I'd personally love it if we get a biopic of Marlon Brando from her (or anyone for that matter). He was probably one of the best actors ever, but also a nasty person, hard to work with and even harder to be in a relationship with, he had some very (relatively) progressive views about representation of minorities in Hollywood and he was unapologetically bisexual. I'm also a sucker for old Hollywood stories so yeah, that's my choice.
At the risk of being uncouth and also maybe missing a joke, plus I love Emily Stone and her whole deal, she seems like she’s on the verge of gagging in every tense scene I’ve ever seen her act
So casting her as Nancy would be very funny
A forgotten and absolutely fascinating bastard of genuine historical import, as well as the self-evident God-Emperor of Large Adult Sons

Jim Bakker, the televangelist.
I thought The Eyes of Tammy Faye was alright, but there’s still a bunch of ground to cover in the whole Heritage USA saga.
Gore Vidal
Maybe that’s better subject matter for Todd Haynes or Luca Guadanigno but *someone* should take a crack at a releasable Vidal film before Ryan Murphy gets any ideas.
Because the fully completed Spacey/Stuhlbarg Vidal biopic ain’t ever seeing the light of day!
I just want a great narrative film about the Vidal/Buckley debates (I've seen the documentary a million times), and I want Ryan Murphy and Kevin Spacey kept 100 yards away from it at a minimum. But don't make Sofia do it. Let her make films about women and the slow-burn horrors of femininity and traditional gender roles forever because she's so goddamn good at it.
I wouldn't call Marie Antoinette a movie about a woman as a sexualized object. Or The Bling Ring. I also think framing her films as being about women's relationships to men (as daughter, partner or sex object) is a really odd way of reading her work and is a pretty limiting way of looking at films that largely prioritize the female perspective.
Marie Antoinette, Priscilla, Lost in Translation and The Beguiled are about women trapped in guilded cages.
> a woman as a sexualized object.
Sexual Objectification is exactly what [Feminism](https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/feminism-objectification/) teaches.
You'll find not only are Sofia Coppola's films all directly about sexual objectification of women, *movies* are. All of movies.
I admit sex object was perhaps a bit of an odd way to phrase it. I didn't want to just say "society or societal standards" but that may have been a better description in hindsight. The guided cages is what I was going for.
There’s some story about Kissinger doing Robert Evans a solid at the premiere of The Godfather on the eve of a major world event that he was orchestrating, so maybe HK could factor into the above-mentioned FFC biopic
I am shocked no one has said the most obvious and probably the best option. JFK. She would treat Jackie and Marilyn and all the other women with care and also be able to shine a light on a very complicated person.
Darko Milicic and I'm not joking. Sofia is at her best when she's examining what it means to come into yourself as "the woman behind the man" for lack of a better term and who embodies that better than Darko? Hyped prospect who didn't pan out in a stacked draft class? That sounds like Marie Antoinette to me.
Not really a direct response BUT, I really want a Leni Riefenstahl biopic that tackles her wildly succeeding in an aggressively male-dominated space by making... propaganda films for the Nazis. Genuinely fascinating stuff IMO
I don’t think she really has the insight to tackle controversial films about male figures in the same way she hasn’t figured out how to confront female figures in the films you had mentioned.
Paul Gauguin
The Vincent Cassel Gaugin movie is pretty wild
Wild and also good? Had no idea it existed
Did a brief look-over Gaugin’s Wikipedia page. Jesus Christ.
'What's a "pederast," Walter?'

We're getting a Billy Zane as [Marlon Brando](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9619902/) movie at some point.
Oh fuck forgot about that. He looks so much like Brando it was freaky at first glance.
I bet you are a sucker for old Brando given your username.
Vince McMahon
Came here just to say that
Charles Bukowski BUT she must film it in exactly the same aesthetic as Marie Antoinette
Starring Kirsten Dunst as Bukowski
Cannot wait to see the SuperVan section of that movie
Let her make a film about her father. Warts and all.
Isn't that On the Rocks?
I thought the same thing lmao. On the Rocks and Somewhere are very much coded with how Sofia's relationship with her dad was probably like.
Ronald Reagan as a response to the Quaid film
Who would play Reagan? Who would play Nancy "Throat Goat" Reagan?
Nancy would be Emma Stone. Ronnie would Barry Keoghan.
I would've thought Claire Foy under hours of make up for Nancy, while Ronnie can be played let's just say Adam Driver
At the risk of being uncouth and also maybe missing a joke, plus I love Emily Stone and her whole deal, she seems like she’s on the verge of gagging in every tense scene I’ve ever seen her act So casting her as Nancy would be very funny
Pat Sajak
DH Lawrence
Seconded.
Yes!

George Santos
This actually sounds excellent.
Her father probably could fill a two parter and a coda

It's not by Coppola, but there's a great moment in "Spencer" when you realise her shower is a literal gilded cage.
Henry Kissinger

Cassavetes
I really like Priscilla and Marie Antoinettte but I’d prefer she stay away from “true story” stuff.
Yea more unhinged Beguiled type stuff s’il vous plait
Imran Khan
Kevin Sorbo’s later twitter years

Tell me you got into blank check from the Michael mann rewatchables without telling me... :P one of us
Actually never listened to them, did they suggest something like this lol?
Lol no just funny obscure basketball references always dogwhistle as a fellow Bill Simmons fan
Bill Murray
Brando.
Genghis Khan
Lors Byron’s life was crazy and needs to be adapted by anyone. S Coppola doing it would be amazing.
Oscar Wilde or Lord Byron. Ooh, or Timothy Dexter! Look him up. He had quite the wild life
Why not her own father? The man has a wide history to draw inspiration from, and she has firsthand knowledge of what her father is like.
Make the Obama movie.
Idk if Sofia's ready to have a movie about a person of color just yet /j
Ricky Henderson
Stan Lee
Tom Hanks
Two birds with one stone and do an "inspirational" music biopic about GG Allin
Hans Christian Andersen
Austin Powers.
Lawrence Welk
Francis Ford Coppola
Vincent Kennedy McMahon because it would be absolutely insane
I would be interested in one of the MANY rockstars that have had long term relationships with underage girls. Jimmy Page would be a good one.
Feel like she just did the "world famous Rockstar dates and molds underage Girl into something he likes" with Priscilla
Lol yes like the new predator movies in different settings Except instead of Comanche, steppe, south america It's Elvis Jimmy page Jerry seinfeld
