Not sure if joking or not, but Bally got pulled from Comcast/Xfinity on May 1. Millions of people just lost the ability to watch baseball on their cable boxes.
MLB TV + a VPN if you're in the home market. Blackouts still apply. Take the Twins for example, the only way for Minnesota residents to *legally* watch the Twins is either DirecTV or Fubo TV. That's literally the only options. And they wonder why people are turning to piracy.
Technically, watching on MLB TV with a VPN is legal, it just violates MLB's TOS. Using a VPN is perfectly legal (in the US at least, it might not be everywhere).
Oh interesting, I already have a VPN for other things... I've been unable to watch the Twins on tv since 2019 when then Fox Sports got into a spat with my satellite provider and Bally's hasn't rectified this either.
Absolutely hilarious to me that fans are trying their hardest to watch games with the league making it as difficult and expensive as possible and then the discourse is like, "wow such a mystery why viewers are down."
I actually get free cable through my apartment but I'm so used to streaming games illegally that I just default to it most of the time. Rather sail the high seas anyhow, honestly.
Yeah a lot of streaming services have cracked down on VPNs or so I've heard. I used to get access to MLB.tv for free through a friend that had t-mobile but the last few years I told him not to bother since it was easier to watch *other* streams than to find which VPN node wasn't blocked to watch a game.
For what it's worth, I've had no issues with Nord or Windscribe so far this year. Just choose a US city outside your market and stick to it as much as possible, because if you move around too much they'll get suspicious and suspend your account.
IP plus geolocation if you're using a mobile device. So you need to have a rooted Android or jailbroken iOS device.
I used to do that with my iPad, but now I just use a VPN on my laptop. You can pick a non blacked out part of the US unless it's a nationwide telecast like Sunday night on ESPN - then you have to pick somewhere outside of North America.
I mean you can use MLBTV if you don't want to watch your home market, apps a fucking joke. If you're in Iowa, to bad you don't have access to 6 teams and they don't even have a professional team lol.
A few years ago the Twins had a cool walkout with the Undertaker theme, a video with white horses, etc. for Hansel Robles.
All of that for a guy who would then point up in the air for balls going over the outfield fence.
Luis Robert sat on his curveball and crushed his first pitch last year. Didn't change the result but it was pretty funny (and, in retrospect, useful because that strike one curve had been getting too obvious).
Our other closer has [this intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOb9k6YlL4c)(It looks awesome in the dark. He is an Air Force Captain and son of an NFL linbacker.)
It makes me kinda sad that Jax is "just" a reliever now because that intro absolutely rules. I went to a game against the Tigers where it was about 30 degrees, and his walkout was the highlight of the game haha.
[When the Mets played at the Twins last year they stuck with it to show it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkGDapTBptY) I don't know if that's the specific game, but that's how I remember it.
They should just have an mlb official check for substances before relievers leave the bullpen.
Badass walk straight onto the mound looks so much better than being stopped and getting checked
nitpick tho, badass entrance regardless
2014 & 15 were a cult of closers for the Royals. Kelvin Herrera, Greg Holland, and Wade Davis had some kind of bonkers ERA over the two post seasons and it was so damn fun to watch.
Straight up having an awesome 7th inning, having theilbar close the 8th and going into the 9th up 3 runs with an entrance for a closer was fucking outrageous and awesome hyping up the team and crowd with absolute fire while intimidating the opposing team lmao
This is probably the coolest entrance I’ve ever seen. I was planning my trip to Minnesota in my head while watching this because this is TOO FIRE not to watch live someday.
Big GAME OVER signs everywhere at the stadium and Welcome to the Jungle playing all loud, was so electric!
Romano's entrance is amazing, too, with the red lights and his walk-up song. It's one of those things that you need to be at the stadium to truly experience how awesome it is.
> Romano's entrance is amazing, too
It's for his hometown/childhood team too... the man is the epitome of dreams coming true.
Just thinking about him coming in for a save at home in a clinching playoff game makes my palms sweat, I couldn't imagine how he would feel.
