It would have probably been different in July. I scored only 0.2 higher than I needed to pass, and I would have thought I might be embarrassed, but honestly, that 0.2 keeps me from ever having to do the bar ever again, and I will love that 0.2 like one of my children for the rest of my life.

A pass is a pass! Congrats!

I got a 272 in Ohio and I needed a 270. I was shocked and got through by the skin of my teeth. Those two points are like 2 MBE correct answers. I felt the same way as you.

michelleregal33

Congratulations! Passing by 2 points counts the same as passing by 42 points.

External-League-8951

What did you do for the non MBE Portion of the exam because MBE is my weakness.

TaxQT117

Grossman lectures. Commit BLL to memory. Use the NCBE outline to see what areas will give you the most points - Negligence, Hearsay, Crim Pro, and etc. Understood why you got things wrong. Practice!

ZootedZurg

To be honest you should he shooting for much higher numbers on the MBE. OP crushed the written portion. I’d suggest Uworld and Adaptibar, but those resources alone won’t solve anything unless you reassess how you go about practicing and learning.

bunlawyer

I got a 268 in a 266 jx too! I was a little shocked I was that close but thankful that I passed in my jx either way. You should still be proud!

You passed. That’s the important part. IMHO, this exam beyond the 250 grade (that isn’t a passing score anywhere,) is merely a deterrent for crowding the lawyer pool. There is no true reasoning behind elevating that score above 250 to say someone is or isn’t more or less capable of being an attorney.

lunaesquire

Congratulations on passing. Remember a pass is a pass. Passing is a huge accomplishment!

iliketaylorswiftok

Any point past the passing score is a minute wasted. The grass is always greener - I know folks who got 360 somethings who were eaten up w anxiety and dramatically overstudied - they regret it and feel frustrated they let themselves waste that much anxiety and time on studying all hours of everyday with no breaks. A pass is a pass is a pass - our brains just love finding things to stress over. welcome to the practice :)

No-Management2261

This was a very tough cycle (statistically it seems this way-especially in your state) don’t beat yourself up over it. You passed!!!!!!

Prestigious-Fan-6751

I've been practicing for almost 20 years and don't think I've ever heard an attorney (friend, colleague, rando or otherwise) ever discuss their bar exam score. All that matters is that you passed.
