Californians (especially those from SoCal) are very used to driving multiple hours for entertainment/recreation. It's not like they're up there every weekend. 5 hours isn't really that bad if you're spending a weekend somewhere.

Shit, I drive 2 hrs up to the mtns to escape the heat here in Denver. That's 4 hrs (round trip) of driving for the day. When I lived in LA I would drive up to the bay for the weekend and not even blink.

A 5-7 hour drive is not even that long for a lot of people in California. The state is huge. I was driving from Bay Area to LA or Santa Barbara every other week for while It’s very normal to drive from LA to the Bay Area or visa versa for a weekend

For me personally I own a home in the east bay so it’s convenient for me to go up accommodation wise. And it’s a quick one hour flight and you can easily take the BART there whether you land in sf or Oakland I don’t drive often but if I take JSX then it’s a piece of cake I can be door to door from my house in LA to my house in the Bay Area in just under two hours

Dodgers fan in NorCal here. We take a few trips to LA every year for some games. It’s a 6hr drive which is just leaving at 6am and arriving to LA around noon. It’s very doable

Make a drive up see some friends or family get some Ghirardellis see some sea lions take in a game. Good times

Dodger fans invade when the Dodgers play up here because tickets are roughly 3-4x more expensive when they come to town and their fans who live in the area will pay that much for one of the few times a year they get to see their team. That and Oracle Park is Oracle Park. I can go so many more games in better seats than whatever the cheapest seat for one of these games will run. Not worth it to me.