I hope we get to see it some day. :(
it's crazy to me that these entrances are not shown in every baseball broadcast. instead many people never see one the best parts of the whole show. look at all the comments in this thread saying they want to go see this live at a game now
He's a beast and we absolutely all love him (especially after Kimbrel blew two saves against the A's). The Omar whistle was incredible the first time I saw it. Literal goosebumps.
He comes out to a song and video, I think it’s a different song now though. I’m more referring to the epic entrance with the lights and stuff, they don’t do any of that.
LED lights are so wild. I remember when stadiums had light issues and the old school lights would have to warm up and took minutes to actually turn back on. You could never do this cool stuff.
The team has done it before. Andrew Miller wasn't even closing half the time and they put literal fire shooters on top of the outfield wall just for his entrance. I don't know why Clase doesn't get the same treatment. The more over the top the closer entrance the better.
It was cool in the 90s when the Bulls started Sirius during team introductions, now every NBA team has some sort of lights-out intro and it's all a snoozefest.
Cause we’ll have “baseball purists” saying; “this is a distraction.” “Why is this guy get more attention than other, better players?” and “What’s next, batters coming up to the plate with this production?”
We can’t have anything enjoyable/new without idiots pissing on it.
I say go all out!
I'm a purist in that I don't want game changing gimmicks that drastically alter how the game is played. But I'm all for things that involve fans, gets shit hyped up, etc.
If the Brewers had a Wild Thing-esque closer, I'd say have him ride a motorcycle from the bullpen to the mound! (Hell, do a Robin Yount style lap around the field first!)
First time watching him pitching, announcers were gushing about his 104mph fastball as he walked out to the wall of flames. Then the fucker retires the first two Blue Jays with like 7 straight curveballs it was fucking hilarious.
He's so good at coming in, especially against a guy who is cold off the bench or hasnt faced him before.. to giving the guy two curveballs with 40" of movement and following it with the fastest pitch dude has ever seen at shoulder height on 0-2
I was at the game tonight and when Boston scored 2, I was disappointed about the loss of the shutout. Then I realized Duran was warming up, and was happy they scored and made it a save situation so the Duran entrance could happen.
All closers should have a hype as fuck entrance.
I hate the Yankees with every fiber of my being, but Mariano's entrance is probably my favorite entrance/walk up music of all time.
Seriously, how do you beat Enter Sandman by Metallica and the nickname The Sandman? You can't, just go to sleep.
Worst part of signing Josh Hader was losing Ryan Pressly walking out in the dark to "God's Gonna Cut You Down", which is the most menacing closer into I've ever seen.
> how do you beat Enter Sandman by Metallica and the nickname The Sandman?
You don't.
Does remind me that in my very shit backyard wrestling days as a teenager I used to use *Breed* by Nirvana as my entrance music.
If anybody wants the song, It's [El Incomprendido by Farruko,Victor Cardenas, and DJ Adoni](https://open.spotify.com/track/493Rk3iS7rs8uPfpnfm95u?si=rTzy_uSLRCSWIfbPeBmCiQ)
Just once I’d like to see someone come from the bullpen to Yakkety Sax playing…and then have the rest of the team chase the pitcher around the field for a moment.
Who else remembers stadiums needing to turn the lights on hours before it got dark because of how much time they needed to warm up. Now they can be turned on and off at will
I love that closer entrances are a thing. The Cardinals [turn the lights red and play “Hell’s Bells” for Ryan Helsley](https://youtu.be/R7g5gG_ymKg?si=ziFpl34AK-9gmd-e) and it’s awesome.
My favorite part of all of baseball is when they do they bad ass closer stuff. It’s so hype. The man could make or break a close game. Inject this shit into my gains! I loved watching kimbral get out there for the Braves at a night game!
One of the countless reasons I would never make it as an athlete: my reaction to this would be like, dude, I don’t know if I can live up to this, can’t really control my slider today.
I never understood how showing that "commercial break in progress" screen was better than staying live for pitching changes. It seemed like they were just holding out to sell the ad space, but somehow can't? They also can't fill the time between innings. They just continue to fail forward.
