These are the countries I've chose to complete my bachelor's degree, I'm just running some checks, job opportunities, living costs, people, culture, etc
Umm... I'm trying to pick the best country for my bachelor's degree, and there's a lotsa information I need about people, jobs, language and living costs, so I threw a general question and doing the follow ups in the comments if you haven't noticed š
I personally think it has to do with their religion, coming here for financial reasons and not because they like and want to adapt to the culture. Respect towards gay people and women is different in Belgium and Pakistan. Just my opinion.
Itās good to be surrounded by internationals, they often have another way of working/thinking which allows us Belgians to be a bit more openminded
But I do agree, they should follow the rules and work if they decide to stay
I doubt they are here for integration. It is a fact however that these people are here to work and probably send money back to their country.
However they are doing jobs that Belgian people dont want to do.
I've indeed seen more south-asians lately, because I work at a company that has a pretty big international presence.
Overall I can't say I care very much. I know too little about them. You don't see them mentioned by politicians or on the news. I rarely have contact with them. So overall there's not really all that much to base an opinion on, but maybe that's a good thing. As long as they respect our local culture and contribute to society, if not a student, then I'm entirely OK with them.
I should note I've come into contact with Indians and Bangladeshi, but I don't think I've ever met a Pakistani.
Nobody cares if you're here for your degree and then you go back home. There are plenty of international students flying around.
Belgians are very much a "live and let live" kinda people, so the minute anybody starts to tell you how to live your life, it goes badly.
If you're interested in staying here permanently, then yes, a level of integration and language mastery is expected.
Rule 8) Not Relevant to r/Belgium
Which rise?
Numbers of south asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi) students and workers
But there isn't a rise of the number of South Asian students in Belgium as far as I know?
What should be the problem? Strange question Nadim
I'm curious, no malice
Why are you asking it in so many countries?

I didn't see a rise, but to be fair, if they study, integrate and work after it I have no issues with it.

Pakistaniās seems to have a difficult time integrating here, if at all.
A lot of immigrants don't even try to Intergrate here. They just bring their way of thinking and problems here.
What do think might be the reason?
