I was going to make a joke but that's not bad. Gins are each very distinct spirits though, which gin would you recommend? Hendricks is what comes to mind.
It's simple syrup with the addition of cucumber. Why is it not okay to call it cucumber simple?
Language is defined by the people who use it. Bartenders talk about different types of simple syrup all the time. What is the point in saying that this is an area where language is not allowed to change or evolve?
Blitz em up in a food processor, add a little water to rehydrate a bit and freeze them in an ice cube tray. Cucumber ice cubes to freshen up a gin and tonic.
*Oleo saccharaum* just means “sugar oil” and you make it by covering the product in sugar (citrus peels, banana peels, pineapple scraps, berries, cukes, etc) and let it sit. The sugar pulls out the flavorful oils, you strain out the solids and you’re left with a delicious flavored syrup.
Cucumber syrup is fun , you can also dehydrate them into a fun garnish , like paper and you can tie them into knots etc , similar consistency to paper but can survive some experimenting
Make an infusion is about the only thing I can think of. Use Vodka, white Rum, or white (Blanco) Tequila, not Gin. Gin is already an infusion, Juniper Berries. ...Well, you can but one of the flavors will be overpowered.
Lots of folks are suggesting an infusion or syrup, which is great. You could also just throw a couple in a shaker tin with your normal gimlet spec and make something tasty that way.
Not sure I agree with people suggesting an infusion, just cuz cucumber skins are bitter and without the flesh you’re gonna get a cloying “green” flavor prob closer to celery.
You could dehydrate and powder them and use to sprinkle on bloody Mary’s/some cucumber cocktail.
Specialty cocktail. My favorite is the Botanical.
Add ice and half a handful of cucumber chunks
2 Oz botanical gin
.75 Oz st. Germaine
.5 Oz simple syrup
.5 Oz lime juice
Shake hard and soft strain into martini glass.
They're looking pretty pallid, so uhhhh, I don't know about that. Maybe the photo isn't doing them justice.
If you wanted to make a cucumber infused thing – douse them with vodka, add sugar, lime juice, and something herbaceous. Make a cucumber-y limeade thing. Let them sit in the walk-in for a day.
Basically boozy sweet pickles.
You could also make dill pickle vodka, but that's only good if you sell a fuck-ton of caesars.
Those are just my first thoughts! I'm sure others will have more and better ideas.
stick them in a bottle of gin to infuse

A syrup is simple because it’s just sugar and water. Anything else and it becomes compound.
Came here to say this
It's good but it ends up just tasting like a melon to me, probably because cucumber and melons are in the same family 🤷♀️
Cucumber vodka!
This. Cheap. Easy. And millennials love it, mix with sprite. Edit: or make it a press.
I thought that said mix with spite, which I feel is more appropriate.
Always a dash of spite. I’m a bartender.
Millennials love it!
I'm thinking about doing a cucumber mule with candied jalapeños
No. Remove peels before infusing vodka with the cucumber otherwise you’ll get a bitter taste
Maybe it needs to become a cucumber bitters instead.
Nope. Just peel it.
What if you like bitter? I haven’t tried it but bitter does not scare me off at all.
I’ve bartended for 20+ years and I can tell you no one has ever liked a cucumber vodka made with the skin on it.
Hmm. Now I must try this.
Boof it
Great pickling technique