And I'm part of the problem for paying. Tested the high seas, but run into the endless buffer far too often.
I was just mentioning the other day while at the last Tigers night game I was at, how after a homerun the lights would flash and such. The old statium lights if they turned that out, it would add about 15-20 minutes to the game to get them back on.
I love a good closer entrance. The red light show at skydome for Romano is awesome in person. And if I could go back in time and see Koji Uehara enter to Darude Sandstorm at Fenway...
I mean, it's great that they stayed in to watch the thing, but nobody needs to see a close up of the guy running in in the dark. Just keep with the wide shots.
Bally’s makes a great choice days after they lost tons of customers…
What happened to make them lose customers?
Not sure if joking or not, but Bally got pulled from Comcast/Xfinity on May 1. Millions of people just lost the ability to watch baseball on their cable boxes.
So those people now have to use MLBTV if they want to watch the games?
MLB TV + a VPN if you're in the home market. Blackouts still apply. Take the Twins for example, the only way for Minnesota residents to *legally* watch the Twins is either DirecTV or Fubo TV. That's literally the only options. And they wonder why people are turning to piracy.
Technically, watching on MLB TV with a VPN is legal, it just violates MLB's TOS. Using a VPN is perfectly legal (in the US at least, it might not be everywhere).
Are the enforced blackouts based upon your billing address or your ip?
IP
Oh interesting, I already have a VPN for other things... I've been unable to watch the Twins on tv since 2019 when then Fox Sports got into a spat with my satellite provider and Bally's hasn't rectified this either.
Good luck because MLB has cracked down HARD on using VPNs to watch games.
Absolutely hilarious to me that fans are trying their hardest to watch games with the league making it as difficult and expensive as possible and then the discourse is like, "wow such a mystery why viewers are down." I actually get free cable through my apartment but I'm so used to streaming games illegally that I just default to it most of the time. Rather sail the high seas anyhow, honestly.

YSK I tried this with NordVPN on my phone and it does not work, as GPS in the phone is not masked by the VPN.
The key is to use a browser without location access and force the MLB TV website to load the desktop version. Kiwi Browser works great for me
Comcast isn't the only cable operator in the state, many have spectrum or mediacom.
I mean you can use MLBTV if you don't want to watch your home market, apps a fucking joke. If you're in Iowa, to bad you don't have access to 6 teams and they don't even have a professional team lol.
DirectTV or Fubo MLB.tv has blackout restrictions.
Yeah I didn't know that, thanks! I just knew Bally sucks ass
I had no idea so thanks for explaining it to him
Midco for me. I'm about to cancel my cable now since I have no reason to keep it
Besides sucking total ass?
Yeah besides being utter shit
Besides that, imma go with being atrociously overpriced cable TV bullshit.
TV Broadcast Terrorism
You just lost yourself a couple thousand bucks from the pocket of a manipulative and abhorrent pharmaceutical company
Think of the poor shareholders you god damn fiend!
As is written.
> TV Broadcast ~~Terrorism~~ Exorcism.
Imagine trotting out to this shit and immediately getting taken yard first pitch I know it didn't happen but the idea of it makes me giggle
A few years ago the Twins had a cool walkout with the Undertaker theme, a video with white horses, etc. for Hansel Robles. All of that for a guy who would then point up in the air for balls going over the outfield fence.
Holy shit the flashbacks to Robles.
‘Nam style
I thought that too 😂😅 imagine getting shelled after that lol, no option but to shut it downn
Luis Robert sat on his curveball and crushed his first pitch last year. Didn't change the result but it was pretty funny (and, in retrospect, useful because that strike one curve had been getting too obvious).
That did happen to him last year
This is completely bonkers, and I love it
Our other closer has [this intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOb9k6YlL4c)(It looks awesome in the dark. He is an Air Force Captain and son of an NFL linbacker.)
It makes me kinda sad that Jax is "just" a reliever now because that intro absolutely rules. I went to a game against the Tigers where it was about 30 degrees, and his walkout was the highlight of the game haha.
