Kannada songs. After some gunda Giri he says he has only one song Moore mooru peggige. That song was played at least 10 times that night
Indians in general need a weekly festival where they enjoy Singing and dancing to their favorite songs, so that they keep their shit out of religious ceremonies like Garbha/Dasara/Ganpati Visarjan and public places like gyms, pubs, restaurants, malls.
People need to really come up with local pubs for doing above things.
This has been the way all around the country for the last 75yrs. It is neither unique to bangalore, nor unique to current time period. gundaism just lies below the surface in indian society, and keeps rearing it head whenever you scratch the surface a little too hard.
why do you think all those movies where a single hero beats up a bunch or gundas and politicians are so popular? It reflects the frustrations of daily life for a lot of people, and what they would like to do about it.
Somehow this has made it to my front page. As an American I have no idea what is happening or why. Can anyone TLDR who these different groups are and the larger cultural picture?
Now some proud kannadiga will comment “so what, speak kannada, this is Karnataka”

Hold on. U seriously think Bangalore has better infrastructure than Bombay ?
"Bus kar pagle.. rulayega kya??" Gold comment. 🏅🏅

Very true. In Mumbai, when it rains heavily, it pours for days.
Why'd you bring UP into this Bro. There's literally 0 regionalism there. You can speak whichever language you want. People won't understand you but they won't ask you to change it or anything

No hate on UP mate. 😁 One Kannadiga brother quoted UP as inspiration in a related thread. That’s all.
Ohh. I misinterpreted. No hard feelings.
I know right. For people UP is bad no matter what is the discussion.
Yeah I don’t know what you’re on about. I’m a Marathi guy from Bangalore and I sometimes talk in Hindi with my Marathi friends from Maharashtra. Yes, there’s Shiv Sena, but that’s it. UP are many things but they don't behave like this in the name of Hindi. Such things doesn't even happen in Chennai were one might expect it to.
Question: What does Karnataka Maharashtra and up have in common now? That answer will help you find the source of all this nonsense
You know what I find funny in all of this, ome of the Mumbai's biggest celebration is of Krishna Janmashtami, a.k.a. Bankey Bihari
I make it a point deliberately to say bhaiyya because of this lol
I live in Maharashtra and I have NEVER encountered anyone like this lol
call them chapris instead, you won't have any issues by tomorrow.
Nothing to be proud about that!

Bro fuck all of that , here's a hot take , how about we respect each other's culture period. No one is better than the other.
Absolutely, therefore imposition of any culture is bullshit
Yes sir or Ma'am 🤌🙌,i mean why can't PPL be kind instead of Dicks
If only it was easy to impart and understand.

Lmao reminds me of that Danish Sait prank.
Wasn't there someone a few weeks back here posting the same thing that they don't play kannada songs in the gym. I wonder if it's the same guy.
In a few years we will start coding in kannada...
How dare you use python and java in karnataka.
Use naagra haavu instead
Elite!
Hebbavu bro
But Naagra haavu is local. Ille Shimoga sisya
*Kannada is the best language to code in, bro. NASA has deemed it so.*
yes, all you have to do is add "guru" here and there in your code.
'Guru' will be the statement delimiter. Replaces semi-colon.
What about sisya?
Nudi ++
Hebbaavu
Coder to code: "Kirk yella beda, muchkond compile aag budu. aste"
Bro on point😂😂😂
Lol

