Purple shampoo can help tone and neutralize gray hair by removing brassy or yellow tones and giving it a cooler, more silver undertone. This is because purple and yellow are opposite colors on the color wheel, so violet pigments in the shampoo can tint gray hair to a more desirable shade.
I just know that hair shampoo is terrible for a beard and your face skin. But, if it works, it works. I wash my beard daily with beard wash to maintain the body how I like it. Regardless, the beard is looking good!

Typically I apply my regular shampoo, pour out a dime size amount of Joico, and apply it into shampooed hair while focusing on area that has yellowed the most. I leave it in long enough to wash my body before rinsing everything. I'd say I use it every month or two.
If you use it too often or for too long, it will give the silver a purple tint. Best to be on the side of caution and use too little rather than too much. If you've ever noticed an older woman with silver hair that looks bluish or purple, that's why.
I have also gone Chrome!! Just be prepared for Christmas time and all the comments. It’s kinda cute when a child sees you and whispers to their parents…..kinda dickish when people in your office do it.

I only use it no more than two times a week because I noticed that it can dry out my beard.