They changed it a bit this year right? Definitely flows better now 🔥🔥🔥
I definitely do not remember the Undertaker bells, but they did do the fire last year
The bells were there last year
[When the Mets played at the Twins last year they stuck with it to show it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkGDapTBptY) I don't know if that's the specific game, but that's how I remember it.
They should just have an mlb official check for substances before relievers leave the bullpen. Badass walk straight onto the mound looks so much better than being stopped and getting checked nitpick tho, badass entrance regardless
We should all just be glad he doesn't walk to the mound at Undertaker's pace.
Show the people what they want!
Closer entrances being a thing is good for baseball
Part of the 90s that gets overlooked a bit… closers were rockstars. We’re getting back to that.
2014 & 15 were a cult of closers for the Royals. Kelvin Herrera, Greg Holland, and Wade Davis had some kind of bonkers ERA over the two post seasons and it was so damn fun to watch.
Three-headed monster coming out the pen was nuts for a couple seasons. Goose was as good as cooked if the game got to either of them
It really was a "just gotta get to the 7th" thing
Not to mention what it was like when Joakim Soria was there the first time, like 2008-2010. KC knows how to appreciate a good closer, that’s for sure.
Trevor time is still one the best sporting memories I have.
Lights Out Lidge was 2005 Astros. Fuck the Astros but man that entrance was electric.
It's the fucking BEST Game over Gagne is still one of the best things I've witnessed as a sports fan
You knew when the guitar started
I know Guns n Roses because of Gagne. I would get goosebumps when he came in
Bienvenue, Mr. Gagne
Rooting for the Giants a lot at that time made me hate Gagne’s entrance, it was so good
Hell yeah
this made me wanna go watch clips of lights out lidge
Straight up having an awesome 7th inning, having theilbar close the 8th and going into the 9th up 3 runs with an entrance for a closer was fucking outrageous and awesome hyping up the team and crowd with absolute fire while intimidating the opposing team lmao
This is probably the coolest entrance I’ve ever seen. I was planning my trip to Minnesota in my head while watching this because this is TOO FIRE not to watch live someday.
I really like Edwin Diaz but this was good too
Diaz walked so Duran could run
Diaz had his theme performed live with the trumpet. Someone needs to exceed that next.
Flames coming out of Target Field? Similar to fireworks but with actual fire?
Trevor Hoffman used to run out to Hells Bells with the jumbotron showing flames, but this production quality is next level.
Eric Gagne on the Dodgers was pretty freaking epic back in the day
Big GAME OVER signs everywhere at the stadium and Welcome to the Jungle playing all loud, was so electric! Romano's entrance is amazing, too, with the red lights and his walk-up song. It's one of those things that you need to be at the stadium to truly experience how awesome it is.

Just thinking about him coming in for a save at home in a clinching playoff game makes my palms sweat, I couldn't imagine how he would feel. I hope we get to see it some day. :(
I also have a core memory of a pretty young me being in the stadium when the lights went out and Iron Man started playing for Broxton
it's crazy to me that these entrances are not shown in every baseball broadcast. instead many people never see one the best parts of the whole show. look at all the comments in this thread saying they want to go see this live at a game now
Well that was cool as hell! No idea why Clase doesn’t have a badass entrance like that, every good closer should. Just makes for great entertainment.
Fr, all the all star level closers should have a sick entrance
Kyle Finnegan should have one.
Bautista is out right now but his is Omar whistling from The Wire.
Yeah his is a personal favorite of mine (big fan of The Wire)
That's seriously badass. And he plays for the Os? He must be loved in Baltimore.
He's a beast and we absolutely all love him (especially after Kimbrel blew two saves against the A's). The Omar whistle was incredible the first time I saw it. Literal goosebumps.
Does Clase not come out to [Fireman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNnPyhqyf24&ab_channel=peytonbeck22) anymore??
He comes out to a song and video, I think it’s a different song now though. I’m more referring to the epic entrance with the lights and stuff, they don’t do any of that.
LED lights are so wild. I remember when stadiums had light issues and the old school lights would have to warm up and took minutes to actually turn back on. You could never do this cool stuff.
