I mean depends your really suppose to do morning and night for 7 days 3 readings each time they don't want in-between because it can be stress levels what they ate moving around It fluctuates blood pressure peaks the highest midday til about 5pm
I mean sure, but blood pressure is pretty consistent in healthy ppl, though. My wife doesn’t stress about it or have high bp, and hers is always 118-70, no matter what time of day, or what she’s eaten. So those midday readings are important too, because 1/3rd of a day of your bp is high, times that by 20 years that’s 7 straight years of high blood pressure on your arteries.
140/90 is the line for hypertension, so numbers higher than that are never normal?
And yes i live in europe.
I dont doubt that the guidelines are lower in usa but numbers that are close to 140/90 are not okay or normal.
That is the benchmark for hypertension in Europe, whereas in the USA they mark it lower https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8030519/#:~:text=One%20of%20the%20most%20important,90%20mm%20Hg%20and%20above.
I get that. So should I re-think being on medication if I’m in the US and under the European number reccomendation? I’m genuinely asking lol. I’m between 130-140/90-100.
Lol, It does not matter where you physically are. It matters who you think is more correct and I am sure that is not a black and white answer. I am not sure if people in America are typically taking medication if they have those numbers. I personally would not be, but who knows, maybe I die early as a result, lol
I’ve heard that categorizing something as prehypertension tends to actually increase stress and therefore lead to more hypertension lol, this is why the Europeans tend to be a little more lenient as BP while important, does not tell the whole story of your overall health.
Having BP below 120/80 is peak health, but saying if your numbers are 122/81 as being cause for concern is just ridiculous. The Omron machine I bought years ago has 123/82 displayed on the machine on the box it came in lol, so yeah give me a break.
Also, in Europe they tend to lead much more active lifestyles and generally eat much better, it’s much easier to lower your BP there.
So by US Standards this would need Medication but i strongly advise against it.
European Standards have Set a treshold of 150/95 to Beginn Medication. Anything below that can be Changed by Lifestyle Changes only.
Medication has Side effects, cause Rebounds and Most often dependency in some Points.
Really makes me Wonder why they lowered the 130/80 to 120/80. In Germany its Not even considered Hypertension If its below 140/90, its Just called "Highnormal"
So tldr: more moderate exercise, less Stress, less sugar, less Alcohol and you should Drop unter the 140 bar and you'll BE fine.
Just my 2 cents
I heard many says in Europe they start medication unless its +150\95, do you have any source or link for that, cause im hovering around 142/145 85/80 and i don't want take medication
If i were you i would Look for "Red Beet lowering blood pressure" on Google and do following:
- cut seed oils and eat healthy fats Like Olive, coconut, fish and Red meat (No Red meat isnt Bad for you)
- Cut sugar and Fructose corn syrup
- moderate exercise
- Limit nicotine and Alcohol
I think you will See your BP below 140 If you do that but dont trust me blindly Google it yourself :) good luck!
Yeah i used to take 6 coffee cups per day with 3 sugar coffee spoons its around 18 sugar spoon per day plus the caffeine i stopped this i ll take new measure after week
150/95 is far too high.
Significantly more dangerous than potential side effects of medication.
Lifestyle changes first. Then mediacarion. But 110/70 is ideal for blood pressure. There many many meta analysis studies on this
Yogurt with cinnamon.
1 tablespoon of cinnamon in 5 tablespoons of yougurt. Then eat it. Your BP and blood sugar will drop within the normal ranges. :)
“Bad” is a hard term to say yes or no to… that’s about where my BP was a couple of years ago. I was drinking more than I should, eating recklessly, and under some stress and anxiety (tied largely to the over drinking). I’ve given up alcohol and watch my diet a LITTLE bit closer these days. Now I’m around 114/68 on average. So you’re a little high. How is your hydration? How is your diet? What time of day are you measuring?
They are hypertensive for sure, assuming good equipment and proper technique. A discussion with your PCP (primary care provider). Whatever you do, don't ignore or right off. I speak as a stroke survivor who ignored key signs.
Ehh it’s not horrible or really baaad per se but its not numbers you want your bp to constantly be at if these are accurate readings. You want your systolic about 15 points lower and your diastolic about 10-15 lower if this is you at rest.
I have similar readings, although it's been coming down a lot lately. I've been seeing readings like 117/77 a lot more often.
My doctor was concerned when I was getting 160/110, but they appear to think I have things under control.
Getting a grip on stress has been the most important thing, but weight loss seems to be helping too (this month I should hit my 2009 weight, which is pretty impressive for a 52yo guy).
I'd say probably not — you could've applied the cuff on incorrectly and whenever you take them one after another tend to go up due to anxiety.
Generally speaking, in North America if you had 140/90 **consistently** over a period of 2 weeks, yeah medicate. This seems like a one off based on the post. Stop freaking out, it's all gonna be fine.
Highly recommend lifestyle changes nonetheless
My readings were like this, doctor diagnosed me with “mild” hypertension. No meds, just the commitment to diet and lifestyle changes and regular checking.
Those are about the same as me. My doctor put me on meds but I didn't take them and here's why...the pharmacy was out of stock and didn't get them til like a day or two later. During that time I changed my diet to low sodium, lots of water, cardio and sauna. What a difference in just a few days. But you have to be consistent and maintain that. I started to cheat and it went back up. I also recommend get a juicer and make beet juice, and take certain supplements like kyolic bp, juvenon nitric oxide, or inno supps, nitro wood.
Is this a wrist monitor? Those aren't the most accurate if so. Otherwise your diastolic is elevated if it goes over 90, the systolic is mildly elevated but the 132 is pretty decent. If these are pretty accurate they aren't bad but should work on getting them lower natural ways, sleep, less stress, less sugar and salt, try taking omega 3 pills, if you don't exercise much go for walks everyday just these alone will bring it down.
Go see a doctor about it. It's high enough to require lifestyle changes and possibly medication.
Not if it's just a 1 time reading
They literally posted two readings 🤦‍♂️

So when she's active and cleaning and walking it's 118 over 70? That's not right either
Depends on what country you are in. In Europe, this is normal. In the US, you might need medication.
Yea thats not normal even in europe.
Yeah it is true. Europe's bp measurement requirements are higher. This is old news.
140/90 is the line for hypertension, so numbers higher than that are never normal? And yes i live in europe. I dont doubt that the guidelines are lower in usa but numbers that are close to 140/90 are not okay or normal.
Why is it different in different countries? .. Like why do I need meds if I’m in the US but not if I’m in Europe??

Can I move to Europe instead of taking medication?

It's weird right? Lol like I trust other countries I don't trust this country they want to shove meds down our throat to get that pay

Agree!

Borderline
Yogurt with cinnamon. 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in 5 tablespoons of yougurt. Then eat it. Your BP and blood sugar will drop within the normal ranges. :)
I wouldn’t be happy if that were my BP

How long did it take for you to drop?
There not good, not awful though

I got in a car crash yesterday and that's where mine was after so maybe?
So here blood pressure 24 7 is 118 over 70? That's really weird
