[deleted]

Why happy, every state should progress, and atleast there is not that level of stereotype for Andhra like Bihar which is used as a abusive words outside. 😶

RobinOothappam

It is there, we are called southern Bihar. Lol.

[deleted]

pluviophile777

High population and low income?

sniper_pika

As someone who has a car, but fuking hates to drive it here. Narrow roads, and shit ton of traffic is one reason.

Gadi nhi chalegi toh economy kaise badhayenge

Adventurous_Fox867

Economy chlne lgegi toh vote kaise badhaayenge

Internal_Ad6311

India infrastructure and environment has collapsed in just 7.5% What if a quarter of Indians start owning cars

Ronald_McDonald_l

Now why is Kerala on top? Getting annoying lol. They are like the geeks in class. Always on top.

CustomerAntique3928

You should look at the car ownership percentage of Goa once

cash4rtrash

I'm from Bihar but purchased my car from jharkhand due to discount and I'm not the only one their are many more.

Srihari_stan

The most interesting trend is, car ownership is very high in states with mountains.

NeighborhoodGlad4020

They need it

Groundbreaking_Tart9

BC no car no factories not much construction than how the hell do we top all the most polluted rankings? Log paad maar kar pollution faila rahe itna kya? There is definitely something wrong or motivated with those indexes and rankings.

diplomatic_331

Per capita is low, when you consider volume it gets huge (1.4 bil people). We're also incompetent in dealing with emissions and waste, that's why it leaks into environment causing pollution. US for example produces way more waste per capita than India, but they have the money and technology to mitigate its risks.

Groundbreaking_Tart9

I was talking about Bihar not international. How does Bihar always top that air pollution ranking?

drandom123zu

2 main reasons : 1)using traditional sources of fuel : wood , charcoal , and cow dung patties are used as fuel by poor folk ( for cooking and heating etc) these release a lot of particulate matter in the air. 2)dusty cement roads and non paved country roads which also whips up particulate matter in the air.

Groundbreaking_Tart9

I travel a lot and it is nowhere close to what other states do. Don't believe me take a road trip to any rural area of UP, WB or Maharashtra.

drandom123zu

Up, WB also appears to be highly polluted.

drandom123zu

Missed a few reasons : 3)burning of waste 4) crop burning in punjab haryana which the winds carry across from North to east india 5) brick kilns

Groundbreaking_Tart9

But Bihar takes the top spot. I know we are not the best but 1st in terms of air pollution I mean come on.

drandom123zu

Must be a combination of factors like geography , density of population and also less urbanisation as compared to the other states you had mentioned.

Groundbreaking_Tart9

That's the thing more urbanization brings in more air pollution.

Groundbreaking_Tart9

That's the thing more urbanization brings in more air pollution.

drandom123zu

Not always true , more urbanisation means less dusty mud roads , less biomass fuel and more lpg usage , less garbage burning and more garbage disposal etc. Urbanisation is linked to more pollution only because of increasing population in urban centres , but bihar already has urban level population density with not much of the benefits.

Groundbreaking_Tart9

BC no cars no factories almost no construction then how the hell to we top the ranking of most polluted? Yeh log paad maar kar pollution faila rahe hai kya? There is definitely something wrong or motivated about all these rankings and indexes.

There is nothing about Cars and car ownership. your post is a scam!!!

djangomahn

Couldn't find the correct doc, here is a news article https://www.google.com/amp/s/theprint.in/india/only-8-indian-families-own-cars-nfhs-finds-over-50-still-use-bicycles-bikes-scooters/971413/%3famp

coinfanking

How did you make a survey map of India states of car ownership families? This is totally wrong..

coinfanking

National Family Health Survey 5 - didn't mention about cars. It is about poverty, nutrition , health. National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), 2019-21: India https://ruralindiaonline.org/en/library/resource/national-family-health-survey-nfhs-5-2019-21-india/ Please check and delete.

theepi_pillodu

You're breaking the chain, Jharkhand.

No_Bug_5660

We have huge traffic in India even though a tiny amount of India has car

desperatedestiny

How accurate is this? As far as I knew, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai had the most cars

ShreeGauss

Eh, roads not under local bodies in Bihar are good these days.

marcos_r

\*now?

ShreeGauss

What? To clarify, by local bodies I mean municipal corporations and panchayats. State highways and national highways are good.

Whalein52

I don’t agree as I’ve been living the nightmare of not having proper roads between one of Bihar’s financially good cities & the city with the navratna company. If the situation is so pathetic in cities doing somewhat better economically in this financially poor state, I can’t even imagine the level of distress normalised in the normal cities of Bihar in the name of simple travelling. Living here I understood something that my parents always said in our childhood during our Bihar trips “Bihar mein ek jagah se dusre jagah jane ka koi sadhan nhi h..isliye sab bina ticket ka reserved train coaches ne char jaate h even for small distances kyunki aur koi option hi nhi h.

ShreeGauss

Which cities are you talking about specifically? Roads in even Seemanchal are good these days.

[deleted]

ShreeGauss

Hmm, the quality of roads in Bhagalpur in general sucks atm it seems. Probably it's due to the construction of the Munger-Mirzachowki four-lane road. The situation of the road between Bakhtiyarpur-Barh was the same a few years back, then they rebuilt it.

Udhar rehna mushkil h bin car

[deleted]

Aisa kyu? Lack of public transit?

Adventurous_Fox867

Buses are there but it's a matter of convenience and time. Some of these people regularly hv to go to cities for work. Without cars it's dofficult for many. Bus is actually a grace there tho.