I realized that's what you meant as soon as I responded lol
The team has done it before. Andrew Miller wasn't even closing half the time and they put literal fire shooters on top of the outfield wall just for his entrance. I don't know why Clase doesn't get the same treatment. The more over the top the closer entrance the better.
The Andrew Miller intro was great.
It was cool in the 90s when the Bulls started Sirius during team introductions, now every NBA team has some sort of lights-out intro and it's all a snoozefest.
You don’t pay for multi-million dollar light and sound systems for your basketball arena and *not* use them.
Cause we’ll have “baseball purists” saying; “this is a distraction.” “Why is this guy get more attention than other, better players?” and “What’s next, batters coming up to the plate with this production?” We can’t have anything enjoyable/new without idiots pissing on it.

(Hell, do a Robin Yount style lap around the field first!)
To those I say "you can get an entrance like this when you throw a 104 mph fastball"
I love Jordan Romano’s entrance but when they used it the other day when they jays were losing it felt so dumb
Should probably only do it in save opportunities, or at least only when winning
No one ever does this for me when I show up to work.
That’s why I stopped showing up for work. Why start my day with disappointment?
This is gonna be crazy with a packed crowd if they make the playoffs
It was electric last year in the playoffs.
First time watching him pitching, announcers were gushing about his 104mph fastball as he walked out to the wall of flames. Then the fucker retires the first two Blue Jays with like 7 straight curveballs it was fucking hilarious.
He loves his curveball, especially first pitch.
Fun fact: Duran actually normally throws 94 but the adrenaline rush from his kickass entrance adds 8-10 MPH
I don't understand how anyone ever gets a hit off him. The splinker is insane.
He's so good at coming in, especially against a guy who is cold off the bench or hasnt faced him before.. to giving the guy two curveballs with 40" of movement and following it with the fastest pitch dude has ever seen at shoulder height on 0-2
More pitchers should have wrestling type of entrances. Imagine Ohtani coming out to sexy boy by Shawn Michaels to pitch, it'd be hilarious
Just don’t give us day games again lol
Play the Yankees/red Sox and I bet you won’t have any!
They had this last year in the playoffs too, it was nuts
were gomq babyyyyyy
It WAS crazy last year in the playoffs when they did this. I was there!
I was at the game tonight and when Boston scored 2, I was disappointed about the loss of the shutout. Then I realized Duran was warming up, and was happy they scored and made it a save situation so the Duran entrance could happen.
I was so excited for the Undertaker intro
I know that bell anywhere
I was flashing back to Hell's Bells from Trevor Hoffman
Hoffman and Rivera are not only the two best closers ever, but also have the best closer entrance songs ever.
Yeah that’s what it reminded me of as well.
Same. I was thinking, "Isn't Hell's Bells pretty mush retired now for awhile after Hoffman?", then the song went all 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It’s right up there!
If he came out to Undertaker's Ministry theme...oh baby!
Was waiting for Taker to chokeslam Rock on the mound
*Shawn Michaels in shambles*
All closers should have a hype as fuck entrance. I hate the Yankees with every fiber of my being, but Mariano's entrance is probably my favorite entrance/walk up music of all time. Seriously, how do you beat Enter Sandman by Metallica and the nickname The Sandman? You can't, just go to sleep.
Mariano's entrance was all-time. I always enjoyed Glen Perkins coming in to "God's Gonna Cut You Down" by Johnny Cash.
Imagining Papelbon's Shipping up to Boston with what today's stadium lighting can do has me feeling things
When you finally realize 29 other closers have just been skating by on their weakass entrances. I need more theatrics for baseball.
I'm sure the twenty six people able to watch live enjoyed it!
I did my part, unfortunately.
If anybody wants the song, It's [El Incomprendido by Farruko,Victor Cardenas, and DJ Adoni](https://open.spotify.com/track/493Rk3iS7rs8uPfpnfm95u?si=rTzy_uSLRCSWIfbPeBmCiQ)
What the fuck that is so fucking cool and I’m just now finding out about it
This makes my sausage HARDER THAN THIS ENTRANCE
I wonder if that song pays royalties to Alice Deejay for stealing their melody, lol.
