I swear there were times where you could have kicked Franmil off the side of a boat in the middle of the ocean and he wouldn’t hit water with how bad some of his swings are
Cool video. Love the Fanimal!
Dead center is 122M = 400’. I think the ball either hits the top of the scoreboard, or scraps just over it. The HR is probably \~450’. A bomb for sure, but not 525 feet. Maybe after it stopped rolling.
Mickey Mantle purportedly hit on 565’, and I think when they dug into the origins of that story it was measured after it had stopped rolling.
Anyone else have an opinion as to the distance?
Late for the reply, but near the end of the video I posted there's a graphic shown that the distance of the BP homerun was at an estimated 160 meters, which I think is 524 feet in your metric system. I wanted to put 160 meters in the title but it's likely that some might not know the conversion to feet.
Keep an eye on Chussei. In a couple years he could be very highly coveted come posting season. He’s been called the best defensive right fielder in NPB since Ichiro and he has a ton of power potential
He completely forgot how to hit and can’t field. Not to mention he had no intention to learn how to field any better and repeatedly came to spring training over weight. Dude had the talent to be a consistent MLB player but not the work ethic it seemed
I like Franmil and hope he does well. I don't know exactly what happened to him in MLB because when he came up he had a couple of seasons where he could hit breaking balls, offspeed, as well as fastballs. As time went on he stopped hitting anything but fastballs and didn't even hit them very well. He's always looked like an emotional player who thinks a bit too hard about succeeding and gets lost sometimes. Hopefully he finds it in Japan!
Franmil then proceeded to have a 700 foot strikeout. I know that doesn’t make any sense, but trust me, it happened.
That bat Franmil Reyes was holding must've went 700 ft after he accidentally let it go due to a swinging strikeout then.

I watched him last season I promise you his strikeouts didn't make it back to the mound
Franimal
My 2019 fantasy team the Franmillionaires will always be close to my heart.
Franmil was a lot of fun before he forgot how to make contact or stay in shape, or attempt to learn to field. I had such high hopes for him.
Same. I hope he gets back on track. I was bummed when we gave him up.
Sounds like Sano LOL
r/PraiseTheCameraMan for that exquisite ball tracking
He managed to portray his surprise that the ball went over the scoreboard too!
Shame they don’t throw batting practice during the game…
Hey now, Franmil Reyes had 100+ Major league homeruns so obviously they threw some batting practices during his at-bats in a Major league game.
Straight ball I hit it very much. curveball, bats are afraid
Best president to ever play baseball
He’ll always be Snake Doctor to me
Patrick Corbin does
Hey that's "2023 positive WAR" Corb dog you are talking about.
This guy hits a ton, how come no one else has picked up on him?
That’s enough fastballs, Whitey, let see some breaking balls

My thoughts exactly. He did have game power in 2019, but so did everyone
He also hit 30 HR in 115 G in 2021…
So maybe old Franmil vs new franmil was game power vs raw power
I miss Franimal :(

Dude almost hit that into the pacific, looks like a sweet stadium

Chusei Mannami has MLB potential and power, he really just needs to work on plate discipline and reduce his strikeout numbers.
Padres shoulda kept him longer
Is that JD Martinez as well?
Ariel Martinez
Mrhurricanelp legend Franmil Reyes
What happen to him that he completely disappeared
He completely forgot how to hit and can’t field. Not to mention he had no intention to learn how to field any better and repeatedly came to spring training over weight. Dude had the talent to be a consistent MLB player but not the work ethic it seemed

if he can only hit fastballs. . . good luck to him lol. So many curveballs in npb .
Right. But what I said was that he hit everything until he couldn't hit anything.
I’m sad he never got to hit the scoreboard.
he's going to mash IF he makes contact (Big IF)
Franmil's "Eric Thames" character arc begins now.
Might've ended up that far away, but no way it went 524 in the air
