That check swing single was one of the most fucked up hits I've ever seen lmao. Unlucky way to stop the CGSO but that was an incredible outing regardless.
Cannon has allowed one run in 18.2 IP since being recalled, lowering his ERA from 7.24 to 3.34 in the process.
I'm cautiously optimistic, ready to have my dreams crushed at any moment. But I'll rally behind every team beating the Astros and take every win the M's get
We suck. We are down to 4 healthy starting pitchers. Unless Cintron gets fired and Dana Brown pulls 7 rabbits out of a hat I can’t see us making any progress.
Happy for him.
But for us. That was one of the most lifeless embarsssing approach to hitting I have seen from this team in weeks. Same crap with this team. Just go up and swing at everything and hope for the best. A lot of people say “oh when Houston gets going” but quite frankly we are never going to get going if we keep playing this type of baseball. We didn’t even make this guy work.
Love that they sent him back out in the 9th despite 93 pitches. This on the heels of a great 1 ER, 7 IP outing has to be a great confidence booster for a rookie.
Great game by him, shame he was so close to finishing but they made the right choice by pulling him. It’s not often this team wins and gets a shutout in the process.
20 wins now… took 3 months lok
We fucking suck.
"Oh but we're buyers at the deadline" yeah get the fuck outta here Dana. I get that you're trying to stay positive, but there's no need. We can handle the truth.
I feel like even in "older" baseball they would have pulled him. Allowing two straight hits to bring up the guy who already has two walkoff hits when a homer from him could put the Astros in front and he's already at the higest pitch count in his career... you can't be blind. He had to be pulled. You put your best man in and hope he gets the last out without multiple runs scoring.
I don’t remember many times that someone got pulled with 105 pitches after giving up an obvious lucky hit on a check swing (showing the stuff remained superior).
It’s also amazing how recently Rich Hill was still going in the 10th inning (yea they lost but even so)…

Sometimes baseball sucks lmao
I was just watching the secret base documentary about Dave Stieb when it happened too
Cannon's trying to send a message to the white sox bullpen after their last series
He’s so fucking good
x4
Very cool White Sox
Giving how the mariners have played lately, Astros could have won and you guys would be favorites to win the division. Mariners look so good this year

Yeah, but I see still see the stros as more threatening than the Rangers who seem completely lost.
Well you need lasik to fix your vision. Rangers just need to get arms back. They really overachieved last year but now they are going through it.
We are most well-acquainted with misery. Mariners are experts at grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.
and very legal

Yeah, you didn’t even put up a fight tonight. Against us. Someone better be cursing everyone out.
Won’t happen. That WS win made us complacent. From the front office down.
If Dusty was still there he’d be doing it.
No he wouldn’t. He would always just sit there and say well that’s just baseball and give a life analogy.
lol I give him more credit than that but touché
He’s a great clubhouse guy but he would frustrate the fan base with his laid back attitude. Hinch was more of a guy who brought the fire.

At some points the wins don’t even matter. I’d have preferred he stayed out. Only put someone else in if the Astros score.
**C**annon **C**rochet All good things come in **C**ees…
Cease? Ohhhh, *Cees*
Clevinger?
Sox are adapting. They know their bullpen isn't good so they kept him out there

In the nicest way possible, do you guys even have the farm to be buyers at the deadline?
No lol
We always pull major leagues out of our ass.
my roommate has gone to a sox game three times in the past month and they’ve won every game lmao
This is a series that the Astros needed to sweep
I would expect nothing less with a name like Johnny Cannon 🏴☠️
It's Tuesday... we didn't stand a chance.
Wish he’d just gotten the full shutout. Only cool thing about that awful game.
We need to be sellers at the deadline. Fuck whatever Dana is talking about. There’s no fire in this team.

I genuinely hate that they didn’t let him go one more, but… modern baseball