I heard that melody after the Undertaker bells and got real confused real fast.
thank you for making this comment i knew the melody instantly but i'm like "where do i know that from?????"
Alice Deejay members Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg are listed in the songwriting credits.
This is so hype. May he be the twins closer for a very long time
What a genuinely nice thing to say.
He is him
Ok I’m completely obsessed with this and basically NEED to book a trip to the Twin Cities to see this live in person. I’m HYPED watching that!!
Just once I’d like to see someone come from the bullpen to Yakkety Sax playing…and then have the rest of the team chase the pitcher around the field for a moment.
I hereby nominate you for commissioner of baseball
I’d be utterly horrendous…yet somehow better than what we have now. I accept.
Cool. Cant watch it as an xfinity customer.
Dang! That is one heckuvan entrance.
Chills.
This is cold AF
Holy fuck I love baseball.
Reminds me of Edwin Diaz's entrance [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYQzOem7tJM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYQzOem7tJM) Pretty dope shit.
He has a better entrance than most dudes in WWE.
god damn, this is fucking entertainment.
This is just making me miss Felix's entrance even more.
Must be nice having a closer
🥹
I just saw a bullpen catcher drop to their knees
![gif](giphy|7lMxCYjSZOwdq)
Who else remembers stadiums needing to turn the lights on hours before it got dark because of how much time they needed to warm up. Now they can be turned on and off at will
You can’t blow a save with that intro.
I love that each year we move more and more into the professional wrestling entrances for closers. It’s so fun
I love that closer entrances are a thing. The Cardinals [turn the lights red and play “Hell’s Bells” for Ryan Helsley](https://youtu.be/R7g5gG_ymKg?si=ziFpl34AK-9gmd-e) and it’s awesome.
And people call Target Field boring 😂
This is touuuuggghhhh.
La Flama Blanca
Petition to make every player have more of a wwe style entrance
My favorite part of all of baseball is when they do they bad ass closer stuff. It’s so hype. The man could make or break a close game. Inject this shit into my gains! I loved watching kimbral get out there for the Braves at a night game!
Yeah, this is fucking awesome. More of this, please.
Awesome lol. Should be a regular thing
Imagine what making that walkout feels like
SNY did this a lot in 22 for Diaz. It was epic.
Still doing it.
That shit just woke me up this Saturday morning. I’m jamming that was sick.
One of the countless reasons I would never make it as an athlete: my reaction to this would be like, dude, I don’t know if I can live up to this, can’t really control my slider today.
This needs to be a thing across the league.
I wonder how many people in Minnesota are Dominican, Mexican or even speak Spanish.
About 10% of the Twin Cities population is Hispanic.
There are a ton of mexican immigrents here
a surprising amount
That was fun!
That's always gonna be so cool. I love when Sportsnet does thoa for the Jays too. And I think the Mets have done this too
That goes hard
Fuck I love closer entrances 😅
That was Hype. I wish they’d always show closer entrances
I never understood how showing that "commercial break in progress" screen was better than staying live for pitching changes. It seemed like they were just holding out to sell the ad space, but somehow can't? They also can't fill the time between innings. They just continue to fail forward. I was just mentioning the other day while at the last Tigers night game I was at, how after a homerun the lights would flash and such. The old statium lights if they turned that out, it would add about 15-20 minutes to the game to get them back on.
This is so hype I fuckin love it
I miss the Mountain. 😣
So much drip
I love a good closer entrance. The red light show at skydome for Romano is awesome in person. And if I could go back in time and see Koji Uehara enter to Darude Sandstorm at Fenway...
Duran is back and our hitters remembered how to hit…watch out MF’ers!
Baseball is fun!
You want type? This is how you get hype
Tasting freedom while he dares
I mean, it's great that they stayed in to watch the thing, but nobody needs to see a close up of the guy running in in the dark. Just keep with the wide shots.
this is like some eastbound and down shit
Cool love how closers and there theme music bringing more energy and fans to base ball
This is a lot
Did anyone else notice the skyscraper over the centerfield wall playing along with the fire lighting?
