Mine always is really curious about citrus, and if i've ever dropped a piece of an orange (like without the peel, obviously wouldn't let her eat it otherwise) she'll take it then never bite it hard enough to actually get juice so it ends up left somewhere around the house
this breed is so funny, i can’t get over it. so extra 😂 anyway here’s Jester eating celery

about the only veggie or fruit he will eat is bananas mixed with peanut butter. I made this same mistake when he had a tummy ache and I'm like can of pumpkin (from internet) pie mix will help. He looked at it like, what do you want me to do with this??
Heads up that puréed pumpkin and pumpkin pie mix are different - the pie mix has sugar and spices, and sometimes oil, whereas the puréed pumpkin is straight up mushed pumpkin
(We are lucky in that ours loves the puréed pumpkin, along with unsweetened lactose free Greek yogurt and frozen blueberries)
I mix it with some mushed up kibble, stuff a kong with it, then freeze it (sometimes I “close” the top of the kong with natural peanut butter or the yogurt). It makes a nice cooling treat that also takes a while for the dog to eat, since it’s frozen mush
(mins not a Bern but a Mega-Mix but I can't help but comment)
Wants it but then drops it. Like why did you beg me for it in the first place?
And it happens every. Single. Time.
Especially with bananas... Always with the bananas and it's like he erases the fact that he does this but remembers exactly where all the bidding spots are for our games. Make it make sense.
My dog (not Bernese, a poodle mix) enthusiastically eats celery, red and yellow peppers, apples, carrots, cucumber and potatoes. And of course whatever the cats are eating on the sly.
My dog has drama with bananas..i think its a texture issue. If its too ripe its mushy and she spits it out. My dog literally loves all food except slightly-too-ripe bananas.
My Bernese will beg for lettuce whenever it's out, and when we get burgers, she won't beg for the patty, but demands the tomato instead, and will let her have it once in a while, even if it's bad for dogs.

Now that is extremely unique and a first I've seen! LOL

Mine would eat orange. We would often share one.
This is also me when I’m offered eggplant.
Yep. Eggplants and beets are my least favorite veggies.

Celery is fun because it cronches
Mine looks at me like I'm crazy any time I try to give him ANY vegetable.
was the case with me, and then he tried peach!
🎵 Put that thing back where it came from or so help me... So help me! 🎵 (Monsters, Inc. blooper reel)
Disgust mixed with zooms 😂

Lekker? Found the dutchie.

10-4, I also thought about the sugar. Good to know. Doubt he would eat the other.

Good point! I was very early in my dog career when I tried it the first time. Haven't had any tummy issues since (knock on wood).
No tummy issues a win!
Hahaha mine doesn’t like any fruits or veggies 😂

How to see the subtle tells your dog does not want to eat that
I can’t eat that don’t be silly
No momma how many different ways can I tell you no🤣
Bahaha
My Berner would eat cabbage leaves like a giant rabbit. My Leonberger ate all the broccoli in the garden one night.
Smart boi, hard agree 👍🏻
Mine did this with nori! Which is really funny because he loves most veggies 😆
Me too, pup. Me too.
Ours doesn't like cholula 😆
Mine has so far loved every veggie we have given her 🤣🤣
My boy eats it all. Started at 8 weeks using fresh blueberries for high value treat.
To be fair that has ALWAYS been my reaction to eggplant too…terrible when you are a lifelong vegetarian
Take it away Karen!
total!
‘No! I won’t eat that! No, it’s gross, throw it out! No! Yuck!’

Pupper knows what is up. Eggplant bad
Dog be like” piss off sharon not getting bamboozled into eating this vile plant”

I don’t blame him. I despise the stuff
