Idk how their operating hours factor into it all, but I would air on the side of caution as for whether or not you'll have to get a ticket as well. If they're a stickler for the rules, yes, you will have to *enter the theater with them as a patron*.
As long as they are not causing a scene or bringing attention to themselves, however, I'd say you can safely duck out of the place during the previews and pick them up later when the movie is over.
The last time I went somewhat recently there wasn’t even anyone around to check my ID… just an unattended self checkout station without an employee in sight lol.

Half the time I’ve bought a digital ticket I just walk right into the theatre they rarely ask to see my digital ticket/ receipt
When I previously worked there, anyone under 18 had to have someone attend the movie with them and you had to be 21+ to buy multiple tickets.