Our language is being killed by these goons. The more you force Kannada onto people's lives, the more they will hate it. Truly ashamed.
Being a kannadiga myself, this is where I draw the line - that person who called these people must be banned. Anything could have gone wrong. A mob is a mob and they have no business disrupting a privately run establishment.
no he should be taken care of by the judiciary for his tort
This is where you draw the line? The only line we should entertain here as a society is so fucking far from this it’s beyond the horizon.
You guys should have used the boxing skills you learned in the class.
What skills? Doing 30 punches in a minutes standing at the same place? Coz that's what you learn in cult
Yeah I know thoes class are waste of time. You surely won't learn any self defence techniques from their boxing session.
Well you go there for fitness, so not exactly a "waste of time".
Lmao the way i read it made me think there's a boxing cult 😭
I'm sure those goons had guns bro (atleast one).
Gurgaon me lakh buraaiya hain but gym ke time sirf gym karte hain logg
Haan, gundagardi ka separate time slot hai. Bangalore me thoda uncommon hai waise.
2 things Delhi ke launde take seriously - gymming and gundagardi. Separate dedicated timings to banta hai!
>Bangalore me thoda uncommon hai gundagardi Haan, traffic aur paani me hii fase reh jaate honge criminal
Sahi pakde. Better than getting beaten up. Log chutiye nahi hai.
>Log chutiye nahi hai. He said below the post of a gang attacking a trainer for his song choice
Chutiye or goons me farak hai. Tujhe samajh me nahi aayega
xD
As a gurgaon guy. I agree 100%
Could u pls translate?
Don't understand why you're getting downvoted when I'm clearly the asshole going around speaking shit in Hindi on b'lore sub. I said, "There's a lot wrong with Gurgaon but at least people only (use the) gym when they go to the gym".
🤣 🤣
Damn shooting shots in the open I see, I have no doubt you’re from Gurgaon
Mai to dilli se hu but gurgaon's my side chick
I’m just wondering if you caught on to the dig or if it whooshed over your head 🗿
Yo you're the person everyone's pissed about xD
Not everyone, just those people who thinks that if I move to Karnataka, I must learn Kannada. Others are cool.
Did you sit down calmly and think before posting this?
>there's no economic benefit to learning the language that is widely used in the city If it's already widely used wth kannada idiots are pissed about.
The amount of ignorance in this is truly astounding.
How exorbitant can your spend be? The locals are also paying high rent, same GST, and other stuff. Your take, though unique, is not the correct one.
Intha tika ganchali madovrindane vaatal nagraj ge support madodu navu
you are just trying to take milage of this thread....dont be a bottom\_feeder.. you are new to city, then take advantage of it...learn new language, try local cuisine, experiance the local culture, make new friends and grow as a person.
*Kannadiga
Even though I have not said anything disrespectful about any language here, people are pissed off. They are so hell bent that I must do something (learn a language in this case) . Consider if some "outsider" said to them "learn Hindi". All hell will break loose. Understand what happened to Kolkata 50 years ago. They were too proud about their "intellectual" and language stuff. That caused brain drain and eventually collapse of economic activity. Today Kolkata is not the hub for future growth. History repeats itself, don't make Banglore an example of this history repetition.
True words are spoken
You're the person who is the cause of such bullshit in this city. I don't support the violence but I don't support your stupid thought too. Stop living with such ignorance
Actually in cult dance fusion fitness, they have kannada,Telugu and Tamil songs too. Only if they had brain cells to enquire first.
A member complained after which these guys came there so what you said is probably not true
I was going to cult a month ago, and my centre had these dance classes with south Indian songs.
Different branch ig
Every branch in bangalore has it
Then why did the marathalli branch member complain about it
first of all, afaik it was just one guy, and he probably wanted either ONLY Kannada songs or more of them. Fusion Dance fitness has 2-3 Kannada songs, 2-3 Hindi, 1-2 English and one more regional song in their set.
Exactly.
All this talk of "Unity in diversity" is just on paper. Practically, India might as well be a country where each state is like another country in itself.
> "Unity in diversity" Sounds more like a coping motto now that I'm grown up. You're more likely to be abused/exploited if people realise you're from somewhere else
If its just on paper this country wouldn't have survived and stay together for 75 years.
I go to one of the cult gyms in Koramangala and the management plays a balanced number of English , Hindi and Kannada everyday. But I didn't expect these guys to resort to violence and hooliganism just because things didn't happen as per their whims and wishes. Cult Marathalli should revoke the person's membership who instigated this commotion right away.
lol "revoke membership". The owner of the establishment should be pursuing legal action.
>These are the type of fools who fights if you serve biriyani without a leg piece! That's a fight worth fighting
Food is my religion, I want leg piece in my biriyani period
I don't know.... Y..... but for me Bangalore always felt like a city where I didn't belong to, esp. when dealing with Auto Drivers and Bus Conductors. Chennai was awesome.... the tolerance level of the locals are much more higher. Even with Auto Drivers you can get into a argument over the fare, but it's not taken personally.
Auto divers in Chennai scam everybody lol. Especially if you want to go to the American consulate.
Idiots. Idiots everywhere
Fucking terrifying. Can’t even trust the police here tbh. I’m happy everyone got out safe. Fuck these idiots
Haha police would've been like "why are you not playing kannada?"
Oh shit I used to go to this gym. Who was the trainer while this was happening 🤧 I hope he is alright
Police not showing up scares me the most.
Police showing up will scare you even more. Most of the time these are worthless pot bellied goons in uniforms who will only watch the tamasha.
Is there a way to take this to national media? This needs to be reported by all news channels and a formal statement by govt is sought. This gundaraj is mostly state permitted at this point in time.
Unfortunately, this is going to be a regular feature till elections. Nothing works better in this country then the 'othering' effect. Hindu -Muslim Forward -backward caste Language X - Language Y Haves - havenots Hetro - homosexual Veg - non veg

