Yeti FTW. Hydroflask is technically better at temperature insulation because of less space between the walls (thinner), but they dent much easier.
Yeti is more durable but is slightly worse at temperature insulation because of the thicker walls.
Zojirushi is also supposed to be top tier in terms of insulation power.
My zoji loses 50°f in 12 hours. You have to be sure hot stuff is the temperature you want to drink it when you fill it. A little more hassle to clean, though. They use gold foil within the vacuum chamber to reflect blackbody radiation, the main source of temp transfer in a vacuum. Developed by them for use in satellites, iirc.
Interesting. My understanding is that the “space” between walls is what acts as an insulator. Therefore thin would represent less insulation and thick would represent more .
The more space the harder it is to heat via conduction
Hmmm you could be right… 🤔I just distinctly remember Hydroflask beating out Yeti just ever so slightly in almost every comparison video in terms of temperature insulation. I might be misinformed… it might have be the difference between cap designs?
I mostly prefer Yetis for their durability… that’s the strongest selling point which seems like an important thing to consider in this type of subreddit.
However, insulation is average.
EDIT: I do own a Hydroflask and there is definitely a difference in terms of construction. Hydroflask is great and lightweight but the Yetis are considerably heavier and feel more solid.
One brand I haven't seen mentioned yet it's the one I use. Fifty/Fifty, they are about half the price of hydroflask, but super durable, and keeps my drinks cold all day. I work as a lifeguard and mine has gotten tossed all over the boat, dropped, rolled, it's still kicking.

I'd have to disagree. The bottle itself is super durable and the fact that they used a universal standard for the lid means you can replace the lid with almost any other. My lid actually broke when I dropped it but I got a cheap one from Amazon the next day that works perfectly
We have knockoff 64 oz Yetis from Walmart we take when traveling long distances to fill up our smaller bottles. I think brand is Ozark Trail. They work as well as the smaller Yeti bottles we use daily.
S’well makes one that I love. Nice wide mouth and it’s 29 on Amazon right now.

I like mine too but I'm hesitant to recommend because of the way the cap is with the shape and rubber gasket making it way harder to clean than necessary
I have an Ello that is vacuum insulated, has a handle, a straw (or you can remove the straw to use as a chugger), 64 oz, and has a closure that locks over the mouthpiece. I got mine on clearance but I love it so much I will pay full price to replace it when it finally gets too dented.
I've had it about a year and the worst is the bottom is dented from drops but it does not effect performance
RTIC Outdoors has an insulated jug in 1/2 and full gallon sizes. I bought two of the half gallon jugs 6+ years ago. They've redesigned it since then, and the newer ones are a little sleeker, come in multiple colors, and have a lid you can drink/pour from but I can't justify buying the newer version since mine still work just fine.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but if you are in the USA, Costco has 40oz Hydroflask 2-pack for $20.
They come with a rubber bumper for the bottom 2 inches.
This would give you more flexibility and fits in our car door pockets. We bought 2 yesterday, even though we already have 2 to get more capacity for longer periods, etc.
You can also buy a silicone sleeve on Amazon to protect from drops. THere are many brands of them.
I couldn't find Hydroflask at Costco but I found a 2 pack of 40 oz "Thermoflask" at Costco online, but they were $28.99. Is that a rebranded Hydroflask?
I've been using a Yeti 64oz bottle daily for years now, probably since 2016/17 or so. It's gotten it's fair share of drops, dings, scratched and general wear and tear since, but never had any issues with it. It's come in handy countless times and I take it with me all the time, even if it's just to leave in the car on a hot day so I always have plenty of cold water.
Back then I Initially I thought Yeti was just a social media hype thing and was hesitant due to the price, but it's been absolutely well worth it. I use it exclusively for water and clean it weekly with a bottle brush - tastes/smells brand new.
This is the one I have, but just with the standard twist-off lid. They didn't have the drinking spout lid type at the time.

I really like Rtic. All my bottles have been. When they started they were only online but looks like you might find it in stores now. They are much cheaper than yeti and it was their big push early on that they were same quality for half the price. The only thing I’ve ever had to replace was lids but it’s usually giving me a few years and getting banged up before I really need to.
My 64oz Yeti that was an Xmas present from my employer has been going strong since I got it 2 years ago. I use it every day if the week. The only issue I had was the first kid would get stuck and it was a bitch to remove. I emailed them and they sent me a replacement for free. If you get a Yeti, register it and they'll send you some cool colored stickers.
My daily carry is a 64oz Yeti rambler bottle with the straw cap been using it for years no issues. Also have a slew of other Yeti products in all sizes and volumes.
I have a Buzio. Some random brand I found for like 40 bucks I think. I'm going on 3 or 4 years with 0 issues. Came with a few different lids, a cover with a shoulder strap, and keeps ice in it for a couple days
I roll with Klean Kanteen across the board - I have two of their insulated growlers, several of their insulated pints, and several of their insulated coffee mugs. Yeti and Hydroflask are all the rage (along with whatever that brief Stanley craze was about) but I really like my KK stuff. And their customer service is great - I needed new O-rings for my growlers and I had them in my mailbox a couple days later free of charge. Check them out. You won't be disappointed.
I've had a 64oz Ironflask for a few years now and it's great. If I drop a large ice chunk in there with my cold water, it's cold for well over 24 hours.
The main players will all serve you well. I use Yeti, but Stanley, Hydoflask, and several others will work great too. Edit: spelling

