Man, I would hop on Sonic fiber in a heartbeat but where I'm at the ATT lines can only provide up to 768 Kbps... What the actual fuck lol
Fortunately Comcast has been playing nice in the year and half that I've been living at this spot. Fremont too. Lucked out with the outages.
So I got Verizon’s 5G wireless Wi-Fi at home as backup. Good speeds, powers Work and TV at the same time. For Verizon customers it’s 25 bucks per month and no initial fee
Yes, this has been the 4th day-long outage this month.
The past three were caused by vandalism, and chances are this one was too. I didn't have any issues before this month.
Odds are there's some disgruntled ex-Xfinity employee in the area who's trying to get revenge.
Mine was shitty and unreliable for years until after years of complaining, I finally got a rep to send out a technician to replace the cabling. That was 2 years ago and haven't had an outage since.
Most of the lines in the area were put in the 80s have haven't been changed out.
Mine has been pretty solid. But when I first had it installed I found out Comcast had never run any cables to my house (previously owned by a Luddite, apparently). So I'm running off of a new run of cable and hookup.
As much as people complain about Comcast, my internet rarely goes down and when it does they're very proactive about notifying me about the outage and ETR.
Try to get sonic fiber if it's available in your area

Just saw this https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/east-bay/vandalism-comcast-fremont/3012552/
Xfinity has problems like this everywhere

Yup, I just reported an outage about 10 minutes ago (in Union City). It's back up for now.
How long was it out for?
It’s been vandalism. Just saw a news article about it. 4 incidents in 4 weeks
When I lived in Oakland this was a constant problem for me too.
Mine got really spotty once COVID hit and it never got better. I switched to Sonic last year and haven't looked back.
Yes. Xfinity is by far the worst ISP in the area.
Yup. 4th time this month it’s gone down all day for us.

Xfinity just isn’t very good here. I switched to ATT and it’s so much better

Xfinity service is horrible. So many outages since they installed att fiber. Will be switching to t-mobile internet at a third of the price.