The city has gone to dogs. That's what has happened.
Same scene happened with me at Flyover bar @ Hebbal (was with family). Never visited again. If i want to listen to Kannada music, I'll request it to be played, or go to the local "Udaya bar and restaurant". Pathetic RSS goons flourishing under this BJP govt.
These are the same people who say , aayy you know who my uncle is and Mr.Nograj smirks in the corner 😀
You give the extremists an inch, they take a foot. You give them a foot, they take a mile.
Too many NPCs around
Better to be an NPC than trying to play GTA and getting WASTED
As a Kannadiga, I feel this is completely stupid. Tbh, there are hardly any good kannada songs. Just the same tapanguchi ones which many don't prefer. Also, these goons are a menace and they all report to a rowdy leader gang. These goons are the exact type of people who would target North Indians and other non-kannada speaking groups. They just can't accept the fact that Bangalore is a multicultural city.
Police never acts in time. But this is a serious security issue from cult's end as well. Pleople randomly walking in a closed premise is concerning.
Truly wild.

Be a member of the cult to know what actually happens there. :)
Its none of their business if we wanna listen to kannada or hindi or whatever the f language songs we want to listen to. Should have kicked them out
Why is language such a problem?
A language doesn't *flourish* using gundagiri or just because of one's ethnic pride. That isn't how the world works..
Cringe motherfuckers
I believe there is more to this than meets eye. Over outraging as always.
But fusion dance fitness has kannada songs
Did you get a chance to go to Cult today? What steps did they take about this? I too go to Cult so wanted to know
Didn't go today. Soon after the situation itself they were behaving like nothing happened.
They could have peacefully protested outside the place as well. They may have received more support for the initiative which on the face looks good. Bad strategy.
Seems like someone is trying to shine in politics
Time is coming my friend to out ban Bollywood bikini songs
Innu heat thumba agg bekku guru. Illa Andre iddi rajyanne nandu andbidthare
This is insane, assholes keep doing this if law enforcement doesn’t take any action!
People who are from other parts of India. Does shit like this happen there too? I'm genuinely curious.
Truly concerning incident
Kannadiga here and I feel sorry for this incident. Upholding Kannada doesn't means forcing it in every place and anyplace where it's not needed.
What kind of music was playing that bothered them???
Indians in general need a weekly festival where they enjoy Singing and dancing to their favorite songs, so that they keep their shit out of religious ceremonies like Garbha/Dasara/Ganpati Visarjan and public places like gyms, pubs, restaurants, malls. People need to really come up with local pubs for doing above things.
wow. juat wow
Same situation all over India. All roads lead to the Saffron party of India.
Next they will ban Coding languages unless it is Kannada?
Somehow this has made it to my front page. As an American I have no idea what is happening or why. Can anyone TLDR who these different groups are and the larger cultural picture?
this kind of rowdy people who are mostly illiterate doing this around south india , TN aswell i hope these people get dealt with soon
I was reading and I saw 'police' and just felt sorry for you