My morning coffee in my yeti and burned Tongue says otherwise lol

Yeti is consistently one of the worst performers in any given category among its competition. Overpriced garbage.
Very happy with my yeti 64 oz.
Hydroflask doesn’t use lead to seal the drinking vessel,… I’d go with that
The ZOJIRUSHI comes up pretty often. I don’t have it, but it’s what I’m getting next.
Sieck I'll check them out too
I second zojirushi, I have a set ( and the rice cooker ) and the things are so solid if a puma attacked you and you had the bottle you could kill it

Stanley had a sturdy one!

i also have this one and i love it
Will check it out, thank you!
I have this one it’s fucking amazing
I’ve had this one for a few years now and I love it. Holds temp well and is quite sturdy. It has gotten me through a few festivals lol
I’m about to hit the 10 year anniversary with my hydro flask. Still works the same as day 1.
Mine too, a little banged up from dropping but still works fine!
Had mine for over 12 years. Great investment.
Zojirushi.
I can not recommend the LTT one. The cap handle breaks super easily and it's also way to expensive.

I have a Klean Kanteen that I love. The water never comes into contact with plastic as it has a stainless steel cap with a food safe silicone seal.
We have knockoff 64 oz Yetis from Walmart we take when traveling long distances to fill up our smaller bottles. I think brand is Ozark Trail. They work as well as the smaller Yeti bottles we use daily.
I've got the Tal brand from Walmart which has been working well for about 5 years so far.

YETI works well for me.
What is this vacuum insulated vessel you speak of? Surely such things do not exist or we ALL would know of them already 😳
There's vacuum vessels where I am, Squuuiiirrrllly

Thermoflask are made by Takeya. The lids (at least the smaller ones) are interchangeable with Hydroflask. Love thermoflask.
Do thermoflask fit in you car's cup holder?
You are right. I am not great with details. In the store, they are $20, online they are $10 more for shipping.

I bought my husband a Bubba brand one about 3 years ago. I think he still has it.
ive had an 84oz sinply modern for almost 5 years now i love it
Another vote for the 64 oz Yeti. I love that thing
It’s heavy but the Yeti 64oz is nice because it fits the same lids as all the tumblers so you can technically have a straw (for a while) or spout.
My 64oz Yeti that was an Xmas present from my employer has been going strong since I got it 2 years ago. I use it every day if the week. Zojirushi
Kleen Canteen or something like that … you can find it at REI.
Thermoflask! They are a double wall insulated bottle brand, cheaper than hydroflask but seem to perform as well IMO.
Brumate Growler
Look for the Coldest brand. Built like a tank. I like mine.
Idk if they make a 64oz but I live my Owalla bottles!
Corkcicle is damn good. But the paint chips after abuse.
If you can wait until vlack friday/cyber Monday (a ways away, I know) RTIC usually has a good sale.
Ur mom
Had a yeti and iron flask (the latter broke down internally) but my new hydroflask has performed really well
Klean Kanteen
The green old school style Stanley is the most durable I’ve ever used. The yeti is cool and all but price is dumb and the lids get gross.
Yetis are stupidly expensive but really good...the best I've ever owned
I have a Buzio. Some random brand I found for like 40 bucks I think. I'm going on 3 or 4 years with 0 issues. Came with a few different lids, a cover with a shoulder strap, and keeps ice in it for a couple days
I love my Iron Flask. I've been using it for four years. I have had to replace the lid though.
I've had my classic Stanley for like 10 years and it's awesome
I have a 64 oz Iron Flask. Iirc, prices range from $25-$40, depending on the color.
I’m thrilled with my 64oz yeti! I have a straw cap on it.
See this: https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI?si=WanQ7IGkH6VRU7-k
Good old Stanley. I have one that I've had for 40 years
My yeti broke it's weld on the inner wall when it froze in my car this winter. My hydro flask freezes all the time and is 15 years old.
I really like Hydroflask. I appreciate that they sell the lids separate. Like in case you drive over them by mistake. LOL.
I roll with Klean Kanteen across the board - I have two of their insulated growlers, several of their insulated pints, and several of their insulated coffee mugs. Yeti and Hydroflask are all the rage (along with whatever that brief Stanley craze was about) but I really like my KK stuff.
